hat is constipation? First we must consider what is considered a normal bowel movement: one to three

times a day.

Therefore, constipations is defined as passing three or less bowel movements per week, with scarce, hard and dry feces. According to studies, the prevalence of constipation is between 20 to 40% of the population. It occurs more frequently in women, people living a sedentary life, with a diet low on fluids and fiber.

Constipation is not a disease, but a symptom that can be a consequence of a variety of clinical scenarios. We will distinguish between secondary chronic constipation or primary functional constipation.

Chronic secondary constipation: It is considered a consequence of a variety of situations that affect the normal structure or function of the small intestine. Some of the causes are: narrowing of the intestine, colon or rectal cancer, alterations in the distribution of blood vessels as in ischemic colitis, anal fissures, complicated hemorrhoids, rectal prolapse. There are medications that can cause constipation as a side effect such as benzodiazepine, antihypertensive as are calcium antagonists, diuretics, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID’s), analgesics, and anti-acids.

Chronic constipation due to metabolic and endocrine alterations: diabetes mellitus, hypo-thyroidism, uermia, and hypomagnsia.

Chronic constipation due to neurologic diseases: Parkinson’s disease, traumas, dementia, ictus, depressive syndrome, brain tumors, and multiple sclerosis.

Primary functional constipation: Constipation which is not associated with colon lesions, neurological diseases, metabolic disease, or medications.

What are the symptoms? The mains symptom is difficulty to defecate due to the absence of bowel movements, as well as the sensation of bloating.

What are the complications associated with constipation? The symptoms exist as a result of persisting constipation and the repetitive strain at the time of defecation, including: • Hemorrhoids • Anal fissure • Retrocele, or the protrusion of the intestinal wall toward the vagina • Rectal prolapse • Perianal damage Are there symptoms to be alarmed of? In the case of experiencing constipation it is important to identify alarming symptoms that can point to a serious disease and seek medical help for additional evaluations.

Alarming symptoms can include: • Sudden case of constipation after the age of 50 • Weight loss • No reaction to laxatives • Blood in feces • Anemia • History of colorectal cancer

Qué es el estreñimiento? Lo primero es definir lo que consideramos un tránsito o ritmo intestinal normal, que en nuestro medio debe ser de un máximo de tres y un mínimo de una evacuación al día.

Por tanto, definimos estreñimiento de las siguientes formas: De una forma clínica, podemos enunciarlo como aquella situación en la que una persona presenta menos de tres deposiciones a la semana, coincidiendo con presencia de heces duras, de escasa cantidad y más secas.

De forma subjetiva para la persona que lo sufre, se definiría como una disminución del número de veces que evacúa, siendo estas difíciles de expulsar, de menor cantidad o volumen, así como un mayor esfuerzo al evacuar.

Según distintos estudios su prevalencia oscila entre el 20-40%. Es más frecuente en el sexo femenino, en personas con vida sedentaria, con una dieta baja en líquidos y fibra (frutas y verduras).

El estreñimiento no es una enfermedad, sino un síntoma, que puede ser consecuencia de distintas situaciones clínicas.

Distinguiremos entre estreñimiento crónico secundario y el funcional o primario.

Estreñimiento Crónico Secundario.

Se considera a aquel que es consecuencia de diversas situaciones, que afectan a la estructura normal del intestino o que interfieren en su funcionalidad o motilidad, como vemos a continuación: Estreñimiento crónico secundario causas digestivas: Son situaciones en las que existe un compromiso, una dificultad, al paso del bolo fecal a través del intestino. Entre otras causas: Cáncer de colon y recto, enfermedad Inflamatoria Intestinal, especialmente la Enfermedad de Crohn, alteraciones en la vascularización como la colitis isquémica, estenosis de las anastomosis tras una cirugía digestiva, adherencias, fisuras anales, hemorroides complicadas, prolapso rectal, rectocele.

