Greetings from the Mason Family here on the North Bench!

Here we are again getting ready for more things the same and several things not the same.

What’s the same? Doug and I are still so excited about the friendships we’re making, knowledge we’re gaining and the support we’re getting from customers and friends. We’re giving our all to chase our dream. We still approach much of our breeding selections with the goal of producing a solid female. We pursue industry leading genetics from proven sires that carry strong maternal characteristics.

As we are growing our registered herd, we know we need a female that can survive in our environment, that we can get along with, and that can have a calf and raise a calf with minimal input from us. We solely ranch and raise some hay. When the work needs to be done its mostly Doug, I and the three kids, and some help from my parents and a few neighbors when the job is too big for just us and the kids, or it needs to be done during school hours. Our spare time is spent running the kids to their events and giving back to the community as both Doug and I volunteer on several local boards. Similar to most of our customers, we don’t have time to fuss over the little things (besides the mountain of data collection and record keeping required for a registered herd!!). We require cattle that can work as hard for us as we do for them.

What’s different? The biggest difference this year is that Lee won’t be behind the sale block with us. He has decided to gear back or change lanes. It’s not going to be the same! Neither Lee or Jim are out of the livestock business and they are still mentors in every aspect. They are true trail blazers in the Black Angus industry that we highly respect.

Please look the catalog over. We appreciate your time. Our excitement grows with every group of bulls we’ve been blessed to offer to our fellow livestock producers. Videos are available by request.
