Dry cough and sore throat: pharyngitis DISEASES

TOS SECA Y DOLOR EN GARGANTA: FARINGITIS By | Por Redacción / Reynosa, Tam.

People with a dry cough, throat discomfort, runny nose and nasal obstruction for four weeks or more, should be treated immediately with a doctor as it could be chronic pharyngitis. At this time with very frequent temperature changes, it is recommended to take measures to avoid getting sick, since respiratory conditions increase in children and older adults. Dr. Francisco Díaz Cisneros said that some people who have these symptoms prefer to take anti-inflammatories and antibiotics, instead of consulting the doctor, but in this way, they only complicate the clinical picture. He explained that some of the risk factors for contracting pharyngitis are having nasal obstruction, being exposed to dust, smoke, radical changes in temperature, smoking or oral breathing. “If there are pain and redness in the throat, persistent dry cough for more than three or four weeks, it may be due to gastroesophageal reflux, caused by stomach acid in the throat or allergic rhinitis”, said the director of the UMF No. 40 of the IMSS in Reynosa. The family medicine specialist added that to verify this disease, it is essential to perform medical auscultation to determine if the person has other symptoms, such as abdominal pain, heartburn, or reflux, which may lead to other conditions.<

CREAN NEURONAS ARTIFICIALES By | Por Andrea González / Monterrey, Nuevo León

At the end of last year, a group of scientists from the universities of Bath, Bristol, Zurich, and Auckland created an artificial neuron that could cure chronic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, among others. The neurons created by scientists are silicone chips that behave exactly like a normal neuron. According to an article by the University of Bath, they need only one billionth of the power of a microprocessor that makes them “ideal for use in medical implants and other bioelectronic devices”. Neurons are a base element for life because they are scattered throughout the body and control their proper functioning. If some of these fail, diseases or disorders could be generated depending on the area they damage. This discovery is unique in its kind because creating neurons has been like a dream, for those who have worked in the medical area for decades. “Biological neurons, in general, have a very complicated electrical behavior”, said scientist Alain Nogaret.<

Don’t joke ... it’s Munchausen syndrome NO INVENTES… ES EL SÍNDROME DE MÜNCHHAUSEN By | Por Darinka Guzmán / Monterrey, N.L.

Do you pretend false symptoms, which seem to be real, as if you were sick? Then he has Münchhausen syndrome by proxy. A couple of years ago a mother was arrested for causing serious injuries to her son, after admitting that for 8 years he convinced several doctors that the child was seriously ill, which led to him being subjected to unnecessary surgery. The woman went to the hospital a total of 323 times since her son was born, in addition to the fact that he has entered the operating room up to 13 times for alleged ailments. According to the story, she could suffer from Münchhausen syndrome by proxy, for inducing real or apparent symptoms of a disease. Its detection can prevent child abuse and medical tests, unnecessary, expensive and probably dangerous. Munchausen syndrome is a psychiatric disorder recorded in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders as a fictitious disease. It takes its name from Karl Friedrich Hieronymus, Baron of Münchhausen (1720-1797), who became famous for telling stories of situations that never happened to him, such as dancing in the stomach of a whale or traveling to the Moon. Unlike a person who invents diseases to receive a benefit such as leaving work or winning a trial, the patient with Münchhausen syndrome has a psychological need to assume the role of the patient. The patient does so with physical or psychological symptoms pretended or intentionally produced. They are pathological lies.<

Covid-19 emergency REYNOSA RESPONDE ANTE EMERGENCIA DEL COVID-19 By | Por José Luis Montemayor / Reynosa, Tam.

DR. GABRIEL ROSADO TRIAY. Presidente del Consejo de Administración del Hospital Santander.