Estreñimiento crónico secundario a consumo de fármacos: Existen medicamentos que como efecto secundario pueden presentar en algunas personas el estreñimiento: Ansiolíticos como las benzodiacepinas, fármacos para el Parkinson como la Levodopa, antidepresivos tricíclicos, antihipertensivos como los antagonistas del calcio, diuréticos, antiinflamatorios no esteroideos (AINEs), fármacos analgésicos derivados de los opiáceos como la morfina, codeína, etc., antiácidos.

Estreñimiento crónico secundario a alteraciones metabólicas y endocrinas: Diabetes Mellitus, hipotiroidismo, insuficiencia renal crónica, hiperparatiroidismo, uremia e hipomagnesemia.

Estreñimiento crónico secundario a enfermedades neurológicas a nivel del sistema nervioso central: Enfermedad de Parkinson, traumatismos, demencias, Ictus, síndrome depresivo, tumores cerebrales y esclerosis múltiple.

Esteñimiento crónico secundario a enfermedades neurológicas sistema nervioso periférico: neuropatía autonómica, ganglioneuromatosis, enfermedad de Hirschsprung o megacolon congénito.

Estreñimiento crónico funcional o primario.

Sería aquella situación de estreñimiento en la que el paciente, a diferencia del apartado anterior, no padece lesiones en colon, enfermedades neurológicas, musculares o metabólicas, así como la ausencia de consumo de fármacos que lo puedan producir. ¿Cuáles son los síntomas? Normalmente se suele referir como una percepción de dificultad para la evacuación o molestias relacionadas con los movimientos intestinales.

El síntoma principal es la imposibilidad para la defecación por ausencia de movimientos intestinales, además de sensación de distensión abdominal y gases como consecuencia de la fermentación de los residuos fecales con las bacterias intestinales, sobre todo de la fibra soluble. ¿Cuáles son las complicaciones del estreñimiento? Existen síntomas que son consecuencia del estreñimiento persistente y el sobre esfuerzo repetitivo para la defecación provoca complicaciones como son: • Hemorroides, por la congestión del plexo hemorroidal.

• Fisura anal como consecuencia del traumatismo de las heces duras sobre el esfínter anal. Esta a su vez puede ser causa de estreñimiento.

• Rectocele, que es el abombamiento de la pared rectal hacia la vagina.

• Prolapso rectal.

• Daño perineal, que se manifiesta con incontinencia urinaria, cistocele o prolapso uterino.

Existen síntomas de Alarma en el estreñimiento? Es importante en la evaluación del estreñimiento detectar síntomas de alarma que puedan orientar hacia una enfermedad grave y precisar exploraciones complementarias, sobre todo pensando en el cáncer de colon. Los síntomas de alarma serian: • Presentación súbita sobre todo después de los 50 años de edad.

• Pérdida de peso.

• Ausencia de respuesta a los laxantes.

• Expulsión de sangre con o sin mucosidad acompañando a la defecación • Presencia de anemia o déficit de hierro (ferropenia) en la biometría hemática.

• Historia familiar de Cáncer colorrectal.

Con la llegada de la temporada decembrina y sus festividades, las personas cambian su alimentación, se olvidan de los platillos saludables y consumen una dieta poco equilibrada.

También comen grandes porciones teniendo como consecuencia un incremento en la báscula debido al exceso de calorías, lo que las lleva después a recurrir a dietas extremas, ejercicios desgastantes y remedios caseros, para bajar de peso.

La licenciada en Nutrición y Ciencias de los Alimentos, Erika Sosa Moreno, explicó que no solamente se sube de peso y se afecta a la figura, sino también a la salud.

NO A LA DIETAS MILAGRO

ALIMENTACIÓN BALANCEADA

La sobresaturación de carbohidratos, proteínas o grasas (macronutrientes) se acumularán en el organismo en forma de grasa, las cuales podrán transformarse en energía para ser quemadas por medio del ejercicio.

