It’s not like the change happens overnight, but unlike women, men do not carry their child for nine months, so the impact of being a father for the first time is very strong. 1. Get ready, your lifestyle will change According to the teacher Gabriela Martínez, from Tec de Monterrey, the reason for these changes depends on the dynamics of the relationship and the expectations that your partner has with being parents. If a man is accustomed to having a social life, this will continue if the mother continuously resolves his parental responsibility. “I always mention to women that they leave men to be dads, if the woman does not let the father take responsibility and solve all his parental responsibility, he will continue to assume that his only responsibility is to be a provider,” explained the professor of Clinical Psychology and of Health, of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences. In the same way, these changes will also depend on particular situations with respect to affective deficiencies that they have experienced with his own father during childhood.
2. Take care of your mental and emotional health According to ethnographic and anthropological studies, it has been re2. 3. Ask for help, you are not alone Although men usually turn to their family or friends as a support network or support during parenthood, there is already a culture about mental health. “The increase in the search for psychological help has to do with the generational change; millennial parents are more aware of their needs, causing the stigma of talking to a psychologist gradually diminish,” explained teacher Martinez Therefore, some main causes for which parents seek psychological help are depression and anxiety disorders. This psychological help is sought during the first two years of parenting, as the couple is organized and modifies their lifestyle by the arrival of the new member. “This happens because they may feel frustrated that they are not playing a good role as a parent or that their children do not reflect their expectations of achievement,” he said. 4. Adopt good habits to be an exemplary dad Being an exemplary father is a great responsibility since a series of skills must be developed that propitiate and support the integral development of the children. There will be times when routine and daily conflicts will cause the objective to be lost. Caring for children is a mutual responsibility; therefore the fathers who give the bottle, change diapers, seek remedies and prepare their children to go to school are not “helping” are exercising their paternity. <

Although times have changed and are now more accepted, we must not forget that braces are an orthodontic treatment that must be placed by a specialist to people who have teeth misaligned or have other abnormalities. Years ago many people were reluctant to use them, but thanks to the new types and techniques are now much more accepted. However, Andy Alberto Martínez González, an orthodontist, and member of the Mexican Dental Association and of the Mexican Association of Oral Implantology made it clear that for no reason should brackets be placed without being medically indicated.
THE APPLICATION He explained that orthodontics is the branch of general dentistry responsible for the treatment of anomalies of dentomaxillofacial structures. With it the alignment of the teeth is done to achieve harmony and functionality. “The orthodontic treatment consists of brackets, wires and garters; the bracket must be in the correct position in each patient, it is not a standard placement,” he explained. The expert explained that diagnosing the patient is not easy, because you have to do various studies to find out their needs and define how the brackets will be used. “You should see the type of wire, the time you will use it, the position of your placement, if you are going to move fast or slow, if the patient is diabetic, age, among other things,” he said. The brackets are glued with a special resin of great strength but less adhesion to the tooth, which helps it not pigment or stain, it also has color indicators that prevent the piece from being worn when it is removed. He explained that the wire is a natural expander that helps make space for the crowded tooth or bad position is placed, “it’s like a rail,” he explained. On the placement of brackets on upper and lower teeth, he said that it will depend on the medical evaluation and its results.<

SURGERY, UNIQUE TREATMENT Dr. Martinez Ayón said that the treatment for hernias will always be a surgery since there are no medications that correct this condition; and the faster the intervention, the better. “If the mass or pellet increases in volume after an effort it can be a hernia, we check the patient, we even ask for an ultrasound or a tomography if it is necessary because it can give us the most efficient diagnosis,” he said.