After the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the coronavirus outbreak known as Covid-19 as a pandemic, immediate activities for its prevention were carried out on the border. Dr. José Gabriel Rosado Triay, president of the Board of Directors of the Santander Hospital, said that there has been an increase in patient care. “At least 30 percent more people came with the flu or cough because they want to rule out that they have coronavirus, we have a protocol when receiving the patient, they are separated in a special area, although we have not detected cases of Covid-19 the best thing is to stay at home to avoid massive contagions ”, he said. The specialist recommended not to panic due to the messages disseminated by social networks because not everything is true, “you have to assess the source, they ask that you make hot water or consume garlic, it is better to stick to what the authorities say of the country ”. Rosado Triay commented that at the moment there are no immediate tests to detect the coronavirus. “They are handled as confirmatory tests in Mexico City at the Institute of Epidemiological Diagnosis and Reference (Indre), which depends on the Ministry of Health, also at Hospital ABC, we can detect suspicious patients and at that time we report to the Sanitary Jurisdiction and from there the protocol of confirmation of the disease enters ”, he expressed. Coronaviruses are a family of viruses that can cause diseases such as the common cold, severe respiratory syndrome (SARS). In 2019, a new coronavirus was identified in China and was called COVID-19.

ter, noted that the normal human temperature is 36.5 to 37 degrees, but if it is above 37 it is considered a low-grade fever and from 38 it is already fever. “The problem is that if the virus in the patient is still in the incubation period, the disease will not be detected only by temperature,” he said. The cancellation of classes in schools and universities, of sports tournaments, is because it is a new virus for humans, it has never been in contact with it and there are no defenses. “Let us remember that it is the mutation of a virus that normally lived in animals, it seems that in vampires, it change and begins to infect humans, we are without antibodies to this virus and will depend on the intensity of the infection and that there is a series of factors that can affect over 60 years, diabetics, pregnant women, hypertensive patients, cancer treatment patients, “he explained. What is being observed is that mortality is especially for people over 60 years of age. You must do a factor associated with senility, to make it more aggressive. “We must protect ourselves, avoid traveling to Europe or China or be in contact with people who have gone to those places. And with these we must separate ourselves at least a meter away, because it is the scope of the sage droplets when they speak, and the ideal is that they isolate themselves for 14 days and after that time if they do not have fever or discomfort, they can already live with everyone,” He commented. Unlike normal flu, any virus is very contagious, when sneezing or coughing, and the magnitude of the clinical picture is different. Since it is influenza, data similar to the coronavirus appear, such as high fever, general state attack (cut body), “ It hurts to comb their joints and muscles, in those cases, it is necessary to suspect if they were in contact in other countries apart “. As a doctor, he recalls, with the experience of the AH1N1 outbreak 9 years ago, that there are no measures of overreaction to the unknown because it is better to sin a little too much than to trust. “Regarding hospital capacity, there is no capacity to care for thousands of patients in the event of an epidemic,” he said. In these cases the patient enters intensive care, not only does he need a room, he needs ventilators, respiratory support, specialist doctors, nurses. “The coronavirus affects patients, because when it is combined with another factor such as being diabetic, who have a permanent state of inflammation, due to high sugar levels, or if they are asthmatic, who has emphysema, obviously their lungs are at a disadvantage, so what the virus does is cause a severe inflammatory response. ” So the breathing is disturbed, they inspire but the body does not take advantage of the optimal amount of oxygenation, which should be 95 percent, but patients fall below 90, apart with inflamed lungs that depending on what happens they may die because they don’t work normally. María del Refugio López, from the Hospital Hospital Contingency Plan Committee, added that they have preventive actions to attend to patients with Covid-19, to carry out the appropriate protocols.<

Rosacea: the redness on the skin that requires attention ROSÁCEA: EL ENROJECIMIENTO EN LA PIEL QUE REQUIERE ATENCIÓN By | Por José Luis Montemayor / Reynosa, Tam.

DR. EBED DANIEL MARTÍNEZ ZORRILLA. Dermatologist.

