Strong By Nature

Over the decades, Arai has continuously updated their helmets one step at a time based on what has been proven to work. It didn’t take long to see that the shell’s shape began to resemble that of the strongest shape in nature – an egg. This realization reinforced Arai’s philosophy of building upon what worked and never trying something radical or unproven. This Egg Shape Form (ESF) is now the foundation of every Arai helmet model, and the Defiant Pro-Cruise is no exception.

This Egg Shape Form continues to be optimized to disperse impact forces by being round and smooth. The lack of protruding edges or irregular surfaces allows the forces to be distributed evenly and away from the point of impact, and is also less likely to snag and twist during slides.

The addition of the external Pro Shade System shield, which does not require a redesign of the shell or the removal of critical interior material, underscores Arai’s commitment to maximizing protection while still delivering tangible benefits for the rider.

Taking such care is something every Arai craftsman is proud of: no one else is so willing to go to such lengths to continually improve their product.

Creator of the first motorcycle helmet in Japan, Arai has handcrafted helmets for more than 60 years. During that time, the singular goal of the Arai family has been to provide consistently improving levels of protection in every helmet they produce.