There are two types of surgeries, the conventional, that is, the open, and laparoscopic surgery, in which only several small cuts are made where, through a laparoscopic device, the intervention is performed. “The latter offers much better benefits than conventional because there is less pain, recovery is faster, you can perform daily activities and there is less risk of infection,” said the general surgeon laparoscopist. The hernia is an opening in the muscles or in the tissue layer of the abdomen, or groin, where by means of surgery that hole is removed, closed and placed a special mesh of a prosthetic material, which reduces the risk of suffering it again up to three percent. For the operation, the insurance of major medical expenses is accepted, with very accessible prices. <

Dr. Juan Carlos Caramés Aranda co-director and professor of the course said that it aims to acquire more skill in knowledge, as well as practice with biological models, for a greater experience. “These are courses that raise the capacity a lot, the doctor who is acquiring this knowledge, is a long journey full of effort and dedication that all doctors must do to improve patient care,” he said. The specialist and instructor Prashant Kedia highlighted the importance of being updated in Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy for medicine because this technique has changed a lot and was only used for diagnosis. “Now it is more interventionist and allows us to cure some unthinkable ailments in the past. Then as an endoscopist, it is our responsibility and obligation to continue training and development to offer better service to patients,” Prashant Kedia said. Ming-Ming Xu added that contrary to the previous year, this course had greater demand in the doctors, in addition, they particularly have more familiarity with the procedures. “I refer to the procedures of DSD and endoscopy of the third space and that has to do with the interest that exists on this type of technique and with the possibility of offering more procedures than before,” said MingMing Xu.

According to the American Heart Association in the United States (AHA), more than 800 thousand people die each year from cardiovascular diseases, which is equivalent to one-third of all deaths. The numbers show around 2 thousand 200 deaths per day and one death every 40 seconds, an overwhelming number. Having a healthy life is an essential factor to be able to avoid being part of the unfortunate statistics and to be informed is fundamental, for that reason several suggestions to consider to preserve life are listed. Tener una vida saludable es un factor indispensable para poder evitar ser parte de las desafortunadas estadísticas y estar informado es fundamental, por ello se enlistan varias sugerencias a considerar para preservar la vida. cal science, and there is a proliferation of information about cardiovascular diseases, it is also true that such far from attenuated diseases continue to grow. The modus vivendi of today’s society with stress and hustle, coupled with bad eating habits are a strong reason to know that your heart may be resentful. Not all people who suffer heart attacks have the same symptoms. There are those who register only mild to very severe pain. These are the symptoms that should not be ignored: 1. Shortness of breath 2. Oppression, pain in the chest or arms, which can extend to the neck, jaw or back. 3. Vomiting, dizziness, heartburn and abdominal pain. 4. Exaggerated fatigue and tiredness. 5. Problems breathing 6. Stunning. 7. Cold sweat. The average age of heart attacks in men is 65 years, while in women of 71, while sudden cardiac arrest is common in adults between 35 and 45 years. A very important factor to consider is to attend as early as cardiac arrhythmias, such as ventricular tachycardia or bradycardia (with very slow beats). The electrocardiogram is a very effective study to be able to examine the electrical activity of the heart and in Reynosa, there are several certified hospitals with specialists that can carry out this study. The cost is much lower than doing it in the United States..<

Do not hesitate in a medical emergency NO DUDE ANTE UNA EMERGENCIA MÉDICA EMERGENCY
By | Por José Luis Montemayor
It’s midnight and suddenly someone feels a strong twinge in the ear. Somewhere else an elderly person has slipped in the bathroom and has an arm fracture. On the street, a pit bull bites a person and leaves him with a wound in his leg. In a vehicular accident, the driver hurts his spine. At the same time, someone has a heart attack. Where can they go? Each of these cases, and many other cases are treated as a medical emergency and should be addressed immediately. Adequate timely, accurate and high-quality care can be the difference between a serious or no sequel, or in the worst case between life and death. For these unexpected situations, in the emergency area of the Santander Hospital, Dr. Jorge Alfredo Terán Hernández, an emergency physician with the team of specialists and surgical medical emergencies, has been treating all the patients who arrive at the place for more than 10 years. The emergency physicians, are physically in the hospital in all shifts: morning, afternoon, night and weekends 365 days a year. It should be noted that a specialist is a person who has a specialty in Emergency Medicine, with three years of structured training and is certified by the Mexican Council of Emergency Medicine A.C. as established by the General Health Law. The hospital, in addition to always having an emergency doctor on duty, has additional medical and nursing staff that assist in the area. Terán Hernández commented that when multiple patients arrive, they undergo triage, a French term that is used to classify the priority in the need for care according to the problem for which the patient requests medical attention. The aforementioned in order to attend first to patients at risk of death, risk of loss of an organ or function