10

If you notice that your skin becomes reddish, if your face feels inflamed, it is not acne, you could suffer from rosacea. This is a chronic skin condition that is characterized by what is seen on the patient’s face, it is a redness in the region of the cheekbones, nose, forehead and sometimes the chin. “Besides, there are small veins of small caliber, known as telangiectasias, in addition to being accompanied by papules as if they were pimples, but of different characteristics such as very small pimples, or that the inflamed face is seen”, explained Dr. Ebed Daniel Martínez Zorrilla, who together with doctor Pedro Segundo Martínez Amador, personally attend Dermaclinka. Rosacea is a disorder that mainly affects women, at an age close to 30 years, although it may have appeared in younger and adult people as well, explained the specialist who graduated from the Universidad del Valle de México. The social impact is always negative, because the patient does not look or feel good, so it requires attention. Failure to do so could have complications, among others suffering a rhinophyma, a growth of the nose that can leave sequelae and scars. “But with the correct treatment, the problem of rosacea can be corrected. I think that of 10 patients who come to consult, four are from acne and two arrive at the clinic with this condition”, he said. The exact causes of the appearance of rosacea are not determined, but they are closely related to genetic factors, with a susceptibility of the person’s skin, which is very sensitive and usually very white skin. “With good attention, you can correct the problem, without any problem. Food is a factor that triggers the appearance of rosacea if they drink very hot drinks or use spicy food in their meals, ”he explained. Foods such as achiotes or that include chili can affect, as drinking alcoholic drinks also influences.

Marzo 2020 | FRONTERA DOCTORS

“Not bathing with very hot water can help the problem of redness in the skin not multiply”. The dermatologist explained that an important recommendation is the use of sunscreens because the sun triggers the problem a lot. TREATMENT There are stages in which the patient begins to be treated with the use of creams, specific soaps, sunscreens, but when a problem of redness is moderate or severe, it requires special medications. “This is a problem that cannot be cured because it is a predisposition to our skin, it can be controlled very well, so when the patient is treated for the first time, it requires correct diagnosis”, said the Dermaclinika specialist. He pointed out that patients with rosacea should have as a habit the care of the skin, as of a good diet, for the condition to be corrected. Rosacea maybe the second or third reason for frequent consultation in Dermaclinka, after acne. After a consultation, it is expected that an improvement will be noticed after a month, although that also depends on external factors. “They should stop sunning themselves, not drinking alcoholic drinks and spicy food; the patient’s situation should be improved. The treatment should be handled by skin specialists, with the advice not to indulge in self-medication, because often using the wrong cream can mask a problem and make it evolve”. Dr. Martínez Zorrilla said he is available for any questions of patients who require rosacea.<

FRONTERA DOCTORS | Marzo 2020

Runny nose + cough + headache = sinusitis GOTEO NASAL + TOS + DOLOR DE CABEZA = SINUSITIS This condition can affect the nose, eyes or middle ear, and can also be manifested by profuse nasal discharge, bad-tasting postnasal drip, cough, and headache.

By | Por Redacción / Reynosa, Tam.-

In this winter at the border, extreme precautions must be taken against the cold fronts that are forecast, since they cause diseases such as sinusitis, which, without being considered as serious, should be treated promptly to avoid complications. Sinusitis is an acute or chronic inflammation of the nasal cavities, which are located inside the cheekbones and are around the eyes and behind the nose. The main functions of these cavities are: warm, moisten and filter the air in the nose, so it is common that in the winter months, this inflammation that can last for months or years is worsened, if not treated properly. Dr. Francisco Díaz Cisneros reported that sinusitis can affect not only the nose, but also the eyes and the middle ear, and is regularly manifested by a profuse, thick and colored nasal discharge, with a bad-tasting postnasal drip, cough, congestion of the head and accompanying pain. There are different types of sinusitis: acute, which is the inflammation of the membrane that communicates to the nose, and chronic, which is due to an acute sinusitis poorly cured and aggravated by a hot, dry atmosphere, with irritating gases or by the deficiency of organic defenses in nutrition, said the director of the UMF No. 40 of the IMSS in Reynosa.