Los “atracones”, es decir, comer más de lo que el cuerpo requiere, sin respetar cuando ya se experimentó una sensación de saciedad, además de malestares estomacales pueden acarrear dificultades, tales como indigestión, colitis, gastritis, aumento de triglicéridos, entre otras enfermedades.

“El hígado es uno de los órganos que más sufre cuando hay obesidad debido al gran esfuerzo que realiza para metabolizar las grasas, las personas creen que solamente tiene problemas cuando se consume alcohol pero no es así”, mencionó la experta.

Para obtener los nutrientes necesarios, Sosa Moreno recomendó consumir alimentos balanceados.

“Hay que evitar la comida chatarra porque no aporta nutrientes y contiene sustancias nocivas como los conservadores artificiales, edulcorantes, pesticidas, químicos y hormonas”, advirtió.

Aconsejó tratar de no consumir sales, azúcar refinada, grasas saturadas y harinas y así evitar la acumulación de toxinas en el organismo.

Manifestó que para mantener una alimentación de calidad la base deberá ser el plato del “bien comer”, que es la guía alimentaria recomendada, en dónde se indican los tipos de alimentos y porciones a elegir.

“Es necesario cambiar el menú cada tres semanas para que el metabolismo no se estanque y se puedan obtener mejores resultados”, apuntó.

Como sugerencia agregó, llevar una planeación para poder cumplir con el menú indicado, pues debido al acelerado ritmo de vida actual puede complicarse un poco, por lo que preparar un día antes los alimentos es una buena opción.

Los médicos especialistas de CITMER cuentan con tecnología única en todo México, pues son pioneros en la evaluación del estrés oxidativo a través de inteligencia artificial.

El director general de CITMER, Israel Maldonado Rosas, explicó que el mejor método para medir y cuantificar el estrés oxidativo es “MiOXSYS” “Se trata de una técnica muy sencilla que evalúa de forma rápida y económica el estrés oxidativo en los espermatozoides.

CITMER CRIOPRESERVACIÓN DE ÓVULOS

Israel Maldonado Rosas, director general de CITMER 14 años de experiencia en reproducción asistida, biólogo, máster en embriología clínica, experto en vitrificación de óvulos y embriones, Según estadísticas de “El Fondo de las Naciones Unidas para la Infancia” (UNICEF), revelaron que cada vez son más las mujeres que retrasan su maternidad hasta después de los 30 años, esto debido a que prefieren desarrollarse profesionalmente antes de formar una familia.

“Todas las mujeres nacen con cierto número de óvulos y estos van creciendo junto a ellas. Los óvulos de una mujer de 40 o 41 años ya no tienen la misma calidad de aquellas de 25 años”, señaló Maldonado Rosas.

Según el médico, la calidad ovular varía con la edad de la mujer.

“Existen unas patologías que se van formando en los ovocitos (célula germinal femenina que está en proceso de convertirse en un óvulo maduro), que se llaman aneuploudía, estas son segregaciones anormales de los cromosomas.

“Los óvulos cuando van madurando van segregando los cromosomas a la mitad, porque necesitan tener un número haploide para que la mitad de la información genética de la mamá se una con la mitad del papá, y luego se forme un bebé con 23 pares de cromosomas”, subrayó.

Aquellos óvulos con edad más avanzada pierden la capacidad de dividir sus cromosomas en un número exacto, lo que propicia la alta probabilidad de que las mujeres tengan un hijo con síndrome de Down.

“Hay otras aneuploidías que afectan a los embriones causando el nacimiento de un bebé con alguna enfermedad, impidiendo la implantación y causando el aborto”, aseguró el médico.

DIAGNÓSTICO GENÉTICO IMPLANTACIONAL

En CITMER cuentan con el Diagnóstico Genético Implantacional, el cual consiste en extraer unas células a los embriones de la madre para analizarlos y conocer su estatus cromosómico.

