National Hospice and Palliative Care Month

Each November, National Hospice and Palliative Care Month shines a light on the essential services provided by organizations like Hospice of San Joaquin (HSJ). As the oldest hospice in San Joaquin County, HSJ is committed to o ering compassionate end-of-life care to patients and their families, focusing on comfort, dignity, and respect.

Hospice care is about more than just managing symptoms; it's about enriching the nal moments of life by providing emotional, spiritual, and physical support to both patients and their loved ones. Our dedicated team of nurses, social workers, chaplains, and volunteers works tirelessly to ensure that patients facing terminal illnesses are surrounded by love and comfort, not only in our facilities but also in the homes of those we serve.

National Hospice and Palliative Care Month allows us to recognize and celebrate the work of our caregivers and the profound impact they have on families across our community.

It’s also a time to raise awareness about the importance of timely hospice and palliative care, helping people understand that hospice is not about giving up but about prioritizing quality of life when time is limited.

roughout November, we encourage our community to learn more about the bene ts of hospice care, explore volunteer opportunities, and consider how you can support our mission. Whether through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading the word, you can help ensure that everyone in need has access to compassionate care in their nal stages of life.

At Hospice of San Joaquin, we believe in the power of community support and the di erence that end-of-life care can make in ensuring a peaceful transition for both patients and their families. As we honor National Hospice and Palliative Care Month, we extend our deepest gratitude to our sta , volunteers, and community members for helping us continue this vital work.