Terán Hernández indicated that in the case of wounds should be put a clean compressor cloth, make pressure and move the patient, is most appropriate for later in the emergency review if there is an injury of tendons or schedule a reconstruction or plastic surgery, healing, and suture of the injury. “If they start with nausea or vomiting, go to a medical unit to be evaluated, do not leave more than five evacuations or vomiting, which generates dehydration,” he said. In the television programs, you can see the adrenaline running, when a wounded patient arrives to an emergency room. “The programs are performed, not all is true, on one occasion in a program they had a patient with third-degree atrioventricular block, low heart rate which does not allow an adequate cerebral blood flow, which gives syncopes (fainting) I heard that the doctor commented that during his training he had never placed a pacemaker, which in an emergency department cannot be, in any emergency department they know how to do it, it is a primordial procedure for the personnel that works in this area,” he said. The number of emergency cases can vary according to the schedule, which can be three to 15 days, while for a query they reach 30. <

< Julio 2019 | FRONTERA DOCTORS

Do not get play violin music QUE NO LE TOQUEN MÚSICA DE VIOLÍN NEWSBRIEF
By | Por Jordi Saavedra
Also known as “corner spider”, at present the violinist is one of the most dangerous insects in Mexico. His name comes because his cephalothorax (head) has the form of a violin. Of 133 species in the world, there are 36 in Mexico. It is known for its brand in the cephalothorax (head) in the form of a violin. Your size is 1.8 to 3 centimeters long, it can be brown or gray. Coming from South America, it is common in countries such as Guatemala, Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay and Chile. It represents a risk for the population, since its bite is potentially dangerous and can cause death. In case of being bitten, you have to wash the area well, apply ice on the wound and go immediately to a nearby clinic. This spider usually has more activity at night, especially in hot seasons. The species remains active throughout the year, but its activity decreases with the arrival of cold. His usual places during the day are the dark corners, from which he goes out to hunt and hides in little neat places like under gas tanks, behind paintings and furniture. The bite of the arachnid can cause vomiting, fever, nervous system conditions, skin sores that often affect vital organs. The poison causes tissue dissolution and cell death, can cause gangrene and kidney failure. The most vulnerable and prone to death are the elderly or children. Some measures to consider to avoid the appearance of the violinist spider at home are: - Caring for the cleaning of home spaces. - They usually live in dark corners and cracks, so it is recommended to cover them or keep the area clean. - Avoid accumulating objects that serve for a refuge such as jars or cans. Recently it was announced that the antidote to counteract the toxin that produces the bite has been out of the market since 2016. For a couple of years, Mexican companies have sought to develop antidotes against the poison of the arachnid, and in April of this year, a pharmaceutical company announced an antivenom, whose trade name is “Reclusmyn”, which neutralizes the toxicity of the sting of the spider.<

Protect your kid from a ‘heatstroke’ CUIDE A SU CHAMACO DEL ‘GOLPE DE CALOR’ PEDIATRICS
Long periods of sun exposure could affect children due to rapid fluid loss, it is urgent to take them to the doctor.