Derived from the above, the specialist made the following recommendations to prevent and treat this disease: -Apply wet and hot cloths to the face several times a day. -Drink plenty of fluids to dilute the mucus. -Inhale steam two to four times a day (for example, sit in the bathroom with the shower open). -Use nasal saline several times a day. -Eat lots of fruits and vegetables, which are rich in antioxidants and other chemicals that can boost the immune system and help the body resist infections -Get vaccinated annually against influenza. -Reduce stress. -Wash hands frequently. Similarly, he stressed the importance of seeing a doctor, so that a timely diagnosis is made to prevent the disease from progressing.<

‘In Reynosa my autoimmune liver cirrhosis was cured’ ‘EN REYNOSA CURARON MI CIRROSIS HEPÁTICA AUTOINMUNE’ By | Por José Luis Montemayor / Reynosa, Tam.-

DOCTOR JUAN CARLOS CARAMÉS ARANDA Specialty Surgeon General and Interventional Endoscopist. Especialidad Cirujano General y Endoscopista Intervencionista.

After several years of suffering discomfort that prevented her from moving, Angélica Borbolla, a patient with autoimmune liver cirrhosis, is optimistic. She underwent surgery at the Endoscopic Surgery and Gastroenterology Center by Dr. Juan Carlos Caramés Aranda and his team, when she was in a difficult moment of her health, as a result of liver problems. Angelica Borbolla, came in a very desperate critical situation because she could not walk, “I could not stop, I could not hold my arms, and here in this center they treated me, thank God they treated me and I feel much better, already healed”. The patient explained that there came a time when her pain was so strong that she could not even stop to go to the bathroom, so her husband had to help her, and thanks to the care of Dr. Caramés and the medications they prescribed, she is much better, without discomfort. She pointed out that has improved so much that he can walk on his own and has no pain problems in his stomach, no longer feels discomfort in his body, practically nothing hurts and feels great. “They linked me to 17 esophageal varices, two gastrointestinal ones, which in other institutions did not give me a complete study of the problem I had”, she said. In Mexico, there are mitigation and containment strategies, by stages, and the cases and their contacts have been identified”, said the Mayor. When there is a community contagion, said Dr. Maki, -former Undersecretary for Integration and Development of the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Republic- mitigation and containment measures are changed, avoiding massive events and seeking to avoid some types of greeting, among other measures. As part of World Obesity Day, which was commemorated on March 4, at the initiative of the World Obesity Federation, a campaign was carried out to raise awareness among the population about the correct way to treat obesity, a disease that has stigmatized those who suffer for decades. Experts on the subject spoke about myths and realities of this pandemic that affects 75.2 percent of adults in Mexico, according to data published in the ESANUT 2018 National Health and Nutrition Survey. The new World Obesity Day #WorldObesityDay was established through the World Obesity Federation WOF, and both the World Society of Obesity SMO and the IfaCeltics Laboratories, joined this event to present a new narrative in the treatment of obesity. Dr. Ricardo Luna, president of the World Society of Obesity SMO, said that under this new perspective, it is understood that obesity is a health problem with deep roots. And under the premise of roots -roots in English- an acrostic was made with the initials of the letters: R to officially recognize that obesity is

a chronic and multifactorial disease; Or it refers to observing, monitoring and surveillance of the prevalence of overweight in people; the other O points out that effective strategies for the prevention of this disease must also be observed and implemented. The T corresponds to the treatment, accessible to all people with obesity and the S translates into integrated solutions focused on strengthening the health system. “We are living a very complicated situation in obesity worldwide since around 2 billion people in the world suffer from overweight and obesity, and for this reason, the WOF proposes an international day for obesity in which it offers a strategy titled ‘The Deep Roots of Obesity’. “It is worth mentioning that obesity has multiple causes because there are many types of obesity caused by various factors such as depression, anxiety, endocrine diseases, among others”, said Dr. Luna. For his part, Dr. Hector Esquivias, head of the Department of Continuing Education of the Ramon de la Fuente Muñiz National Institute of Psychiatry (INPRFM), mentioned that people suffering from obesity are discriminated against by the rest of society. “Obesity is a chronic disease that is shaped by multiple factors, not only because the person eats excessively, and that is why we have to change the paradigm of the patient suffering from this condition. “And to change the paradigm, doctors need many other social factors; We need public policies, we need to change things in the environment -even architectural- of cities, but we also need the means”, express the psychiatrist. He said stigma has been reinforced by the content and information that abounds in the media and social networks. “The fact of having started a diet at an early age is associated with experiencing greater stigma throughout life; this means that most of the girls in Mexico who have problems with their weight make their first diet before age 15 so the dress they get fits. “And the fact of experiencing more stigma is also associated with developing eating disorders. For example, it was found that people who were overweight, who had experienced stigma or discrimination, had gone from overweight to obesity 2.5 times more than those who had not experienced stigma”, he explained.<