“Si llegamos a encontrar un embrión normal lo transferimos a la madre, quién tendrá las mismas posibilidades de quedar embarazada como si hubiese tenido 28 o 29 años”, reiteró Israel Maldonado.

DONACIÓN DE ÓVULOS

En algunos casos no es posible lograr la maternidad con los óvulos de la paciente, por lo que se recurre a los óvulos de una donadora.

“La probabilidad de que un óvulo que criopreservas sobreviva es del 96 por ciento, y las tasas de embarazo son muy similares. Esta técnica es de las más delicadas que hay en la reproducción asistida, así que se recomiendo buscar a especialistas que estén realmente calificados para hacerlo”, recalcó el médico Otra técnica que CITMER ha desarrollado, y emplea de manera exitosa hasta en el 97 por ciento de los casos es la que transfieren en etapa de blastocisto, con la finalidad de garantizar el embarazo.

There is a lot of talk about the epidemics that are ending the health of millions and the importance of having a balanced diet, but specifically, what should we do to detoxify our body and leave the danger zone? ...

By José Manuel Meza According to figures from the World Health Organization (WHO) every six seconds a person dies because of diabetes, for every two new cases that are registered in that same and small period of time. This disease, as well as cardiovascular diseases, have become a global epidemic and although there is already a lot of information, the problem continues to increases.

And is that currently one in 11 people suffer from diabetes in the world and more than 422 million who suffer from it, up from the 108 million that were in the early eighties.

In flat numbers in the last 40 years this evil practically tripled and, although most of it is attended by doctors, the role of nutritionists is no less important, since it is through poor eating habits that the people of the world are still sick, according to Ana Karen Martínez Espinosa, of the Multidisciplinary Diabetes Center of the Border.

She also has a degree in nutrition from the Universidad Autonoma de Tamaulipas (UAT) and who has a diploma course in diabetes education by Remedi and La Salle University, said that the basis of any treatment will always be a good diet.

“Most people do not eat healthy, which in the long run will have repercussions, mostly because of the genetic burden we have as a precursor to diabetic parents and also due to a sedentary lifestyle.

“Nowadays people spend more time using technology than physical activation and they keep watching series or videos on their cell phone, which results in not getting enough exercise, that’s why these diseases are intrinsically related to bad habits,” she illustrated.

NOT ALL THAT SHINES IS GOLD

Martínez Espinosa acknowledged that although it is known that the intake of

certain foods are harmful there is still much ignorance about this issue.

“We have certain beliefs that some foods, because they are nutritious, we can eat them in excess, or there is not so much limitation because they are fruits, however, they can also give us problems, because they are fructose, which is sugar.

“Although they are considered healthy they will raise our glucose levels and that will turn into fat if we do not do a physical activity, if we do not burn them,” she said.

The specialist remarked that it is of vital importance to learn to know how the metabolism works and what are the portions of calories that are being ingested, because that will allow us to be more conscious about the products that directly affect the organism.

For example: a glass with 26 milliliters of orange juice becomes 23 grams of sugar in the blood. Therefore when someone consumes a liter, (which is commonly available in the supermarket or in the self-service stores), is getting into the body just under 100 grams of sugar. This is a toxic bomb for anyone.

“The advisable thing is to consume the fruits by pieces, that is to say, not to make them juice by the same. To prepare an orange juice on average about five are needed, which when squeezed lose an amount of fiber that the fruit has.

“And fiber is what helps us keep our glucose levels more stable, because it does not absorb that sugar so quickly.

“When they make juice, they lose that fiber, in addition to giving us more calories,” she warned.

LEARN TO EAT

Mucho se habla de las epidemias que están acabando la salud de millones y la importancia de tener una alimentación balanceada, pero en lo específico, ¿qué debemos hacer para desintoxicar nuestro cuerpo y salir de la zona de peligro?…

Por José Manuel Meza De acuerdo con cifras de la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) cada seis segundos muere una persona a causa de la diabetes, por cada dos nuevos casos que se registran en ese mismo y pequeño lapso de tiempo. Esta enfermedad, así como los padecimientos cardiovasculares, se han vuelto una epidemia global y a pesar de que ya existe mucha información el problema se sigue exponenciando.

