Hospice of Dubuque honors veterans with compassionate end-oflife care that recognizes their service and sacrifice. The Hospice of Dubuque Staff and Volunteers are committed to doing everything we can to make veterans' final days as comfortable and meaningful as possible.

The Tree of Life

A beautiful katsura tree in Washington Park serves as the Tree of Life. Through every season, this tree stands as a symbol of hope and healing. The tree’s branches represent the communities that make up our tri-state service area, and its roots remind us of the ties that bind us into a larger supportive community. The heart-shaped leaves change color throughout the year, demonstrating the unique and changing seasons of life.

The Tree of Life serves as a symbol of the cycle of life, a tribute to those we have lost, and a reminder that memories live forever. How appropriate that we light this tree during Memorial Day to honor and remember those we love.

This year, over 3,000 lights adorn the Tree of Life, which will remain lit throughout the holiday weekend. Thank you for joining us to remember and celebrate the lives of your loved ones.