No one is exempt from having foot problems, ranging from congenital to contagious issues. To address the details of what are, perhaps, the parts of the body that are least paid attention to, the surgeon and specialist Francisco Salazar Ledezma details how common it is to get sick. The doctor from the Regional Universidad Regional de Sureste de Oaxaca (URSE), exemplifies that from a fungus in the skin, which is called dermatomycosis and in the nails, called onychomycosis, there are many conditions related to these parts of the body, passing through buried nails or incarnated (known with the medical term of onicocriptosis). “And from there all the foot problems like plantar fasciitis or arthritis pass. There may also be degenerative processes of the bones of the foot. They are also very frequent diseases derived from diabetes, which is a systemic condition, which attacks the different organs of the body, such as the kidney, arteries, eyes, and brain. “And within this, because diabetes produces peripheral vascular insufficiency, this is that not enough blood reaches the tissues, there is a risk of the formation of ischemic ulcers, or, the diabetic patient passes a process called diabetic polyneuropathy, which attacks the nervous system; to all the sensitive nerves, ”he says. FEET WHAT DO I WANT YOU FOR? At that point Salazar Ledezma adds that a person with “sugar” can prick himself with a needle or step on a “pebble” without feeling pain, but causing a serious problem. “We are talking about those patients who are advanced, neglected or not treated correctly, who do not respect their diet and the specific medical indications are deteriorating. “They reach a time when they can bury a nail and they don’t feel it, they

This results in very infectious diseases such as gangrene. They can be very easily affected since they do not feel that a nail was buried there, the wound is left untreated for weeks and can be complicated, ”he says. NO FEET OR HEAD During almost four decades of experience (twenty of which dedicated to the topic of the feet) this podiatrist, states that on the other hand skin infections are also very common, such as atopic dermatitis (produced by the materials with which they are made socks and footwear). It details that some people produce allergic reactions to the components with which the shoes are manufactured and have eczema, which for popular terms are hives, pimples and can be itchy and scratching with the nails bacteria are sown and infected. “Another common condition is degenerative diseases of the bones of the foot, as is the well-known bunion. They are situations due to improper use of footwear and occurs more in ladies. This for the heels and tight. COLD FEET, HOT HEART The specialist says that it is very important to avoid contagion on the skin and dry them very well after bathing. The use of talc and creams helps. “Another recommendation is not to walk barefoot or step on the ground without shoes because it is an endless source of many parasites and bacteria that can infect us and cause us problems. “It is not necessary to step on carpets, which generally look very clean, but vacuum cleaners do not take traces of fungi and many bacteria do not manage to clean them. You lift them with your feet and have infections, ”he says. While cutting your nails on time and in shape can be a good practice, that is not a guarantee for a person to avoid getting fungus. This is why this doctor asks people to know something very important about the use of nail clippers. “It’s the same with the nail clipper, which must be personal. Everyone must have their own cut and grooming items. Therefore it is very relevant to have a nail clipper for the feet and another for the hands. Each time they are used, they must be washed with detergent. If you can soak them in chlorine for about 20 minutes, rinse them, dry them and store them in an airtight bag with a label so that the family does not get confused, ”he remarks. GET IN THE OTHER’S SHOES Salazar Ledezma repeatedly recommends avoiding putting on other people’s shoes. “Lend me your tennis shoes, lend me your studs to play a sport. It is common among young people who arrive at a soccer field and suddenly, because you get hooked, the studs are exchanged and there they become infected. The flip flops too, because they are very personal items, ”he says. Another of the advice of this podiatrist is to never cut your nails very catchy and itching the skin “putting the scissors in,” because that can cause the nail to be incarnated. “This should be cut straight, a little bit out, and file the corners. Do not put the scissors to give it a beautiful shape or any of those things. “The ladies who go to the pedicure, who go to the beauty sa-

