HOST Salford

A programme for women, by women. Do you want to:

• Learn new entrepreneurial skills in a supportive space?

• Prepare to work for yourself?

• Turn your talents into a second income?

• Take a side-hustle to the next level?

• Meet a community of likeminded people?

FreelanceHER 100 is an award-winning, fully funded enterprise programme for women by women, working to launch and grow sustainable businesses across Greater Manchester.

At HOST, the Home of Skills & Technology, we champion entrepreneurship.

Launched in November 2020, FreelanceHER 100 was aimed at supporting women who had lost their jobs during the pandemic and helping them succeed during challenging times. It provided them with the skills, confidence and selfbelief to pursue their ambitions as a freelancer or start-up business: our most recent cohort of 100 women found that 100% of the participants felt the programme had a positive impact on their businesses.

Now we’re launching brand-new opportunities for women and nonbinary people who are pre-trading to be equipped with the mind and skillset to be able to realise their own business ambitions.

Operated by IN4 Group, an award-winning digital technology skills provider, we are experts in delivering transformative programmes that empower ordinary people to create extraordinary enterprises. We’ve worked with hundreds of women from all walks of life, with varied experience, backgrounds and perspectives.

FREELANCEHER SALFORD

Did you know that in the last year, the number of women in Salford who are self-employed has dropped by 35% compared to the previous year?

This means despite a growing population and an economy with thousands more businesses being created in the city every year, women in Salford are less likely to become business leaders and shape the future for a diverse and prosperous local economy.

At HOST Salford, we’re on a mission to change that.

We’re bringing a wealth of entrepreneurial expertise to the streets of Salford, creating hands-on, in-person workshops and experiences for local women who want opportunities to:

• Build their confidence around other like-minded people

• Learn how they can earn income from the talents they already have

• Understand what it takes to explore a new business idea and take action to find new customers

• Overcome barriers to starting their own business

Participants will benefit from:

• A fully funded opportunity to learn in a local and accessible environment

• High-impact individual sessions with a focus on personal needs

• Expert support from inspirational women entrepreneurs

• Direct access to an inclusive community of likeminded women

Participants should be:

TESTIMONIALS

“When women have someone who believes in them; their power, their authentic self and their unique gifts and talents, anything is possible. It’s an absolute honour to have been chosen as a mentor for FreelanceHER 100 and I can’t wait to start sowing into the UK’s next generation of female led awesomeness.”

“The FreelanceHER 100 experience is both hugely empowering and pragmatically practical. Learning with likeminded individuals means the enthusiasm and passion stays high, and stoked, and it really feels like you are being given every reason to fly! There is some really valuable business support to be had as well. It’s a shame it’s come to an end.”

“A brilliant way to chat and meet other like-minded women. It has left me feeling a lot more supported and empowered. A must do programme for those wanting to expand their network and learn a few things along the way.”

“It felt like someone had thrown a pebble in the pond when I first started and every idea and challenge to accelerate my business came to the surface, which found overwhelming at first. This is exactly what I needed to take the first step. After some workshops on goal setting and mentoring through FreelanceHER 100, I was able to prioritise what I needed to do, and I moved forward much quicker than I would have ever done without the programme.”