In the summer and in some regions of the country where temperatures are very high, it is common for children to suffer from “heat stroke” when exposed for a long time to high temperatures. Therefore, doctor Carlos Daniel Torres Luna, highlighted that this pathology is one of the most frequent emergencies in pediatric emergency areas and that it can have severe complications. “It is important that we are all alert to identify and treat it in time because although the complications are usually minimal, most cases recover properly; unless it is a critical case, where seizures or hypotension may occur, that is, low blood pressure,” said the pediatrician. THE CAUSES Torres Luna explained that children are very sensitive to the loss of fluids, due to the small body they have and the high volume of fluids that prolonged exposure to the sun can cause variations in these. “Being a long time in high temperatures can have several consequences, which will vary depending on each child, according to body build or heat tolerance. Although some damages could be disorders at the neurological level,” he explained. He assured in regions such as northern Mexico and the Texas Valley heat stroke could be confused with pathologies that arise in the same season of the year and with similar symptoms. “Dengue, Chikungunya or Zika are sudden, severe, aggressive febrile diseases that can cause pain disorders such as headaches; or with any other infection are some of these,” he said to clarify that these are different from heatstroke. SYMPTOM The pediatrician Torres Luna listed the most common features that occur when suffering from this pathology, such as having a constant and high body temperature, which can exceed 40 degrees Celsius, considering that the normal is 37.

IF YOU SUPECT THAT THE CHILD IS HAVING A HEAT STROKE The doctor recommended that in the event that a minor has heatstroke the first thing is to give him a bath of warm water, never with cold water because of the sudden change in temperature, use compresses of freshwater on his forehead, armpits or abdomen, change it with light clothes and most importantly get medical attention as soon as possible.<

For the Latino or African race there is a tendency to appear this affectation in the skin, it is an indicator of diabetes, but it is not definitive. “Because of the race in Mexicans there is a lot of obesity and sedentary lifestyle, they consume many sugary drinks and soft drinks, all this is associated with insulin resistance; but in medical terms a receptor is stimulated and hyperpigmented the skin to cause hyperkeratosis and papillomatosis, which comes to be increased coloration, hardening of the area and feeling velvet, in common terms.” If you have acanthosis the immediate tips is to go to a doctor, check the inheritance if you have diabetic relatives, obese or sedentary, you have to do a check to rule out diabetes or prediabetes. “If there is diabetes, it is urgent to start your treatment to control diabetes with medication, rather than worrying about putting on creams”, he affirm.< FRONTERA DOCTORS | Julio 2019

The City Council of Reynosa, presided by Dr. Maki Esther Ortiz Dominguez, informed the population that according to forecasts of the National Meteorological Service (SMN), this city would be affected by a heatwave and temperatures will be maintained with thermal sensation of 40 to 46 degrees Celsius. The temperature that will prevail in northern Tamaulipas, according to the forecast, could exceed 41 degrees Celsius during the day, with moderate winds between 10 and 25 km / h, coming from the south-southeast, predominantly with little cloudiness. Given these high temperatures, the government headed by Mayor Maki Ortiz Dominguez, through the Directorate of Health and Vulnerable Groups and the Coordination of Civil Protection and Fire, recommends taking precautionary measures to avoid health problems. It is advisable to take care of the cleaning and motivate the consumption of water in babies, children, and elderly people, without forgetting the pets, who are the ones with the greatest risk of dehydration due to the intense heat. In case of having a cold sensation, or dry mouth, and even fainting, you should seek urgent medical attention to avoid the risk of heatstroke or dehydration that could have fatal consequences It is important that those who need to travel on public roads, wear light clothing in light colors and use a hat or cap to avoid sunstroke, in addition to properly hydrated with bottled water or serum. For its part, Tamaulipas Civil Protection issued a statement to the population to extreme precautions. “The entry of a heatwave will cause a temperature increase mainly in the north of the state,” he said with information from the National Weather Service of the CNA. They point out that there is a low probability of rains during this forecast. “Mainly in the north of the state moderate winds will prevail towards the south-east and thermal sensation higher than the indicated temperature,” it was mentioned.<