Y es que en la actualidad una de cada 11 personas padecen diabetes en el mundo y suman más de 422 millones las que la padecen, por 108 millones que había a principios de los años ochenta.

En números llanos en los últimos 40 años este mal prácticamente se triplicó y, a pesar de que en su gran mayoría es atendido por los médicos, el rol de los nutriólogos no es menos importante, ya que es por medio de los malos hábitos alimenticios que los habitantes del mundo se siguen enfermando, de acuerdo con Ana Karen Martínez Espinosa, del Centro Multidisciplinario de Diabetes de la Frontera.

La también licenciada en nutrición por la Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas (UAT) y quien cuenta con diplomados de educación en diabetes por Remedi y la Universidad La Salle, comentó que la base de cualquier tratamiento va a ser siempre una buena alimentación.

“La mayoría de la gente no come saludable, lo cual a la larga va a tener repercusiones, más que nada por la carga genética que tenemos como antecedente de padres

diabéticos y también por el sedentarismo.

“Hoy en día las personas le dedican más tiempo al uso de la tecnología que a la activación física y permanecen viendo series o videos en su teléfono celular, que ya no hacen suficiente ejercicio, es por eso que dichas enfermedades están intrínsecamente relacionadas con los malos hábitos”, ilustró.

NO TODO LO QUE BRILLA ES ORO

Martínez Espinosa reconoció que aunque se sabe que la ingesta de ciertos alimentos son nocivos, sigue habiendo mucha ignorancia en torno a este tema.

“Tenemos ciertas creencias de que algunos alimentos, por ser nutritivos los podemos comer en exceso, o no hay tanta limitación porque son frutas; no obstante, también pueden darnos problemas, porque tienen fructuosa, que es azúcar.

“Aunque se considera que son saludables van a elevar nuestros niveles de glucosa y esos se van a convertir en grasa si no hacemos una actividad física, si no los quemamos”, ejemplificó.

La especialista remarcó que es de vital importancia aprender a conocer cómo funciona el metabolismo y cuáles son las porciones de calorías que se están ingiriendo, porque eso permitirá estar más conscientes sobre los productos que afectan directamente al organismo.

Por ejemplo: un vaso con 26 mililitros de jugo de naranja se convierte en 23 gramos de azúcar en la sangre. Por lo tanto cuando alguien consume un litro, (que comúnmente se consigue en el supermercado o en las tiendas de autoservicio), se está metiendo al cuerpo poco menos de 100 gramos de azúcar. Esto es una bomba tóxica para cualquier persona.

“Lo recomendable es consumir las frutas en pieza, es decir, no hacerlas jugo por lo mismo. Para preparar un jugo de naranja en promedio se necesitan unas cinco, que al exprimirlas pierden una cantidad de fibra que tiene la fruta.

APRENDER A COMER

Martínez Espinosa explicó que también hay que saber diferenciar las cargas calóricas en el caso del pan y los cereales, ya que la gran mayoría son elaborados con harinas refinadas (gluten), aunque lo ideal sería consumir los de granos enteros.

“Un cereal integral y uno normal te van

a subir de peso igual, porque básicamente tienen las mismas calorías. La diferencia es la cantidad de fibra. Obviamente los cereales integrales van a hacer que los niveles de azúcar no se eleven tan rápido como los cereales refinados”, ejemplificó.

Y dijo que existen alimentos adictivos que le hacen mucho daño al cuerpo, principalmente todos aquellos que son altos en azúcares como los carbohidratos (ya que son un estimulante), así como los que son procesados, dado que tienen químicos y toxinas que se van acumulando en el cuerpo y los riñones sufren para eliminarlos.