lons. They should bring their own cutting articles and tell the person who is going to do the service, that with those instruments they fix their feet, since it may be the case that in many places they do not have sufficient care and hygiene and can cause fungal infections or blood-borne diseases, ”he warns. “We can avoid all that expense in being careful. Teach our family and our children hygiene with their feet. It seems not, but it is very important, ”he says. Dr. Salazar Ledezma expresses that there are cases of people hiding their feet in the sand of the beach. They hide them or wear closed flip flops, because they have fungus on their nails and do not want people to see them, because they feel sorry for them “and some people feel disgusted.” But he argues that “this is not exclusive to lower or upper class families, but general”, because nail fungus can occur at all social levels and pockets. Rich and poor we are exposed. “If you have just cut your nails and bathed in a gym you can get fungus there, which is very difficult to remove and expensive. Simply because the edge of the nail is open, ”he clarifies. IDOLS WITH MUD FEET Other conditions mentioned by this specialist regarding the feet are congenital, such as children born with an equinovarian foot, which is a thrust inward or the valgus foot, outward. “There is also something known as flatfoot, which is a bad assignment, since true flatfoot is surgical. In other words, the person would not walk if they were born with flat bones. “Rather, we are talking about a lax or very elastic foot, which resolves itself at puberty. When they turn 12 or 13 they begin to correct the problem of elasticity, as the tissues are already grasping more firmly almost that heals alone, but it is common for children to put booties and things on their feet, ”he says. So there are many diseases of the foot and then, he says, come vascular diseases, circulation problems, degenerative processes of people usually older. Although some cases go to the field of angiologists, they are patients who confess they also reach their office. Thus, the podiatrist asks to pay close attention to diseases and infections of the feet that can spread to other parts of the body and recognizes that there is no greater complacency, after being sick than enjoying a healthy and full life.<

CBD, the new cure for anxiety? EL CBD ¿LA NUEVA CURA PARA LA ANSIEDAD? DISEASES

By | Por Ilse Sofie Boehmer / Reynosa, Tam.

In a chaotic world that makes people’s lives more stressful than before, anxiety disorder is a mental illness that has affected thousands and continues to grow in significant percentages over time. CBD has been presented as an alternative treatment of anxiety. Cannabidiol, better known as CBD, is a natural derivative found in the marijuana plant and is commonly used as an oil extract, according to the site heathline.com The figures in the United States indicate that around 40 million people over 18 suffer from a type of mental disorder. Unfortunately, only 36.9 percent of people with the disease come to receive the necessary help. The medications used to calm the muscles and the mind are varied such as alprazolam (Xanax), diazepam (Valium), chlordiazepoxide (Librium). They are considered strong because using them for long periods of time could cause problems with memory, as well as a dependency. Other used are antidepressants. Known as SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors), they include citalopram, escitalopram, fluoxetine, and paroxetine. All are efficient for treatments, but they come with strong side effects, such as dependence, headaches, weight loss, and sexual problems. In recent years, the rise in popularity among cannabis-related products has been seen. This plant should not be seen completely negatively, as it has many different uses such as hemp, which can be used as a source of protein or even to make fibers that can be used for clothing, or even paper. Currently, there is a “boom” in the culture of marijuana is the CBD. Although it contains negative connotations from cannabis, it has excellent medical benefits, since they are natural. Contrary to popular belief, CBD does not contain the chemical THC, which causes the effect of being high.”. The oil interacts with the CB1 and CB2 receptors, which are found in the nervous system and the peripheral nervous system. It is believed to alter serotonin levels, which could drastically help with problems such as anxiety. In experiments seen with rodents, stress reduction has been seen when consuming CBD. To learn more about the subject, medical advice is recommended.<