By participating in the First Summit of Mayors of North America, the Mayor of Reynosa, Maki Esther Ortiz Dominguez, stressed that the tools to listen and improve the attention of the needs of the population work with good results. For this reason, it seeks to achieve administrative efficiency and citizen contact, laying the foundations of a public policy of social impact in the Reynosa public administration. After noting that the local council became worthy in two consecutive years, 2017 and 2018 of the recognition of the Reynosa government by the federation for the transparent and participatory use of the resources of the Federal Contributions Fund, the mayor indicated that the use of Information and Communication Technologies allow achieving real improvements in transparency, accountability and responsiveness towards citizens with reforms and projects in favor of institutional development and the common good. “In Reynosa we have implemented multiple practices and digital government products have been generated, and in the process we have faced barriers and we learned that we need to decisively promote the use of Information Technologies in the public sector,” said Ortiz Dominguez. In this city, said the mayor, a system was implemented to permanently measure the performance of the garbage collection service, designing the platform called “Locate your truck”, in order to achieve efficiency in the time spent in the collection, through the installation of geo-positioning systems (GPS) in the collection trucks. The foregoing will help to avoid route detours and improve efficiency in fuel consumption, which translates into benefit for the citizen and reduction of costs for the government. The mayor highlighted that the digital platform “Ubica tu Obra” was developed, in order to make available to citizens a consultation tool regarding the physical and financial progress of the Municipal Public Works Integral Plan, whose objectives are related to transparency, the reduction of spaces for corruption and the improvement of accountability.< FRONTERA DOCTORS | Julio 2019

TO KNOW The Lora Turtle, also called golfer or parrot, is a small sea turtle, reaches sexual maturity at 61-91 cm long and weighing up to 45 kilos. These sea turtles have a body dorsoventrally with depression especially, adapted as fins in front of the extremities. As other sea turtles have a horny beak. Their color changes as they mature. The offspring are almost entirely dark gray or black, but mature adults have a yellow-green or white breastplate and a greenish-gray carapace. They reach sexual maturity at the age of 7-15 years. They eat mollusks, crustaceans, jellyfish, seaweed and sea urchins. The young tend to live in floating areas of seaweed in their first years. Then they extend between the northwest waters of the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico during their growth towards sexual maturity.<

José Antonio Jarimba Oliveira was born on the island of Madeira, Portugal. At age 23, he began traveling around the world working for the luxury cruise line Royal Viking Line. Between the eighties and nineties, he met people of many nationalities and visited countries on five continents, which gave him a very enriching cultural experience. In his travels, he had companions with whom he forged a unique friendship. The ships remained ducked for two nights and three days in each place, so this helped him to know many cities. When he finished his studies in hospitality and restaurant administration, Jarimba managed to fulfill some of his main dreams, among others to give a house to his beloved parents, which assured him of his satisfaction and happiness. It was the case of a successful son who went out to make a living abroad, who settled in the United States, but there was something he could not help to avoid, that they (his parents) became sick and died when they entered old age. And worse, he was also beginning to feel ailments. “I felt bad, from the heart, the tissues hurt me, I fell several times, I lost my balance. They injected me, gave me therapies and never looked good, but worse. It was crooked and had consequences because I was misaligned a quarter of an inch,” he said.

Me inyectaban, me daban terapias y nunca quedaba bien, sino peor.