“Hay que recordar que la mayoría contienen azúcar. No únicamente los alimentos dulces como las frutas, como la miel, sino también las legumbres como los frijoles, las lentejas, y los cereales también, la tortilla, la papa…

“Una clave para desintoxicarse es dormir y descansar bien, de seis a ocho horas diarias; tomar suficiente agua y hacer un poquito de actividad física y mediante la alimentación es primordial eliminar alimentos procesados, congelados o que tengan una preparación previa, porque todos esos están llenos de conservadores que a la larga nos van a intoxicar”, subrayó la nutrióloga.

Enfatizó en que la alimentación debe ser la más limpia y sana posible.

“El pan de barra mejor cambiarlo por cereales integrales como la avena, en lugar de un cereal de caja, por ejemplo”, agregó.

METABOLISMO LENTO

Martínez Espinosa aceptó que hay personas que se esfuerzan por bajar de peso, pero su metabolismo se encuentra lento y les cuesta mucho.

Y reconoció que a pesar de que circula demasiada información acerca del cuidado de la salud, hoy en día muy pocos saben acerca de la existencia de un hongo tan dañino en el organismo como lo es el cándida, el cual hace tardío el funcionamiento del metabolismo.

“De hecho este hongo es una levadura que es común que la desarrollemos y que está presente en nuestro intestino. Se alimenta de cosas que comúnmente comemos, es decir, una ingesta alta en azúcares, endulcorantes sintéticos y el alcohol.

“Si nosotros tenemos un sistema inmunológico debilitado, al consumir muchos productos que alimentan esta levadura, pues empieza a hacer un daño en nuestro organismo”, señaló.

La nutrióloga también puso en relieve la importancia de dejar de consumir grasas malas y cambiarlas por buenas. Para ello se recomienda cocinar con aceite de aguacate, de oliva o de coco, que de acuerdo con expertos puede ayudar a disminuir el hongo cándida.

“Existen diversos tipos y como siempre la gente pregunta cuál es el mejor. Lo que yo recomiendo y vamos a decir que es rey de los aceites, el de oliva, porque junto con

el de coco resiste mejor la temperatura.

“Por eso es mejor cocinar con aceite de oliva o aceite de coco, pero el de coco al ser alto en grasa saturada en exceso también nos puede perjudicar”, aseguró.

EL ESTRÉS FACTOR EN CONTRA

Diversos estudios indican que los seres humanos o tienen un sistema nervioso pasivo o lo tienen activo, y de que el último produce adrenalina, la cual estrecha los vasos sanguíneos, provocando en un mediano y largo plazo un daño a los órganos.

Al respecto la nutrióloga reafirmó que el metabolismo se afecta ya sea por alguna inflamación, por una disfunción digestiva y también por tener problemas de mucho estrés.

“Y todo eso va haciendo que la persona consuma más alimentos que no van a ser buenos”, afirmó.

Para ello la glándula tiroides desempeña una función muy importante en el cuerpo humano, ya que es la encargada de gestionar el metabolismo; no obstante otro de los problemas que la afectan son los trastornos hormonales.

“Un mal funcionamiento no solamente en lo que es la tiroides, sino también en el hígado, en la vesícula, en los ovarios o las glándulas suprarrenales también van a perjudicar nuestra asimilación de los alimentos”, refirió.

Y aunque se dice que el consumo excesivo de algunos productos puede afectar la tiroides y hacer lento el metabolismo, mucha gente ignora que la soya, el cacahuate, la yuca y el repollo pueden detonar estos problemas.

“Más que nada porque éstos son alimentos indigestos. Al consumirlos demasiado van a provocar gases, porque tienen en su composición una fibra insoluble y los compuestos azufrados que van a causar que se produzcan mayores flatulencias y dificultad para digerirlas.

“Por ejemplo, la porción de cacahuates que debe comer una persona y no todos los días, son 30 gramos, que son 20 unidades, ya que en suma contienen de 70 a 100 calorías.