One of the greatest illusions of a pregnant woman is to know the sex of her baby, this is possible thanks to an ultrasound, but also the method allows to monitor the pregnancy during the whole process. Álvaro Gómez Peña, an obstetric gynecologist, said that all pregnant women should have various ultrasounds as part of their prenatal control. “Ultrasound is a safe method during pregnancy and has not been seen to have any risk for the baby or the mother”, said the specialist in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, who said that during pregnancy it is recommended to have at least three ultrasounds. The first should be done between weeks 11 to 14 and is commonly called genetic echo or first trimester. In this, the number of weeks of pregnancy and the probable date of delivery are calculated, genetic syndromes are ruled out, such as Down Syndrome and a risk calculation is performed for preeclampsia, which

is high blood pressure and premature delivery. “This allows us to perform preventive actions in certain high-risk patients”, express the doctor. The second ultrasound is carried out between weeks 20 to 25 and is called anatomical or structural echo. In this ultrasound, the baby’s organs and limbs are checked in detail to confirm that they have a correct formation. The last one is carried out in the period between weeks 34 to 36 and is the third-trimester ultrasound, where mainly, the growth and position of the baby, the amount of amniotic fluid and the location of the placenta are assessed. “These three ultrasounds provide us with very important information about the baby, so it is recommended that all pregnant patients do it”, added the specialist at the Lancet Clinic, where adequate control is maintained throughout the gestation process. This is thanks to the group of medical specialists in Gynecology and Obstetrics, and Fetal Maternal Medicine, who use ultrasound equipment of the highest quality to offer the best images.

The feet are a very important part of our body because they are responsible for supporting our weight and taking us everywhere, so it is important to take care of them and keep them in good condition. There are some practices that can be done at home in order to pamper them, however, before any health problem it is best to go to the specialist doctor. Five tips are listed below: 1. Saltwater to rest. To rest your feet after an intense and busy day, a good measure is to bathe your feet in salted water. They must first be introduced into plain hot water and then into cold salted water; this will activate blood circulation, neutralize pain and relieve tension. 2. Aloe vera against the hardness In addition to being unsightly, the hardness of the feet can become painful and annoying, so using aloe gel as part of a daily routine helps to avoid and eliminate them. 3. Hydration with olive oil Make a massage on the feet with olive oil before sleeping and put on socks, this way in the morning you will have more hydrated skin and without dead cells.

4. Against bad odor In addition to correct daily hygiene and good drying, it is recommended to use cotton socks to absorb moisture and discard synthetic fibers; further. Preferring leather footwear or natural fabrics will allow the heat produced to escape.

5. Be free! Exposing the skin to the sun when it is not too intense and outdoors is a good way to absorb vitamins and nutrients and rest from wearing shoes; Another option is to use light sandals.

6. Chamomile Four tablespoons of chamomile in a liter of water are used to make an infusion to soften the feet, which will be put in a bucket with the hot liquid.<

‘Women’s Struggle Seeks Respect and Equity’: Maki ‘LUCHA DE LA MUJER BUSCA RESPETO Y EQUIDAD’: MAKI By | Por Redacción / Reynosa, Tam.