face, it is also possible to observe it. So I looked for universities and institutes that taught about the fetal origin and the bad position of human beings, but none spoke of that. “It was when I decided to undertake on my own a deep study on this subject in which 17 pregnant people participated and as the investigation progressed more surprised was left, because that’s where I discovered that many of the health problems begin in the womb of our mother,” he express. Jarimba developed a health technique that is not really alternative medicine, but “corrective” called symmetry. “It is important that people know how their own body, structure, organs and body fluids work, because what happens when someone is crooked? “They begin to feel pain, the veins are pressed and blood pressure problems originate, stress goes through the neck and back. In that way all the organs are going to fail; not only the heart, the pancreas. Everyone has anomalies! It weakens the immune system. “They can cause heart attacks, breathing problems; the production of insulin in the pancreas is affected, the kidneys are covered and the liver is going to work more because it does not clean the solids well and people start to have serious health problems,” he warned. “THIS IS DIFFERENT” The interviewee, who has stood out as a member of the Chamber of Commerce of McAllen, Texas, explained that the American health system after the Second World War became a business. “I respect doctors a lot, many of them are very good, but most of the time in countries like the United States they pass the patients through so many medications, canes, treadmills, and even wheelchairs. The person suffers, their family suffers and they end up doing more expenses than normal. Erroneously administered medicines damage organs and kill good cells. “Pain is an important warning and people often do not know how to remove it, they live in pain, but they have never been properly aligned or balanced from its structure. They begin to see improvement from the first visit. Every day his body will get used to living better and to a state of health that they did not know,” he added. Jarimba explained that simple habits such as using the wallet in the seatings, the irregular weight of the lady bags or having a bad position for the telephone and the computer can trigger health problems. Similarly, practices such as eating and drinking liquids at the same time. “The heart, the liver and the lungs, all work with the energy of the nutrients, and after eating and drinking the person gives laziness. And it’s because the organs do not have enough energy supply and the blood pressure goes up. “So we must practice new habits that will help us improve our health. If a person is in a wheelchair, he has a 50 percent chance that he can walk alone,” he said. José Antonio Jarimba added that he developed orthopedic techniques and instruments that allow an improvement in a short period of time. <

They support the DIF to reduce the inequality gap APOYAN AL DIF PARA REDUCIR BRECHA DE DESIGUALDAD The Mayor fulfills one of the offers he made during his speech when taking on the office.

Reducing the inequality gap is the commitment of Mayor Mario Alberto López Hernández to support the System for the Integral Development of the Family, an institution that works with dedication, commitment and love for the most needy families. The Mayor mentioned the above when he accompanied his wife Marsella Huerta de López to the inauguration of the recreational space “Todos a Jugar! Smiling to life”, located in the Niños Héroes recreational park and which is adapted for infants with different capacities. In this context, Mayor López recalled what he said on October 1, during his protest as mayor of Matamoros. “I mentioned that one of my commitments would be for no one to be left behind; This is because in Mexico we have many inequalities and among them, that of children, young people and adults with disabilities in its different forms,” he said. Part of that commitment, he added, is with the DIF, with his wife Marsella Huerta de López to continue supporting every action, every project that is undertaken in favor of the most vulnerable families, which occupy the interest of this municipal administration. In his message addressed to the families present, to DIF volunteers and guests, López Hernández thanked the Mexican Chamber of the Construction Industry (CMIC) because with its contributions to the DIF, the System is strengthened with actions such as space recreational that opened the afternoon of this Friday. At the inauguration of the park was present the president of the DIF system of Rio Bravo, Blanca Leticia de León de Ulivarri, who thanked those present, mentioned that her husband the municipal president is working on an agenda to promote joint projects as a region, including Valle Hermoso and San Fernando. Finally, Mayor, López Hernández, summoned us to continue working hard with the DIF, without barriers, because it is a noble institution that helps the homeless, the most unprotected; that helps those who are in extreme poverty inequality. “We will strengthen the DIF day by day, so we are applying resources and can get more benefits to those who have less, especially these children with motor disabilities,” he concluded.<

She confesses that she was in high school when her mother’s moans made her worry too much. The discomfort in her mouth was so strong that when she looked at her constantly desperate, because she did not receive the proper attention, she promised to do something about it. “Due to the lack of ethics or bad information that dentists gave my mother, she suffered for several years from a toothache, because no one could extract it,” says Aurora Ruiz Herrera. Her mother cried a lot, she was very afraid and she saw her pain. “Then I said: I do not want to see my mother suffer anymore, I was small when that happened and that’s how I decided to study for a dental surgeon,” she says.

