Giró introduces the new checkweigher CHW-S60. A verifier scale that is intended to be installed at the bag exit of any fruit and vegetable packaging line. It can process up to 60 bags per minute allowing, in many cases, using a single unit to verify the weight of any line (weighing and packaging ).

The CHW-S60 is bascially a 2,1 meters length conveyor composed of three independent motorized sections. The first section takes care of individualizing bags to arrive conveniently separated to the weighing area. The second section is the one which weights through a high precission load cells. Finally the third one drives the bags to the output conveyor or reject them if they are not within the allowed weight range.

CHW-S60 weight ranges covers from 500g to 5.5kg, suitable for all common needs of the horticultural packaging.

This checkweigher has a touch screen that offers a complete and detailed information. It can display a graph (histogram) with the distribution of the weights obtained during the production batch, displays the information of all processed bags, which have been accepted and which have been rejected and the average weight of the batch.

Another of the outstanding features of CHW-S60 is its connectivity to GirControl Plus. As a result, all the information processed by the CHW-S60 is sent to and stored in the GirControl Plus so it can be viewed

and analyzed on demand. For example, all weights obtained by CHW-S60 are saved into the GirControl Plus, so the information of all individual bag weight can be checked. Of course you can also access the data average, maximum and minimum weight and the number of bags produced, accepted and rejected.

Smart consumables for a clipper Stop costly mistakes in your plant

Some years ago Giró revolutionized the world of packaging with the introduction of Smart Consumables System (SCS) associated with GirBagger packaging system.

It is possible to make the Clip2Clip label with multiple shapes to customize the package design. The resulting effect using different sizes and shapes is surprising and a remarkable differentiation pack appearance can be obtained.

The exclusive SCS system by Giró, allows communication between consumables and packaging machine so that it automatically reads the most relevant consumable information.

This information, recorded on an RFID tag is basically consumable code, material type and the traceability data.

Besides the amazing visual impact, one of the main attractions of Clip2Clip bag, is that the label is made of 100% Polyethylene and, with the exception of the clip, all the bag is made with the same raw material (HDPE), for better recyclability.

The Clip2Clip label can be printed with thermal-transfer technology, allowing the packer to incorporate variable information, such as barcodes, variety and origin of the fruit, traceability data, price, weight, etc.

The SCS system was only compatible with GirBagger machines and now also supports the CA-10 clipping bagger.

Thanks to SCS both the net and the Wineglass labels to feed a CA-10 are read automatically by the machine without requiring any additional task for the operator. At the time of loading of the consumables, the CA-10 detects the RFID tags attached to the net and wineglass reels and loads the information contained therein.

With this information, the machine can recognize whether the loaded supplies are adequate to perform the required package and, if not, warn the operator that there is an error in the fed consumable.

The SCS system is perfectly integrated with GirControl Plus, so that the information read by the machine is transferred to GirControl Plus being stored in its database. Giró currently offers information and control system of consumables traceability than any other company in the industry can offer. A bidirectional integrated system, from raw material to the fruit bag and from the bag to the raw material, allows Giró to know which batch of raw material, which operators were involved and which productive resources have been used in the consumables that made a package that can be found at the point of sale or in the hands of the consumer. This is only possible thanks to strict reporting processes and internal control and also being the first company in the world offering the SCS (Smart Consumables System) intelligent packaging system that performs an automated reading of consumables involved in the packaging.

One concern of all food operating companies is the quality control throughout the production flow and distribution chain.

Traceability is a key component in the management of quality control and it should also include all the information of the packaging process and materials used therein.

Once again Giró shows its ability to innovate and bring solutions to the market. Giró has been developing a traceability system integrated than any other company in the industry can currently offer.

To achieve this goal it was necessary to carry out two major projects: the management of internal traceability during the production and logistics process that takes place in Giró and, secondly, to develop a method that allows packers manage adequately and automated traceability of consumables used for each package.

The Line-Pack uses the labeling Clip2Clip, being able to use the size and shape more suitable for every need and every creative idea. Allows both vertical and horizontal orientation of the package.

Line-Pack at the Point of Sales The recommended label size ranges between 160 mm (2 pieces) and 210 mm (3 pieces), with widths of 50 to 60 mm.

The Line-Pack offers a new way to sell the fruit. To make it practical, Giró has developed a new easy open woven mesh. An extremely light and ecological net (less than 1 gr of plastic packaging!) having a longitudinal zones identified with another color

The Line-Pack can be made with the new CA-9L bagging machinee equipped with a Clip2Clip labeling device.

CA-9L is a modified version of the known CA-9 clipping machine with smaller diameter tubes that allow the alignment of the fruit. Initially the ‘C’ version, ideal for citrus or rounded fruits without peduncle, will be launched. In the future there will be an ‘F’ version for all types of products that incorporate a system for introducing the fruit that avoids snags with the mesh, highly recommended, for example, for packaging onions in Line-Pack.