Mayor, Maki Esther Ortiz Dominguez, praised women’s participation in activities alluding to International Women’s Day, and their fight to achieve respect and equity, “one when she is strong, united and safe, does things well and will get ahead”. The doctor mentioned that despite the struggle of years and centuries, there are still marked differences related to gender, such as the salary perceptions of women and men, that is a historical lag. “The truth is that we have to standardize the discourse because that standardization is what will give us the strength and the voice to get ahead and be able to overcome this backwardness in all areas”, she said. The municipal president considered that a unique leadership is not needed in the fight for women’s rights, respect, and cessation of femicides, but that the unity of all and the collaboration of all is valuable,”the feminist movement does not need of a single leadership but go together and in unison raise the national agenda. “When many women come together, then we have more strength, and when we are also supported by men, the truth is that we are invincible”. The mayor added that the organizational capacity of women in the country has already been demonstrated, by holding the “One Day Without Us” protest, in which all the women of the City Council also participated. In this city during the commemoration of women, a large group of them held a march together with the head of the Municipal Government, to continue with a press conference in which federal deputies, citizens and municipal officials participated, to conclude with the lighting of purple lights in three government buildings, symbolizing support for women.<

‘We will follow recommendations for coronavirus’ ‘SEGUIREMOS RECOMENDACIONES DE LA SS POR CORONAVIRUS’ By | Por Redacción | Matamoros, Tam.

Given the presence of the coronavirus in several states of the Mexican Republic, the mayor Mario Alberto Lopez Hernandez affirmed that the Government of Matamoros maintains permanent contact with the Ministry of Health in Tamaulipas, who will determine the actions to follow in case of the presence of that strain in the entity. Interviewed by representatives of different media outlets on his return from Mexico City, where he held meetings with federal government officials to promote basic and social infrastructure projects, the municipal president said that concerning the coronavirus, the actions being taken taking are exclusively for prevention. He explained that the Ministry of Health at the federal level is setting the guidelines for the Secretaries of Health of the States “and in the case of Matamoros, we have daily contact, by phone with the head of Health in the entity to mark the actions that we should do in case of a strong incidence of coronavirus”. Lopez Hernandez mentioned that at the moment prevention actions are only carried out through talks from the Municipal Health Secretariat, to recommend the hygiene measures that people must abide by to avoid the presence of this disease. Among the recommendations that the Secretaries of Health of the three levels of government make to the population stand out: frequently wash their hands with water and abundant soap, for 20 seconds. In case of sneezing, cover the mouth and nose with the arm at an internal angle; avoid touching your face, mouth, and nose with dirty hands, as well as cleaning and disinfecting frequent contact surfaces such as decks, handrails, and doorknobs, mainly. To learn more about the subject, a talk was offered to public servants on information about the coronavirus, highlighting that hygiene measures and social awareness are the main preventive factors to face this new strain that started in China.<

Every year the Mexican town of Nuevo Progreso, Tamaulipas, lives one of its most festive days, because it is the date on which a large number of “Winter Texans” say goodbye and begin to return to their places of origin, the vast majority to United States and Canada. And what a way to close the season than with music, culinary snacks and thanks. This is considered by the merchants of this small border town, who prepare some food for Americans to enjoy for free. According to Cristina Hernández, director of the Celebrations Committee, they are working together with the Rio Bravo city council and the Nuevo Progreso Delegation to make March 21 a very special day. “We went to take invitations to the elders of the entire Texas Valley, we have six confirmed mayors who are going to visit us, we put advertising in the trailer parks, where the elderly live and we visited the merchants who support us with Expenses. “The president of Rio Bravo, Carlos Ulivarri, is supporting us and we hope it will be a success, because the event will be on a Saturday. Apart from the ‘Winter Texans’ we are going to have the Texas Valley community that normally goes on weekends and we think it will be a good celebration”, she said. “We will have a rock group for the elderly, folk groups, of the houses of culture so that they come to present themselves and be attractive to tourists. We already know who the king and queen will be. Mister Turista is about to confirm us”, she added. A TRADITION Cristina mentioned the meaning of organizing this traditional event that her ancestors began decades ago for the second consecutive year. “Our parents started it, Chuy Bautista’s father and my mother, Mrs. García, and it’s a day for all those who visit us. It is to say goodbye and it is something very beautiful, because it is a tradition, the American waits for this date to return to their places of origin. “It is a beautiful thing that not all the towns have and here our small border has remained through the years”, she said.