SERVICE VOCATION This dentist said that as she was studying her career she began to take a special affection, mainly when she saw the changes in her patients. “Seeing them smile and thanking you is the greatest satisfaction one can have. Completely changing the image, returning the chewing function and self-esteem is something that often can’t be expressed in words,” she said. This is the case of a dentist who not only goes home satisfied knowing that she did her job but also takes on her family role and continues to prepare. “I am currently in a specialty in Orthodontics. I must do homework and study, I have exams and I continue to strive every day to be able to bring better service to my patients,” added Aury, as she is also known in Nuevo Progreso. For a decade - she has been working as a dentist and implant dentist - her hands have passed so many mouths that she has lost count, but what has a greater meaning for her is to be able to match the trust that her patients give her. In addition to giving your clinic a first-class service, prices are 70 and up to 80 percent lower than in the United States and Canada, this thanks to the exchange rate in currencies.

Taking a stone and discovering its shape to turn it into an eagle, bear, a boat, a religious image, is a job that Felipe de Jesús Robledo Díaz follows. Sometimes he finds a rock on the road, on the bank of a river and picks it up because he likes its shape. Then he “turns” it into a dog, turtle, owl, according to what the capricious form inspires him. You can paint a boat, a lighthouse or a scene from a marina, with different colors. “I came here because here in Nuevo Progreso there is a lot of tourism and my job is like by the Americans,” said the person who has lived on this border for 20 years. His position is located outside the dentist’s office René Rosas. Robledo Díaz narrated that he began painting pottery and some small oil paintings that were required by the American visitors. The artist does not usually use brushes, he prefers his fingers that come in contact with the oil paintings. The technique is called “finger painting” and is the only one that performs at this border. The prices of the pieces vary between 5 to 20 dollars, in addition, it paints in spoons, that bend them so that they are exhibited better. “Once a lady brought me some silver spoons to paint something and I liked how they looked. From there I kept doing it because they had a solid base paint so it would not be absorbed and have a shine that will remain for many years,” he said. He noted that in his paintings, in which he depicts landscapes, birds, dogs, as well as religious themes that include angels and crosses. Among the crafts is a stone dedicated to the president of the United States, Donald Trump. “Sometimes Americans come and ask me to make certain figures, and then ask the customer what they ask for. “Whoever comes here does not leave without one of my paintings (leaves happy),” he added, “because I do what they want, whatever they ask, we do it with pleasure.” <

How can I forget the legend “I was in Nuevo Progreso” so that everyone would notice? In a bar open to the public called “Why not drinks” the diners, after enjoying a refreshing drink, sign a dollar with their names, to leave them as part of the decoration. In total, they must be more than 250 dollars distributed in the premises, with a decoration that draws attention to the passers-by. “The tradition started when a client left us a twodollar bill in the shape of a heart. And we put it in view. “Later others were placing their names on the wooden walls of the place,” said “El Güero”, who serves the place. Mexican and American visitors visit this border bar, which is in full view of all, with several tables where they can be accommodated to consume their favorite drink. And it is that in Nuevo Progreso it is allowed to cool off, especially in this summer with temperatures that exceed 40 degrees centigrade (104 Fahrenheit). The hours are from 9:00 a.m. to midnight. and they assure you that they have been visited by several personalities such as the singer of Intocable, Ricardo Javier Muñoz, or Irvin Salinas “Pee Wee”. Onen of the most requested drinks is the mango daisy for 4.00 US dollars, but they also ask for “salty dog”, “the cart” or shots of tequila. The beers are for two dollars and the soda for one dollar. This is one of the most popular sites in Nuevo Progreso to have a drink and why not, also take a “selfie” between so much dollar bill stuck in the bar. <