“Pero mucha gente se come no nada más esas 20 unidades, sino toda una bolsa y el exceso de calorías y de grasa va a entorpecer el metabolismo”, argumentó Martínez Espinosa.

LA MENTIRA DEL SIGLO

SIN EMBARGO…

En cambio, el potasio sí le viene bien al organismo y ayuda a desinflamar.

“Lo encontramos no nada más en frutas como el plátano, sino también en el tomate.

Lo que nos va a ayudar es a darnos un mayor control de ciertas funciones metabólicas, para regular los niveles de presión arterial.

“El aguacate también es rico en grasas buenas, que nos van a beneficiar a la desinflamación celular, pero atención: la ración o la porción es un tercio de pieza. A pesar de que trae grasas buenas no vamos a comerlo en exceso porque también puede saturarnos”, aseguró.

Por otra parte, la nutrióloga comentó que los aminoácidos son buenos, porque aportan una fuente importante de proteína.

“Entre más proteína o masa muscular tenga una persona también va a acelerar el metabolismo. Una de las cosas: cuando alguien hace una dieta muy estricta y pierde masa muscular su metabolismo se ve afectado, por eso se recomienda que el plan de alimentación no sea tan estricto.

“Si ponemos a adelgazar a una mujer y un hombre veremos que él bajará más rápido de peso porque su masa muscular es más alta. Entonces una buena fuente de aminoácidos en la alimentación nos va a ayudar a construir más proteínas”, comparó.

Destacó que los aminoácidos se pueden encontrar por medio de las proteínas animales como las carnes, en el pollo, atún, las sardinas; en el huevo y algunas legumbres.

IMPORTANTE RECOMENDACIÓN

Cual sea el caso, la especialista ponderó la necesidad de visualizar un plato de comida con proteína, con verduras y con cereal.

“Entre más grupos de alimentos incluyamos y en entre más colorido se vea nuestro platillo, pues mayores nutrientes vamos a obtener de ellos.

“Siempre es recomendable que la mitad esté lleno de verduras, porque aparte de que nos van a aportar una buena cantidad de fibra, son bajas en calorías y ricas en vitaminas y minerales.

“Y la otra mitad la podemos dividir, con proteína, pollo, pescado, carne de origen animal, junto con un cereal o una legumbre”, manifestó.

Aludiendo a que existen muchos buenos alimentos para el organismo, si algo pudiera considerarse una panacea la doctora señaló que esa es el agua.

“Porque es fundamental, porque no nos va a aportar calorías y nos va ayudar a tener un poco más de saciedad.

“También nos va ayudar a hidratar el cuerpo. Entre mejor esté hidratado nuestro metabolismo y las grasas funciona mejor. La sangre se hidrata y nuestra masa corporal aumenta, porque el músculo hay que recordar que está compuesto por agua y también por los aminoácidos, así que ésta es básica para una buena salud y una buena digestión”, agregó.

Por último, para quienes son asiduos al café, expresó la nutrióloga que se recomienda siempre y cuando una persona no padezca de hipertensión, o bien, consumirlo descafeinado.

“Si es de grano nos va a aportar los antioxidantes necesarios para que nuestro cuerpo y el metabolismo se active”, mencionó Martínez Espinosa.

Por ello, la visita el médico no solamente es importante, sino también la del nutriólogo y estar atentos a las comidas que le harán bien al cuerpo, ya que la mayoría de las veces es por los desórdenes alimenticios, que la salud se pierde.

Menopause is a stage of many changes in a woman’s life, but what happens when breast cancer appears? Radiation oncologist Marco Antonio Corona Díaz explains it.

La menopausia es una etapa de muchos cambios en la vida de una mujer, pero ¿qué sucede cuándo aparece el cáncer de mama? El radiooncólogo Marco Antonio Corona Díaz lo explica.

Estos pueden ser bochornos, molestias vaginales como resequedad o dolor al tener relaciones sexuales, un mayor riesgo de padecer osteoporosis, depresión, ansiedad, alteraciones en el peso y depresión.

Pero en esta etapa no solamente aparece la menopausia, sino que, al aumentar la edad también lo hace el riesgo de sufrir cáncer de mama.

La Asociación de Mujeres Profesionistas de Reynosa, A.C. (Amprac), realizaron la conferencia titulada “Cáncer de Mama en la Menopausia”, impartida por el doctor Marco Antonio Corona Díaz, especialista en Radiooncología, con la finalidad de orientar a las mujeres sobre dicho tema. ¿QUÉ ES EL CÁNCER?

Corona Díaz explicó que el cáncer es un conjunto de enfermedades en las que hay una alteración en el equilibrio de las células, el cual produce que se repliquen con errores, se acumulen y formen tumores.

“Todos estamos formados por células que tienen un tiempo de vida y de muerte, por lo que estamos en un recambio, todo se va renovando de una manera ordenada pero al llegar una alteración que puede ser genética, un virus, provocada por el cigarro o una radiación muy intensa genera una mutación que evitará que mueran”, detalló.

De acuerdo con el especialista en traumatología Mariano De Jesús Virgen León, esta cirugía es de mínima invasión, se realiza cuando la artritis está presente sólo en una parte de la articulación (mayormente se presenta en la rodilla).

Y varia la duración de dicho procedimiento dependiendo el tipo de lesión.

“Por ejemplo: si hay que tomarle un injerto al paciente, si es por auto injerto; si es por aloinjerto, de banco de hueso; si es un menisco pueden ser 45 minutos del procedimiento, el doble si son los dos meniscos y si es un ligamento cruzado, puede tardar hasta dos horas”, explicó.

Agregó que se hace con pequeñas incisiones de 3 a 5 pulgadas aproximadamente para que el tiempo de recuperación sea más corto y en ella se extraen tejido y hueso dañados de la articulación de la rodilla y resto de la ésta se conserva.

PADECIMIENTOS QUE CORRIGE

Virgen León detalló que es un procedimiento que se hace para tratar diversos padecimientos como: lesiones de menisco, ligamentos o de cartílago en rodillas entre otros.

“Aunque la artroscopia no es exclusiva de la rodillas, se puede realizar también en tobillos, hombros, codo, cadera, muñeca, por lo general lo que más hacemos es artroscopia de rodilla y de hombro y cada procedimiento es muy diferente, en duración y recuperación”, espetó el médico.

Por otro lado mencionó que la incapacidad del paciente dependerá del procedimiento que se le realice; en caso de que se repare el menisco de un paciente, al otro día ya se puede parar, apoyar y caminar, pero para que este listo para actividades pesadas puede pasar hasta un mes.

CAMINO DIRECTO A LA ARTROSCOPIA

Para el ortopedista Mariano De Jesús Virgen León, mayormente se presentan a consulta deportistas, pacientes de todas las edades y algunos presentan un desgaste severo en la rodilla.

“A éstos se les hace una limpieza articular, se introducen los elementos y la cámara artroscópica y se puede reparar el cartílago, el menisco, una limpieza en

general de la rodilla para que el paciente presente nueva vida en la rodilla, si es un paciente joven tratamos de preservar lo más que se pueda de la rodilla”, apuntó.

Añadió que pueden ser lesiones en deportistas, recreativas o degenerativas éstas últimas en pacientes de edad mayor.

DEGENEREACION DE ARTICULACIONES

Respecto a la degeneración, el traumatólogo profundizó que se presenta generalmente por algún tipo de lesión, cuando ya hay un daño al cartílago que ya ha avanzado hasta la parte ósea.

“Es a partir de los 40 años que se puede determinar como degeneraciones tempranas, es decir, artrosis tempranas y es cuando se utiliza la artroscopia, pues ésta se presenta en edades más avanzadas, pasando los 60 años”, lamentó.

Señaló que para cuidar las articulaciones lo único que se recomienda es el control del peso, pues cuando una articulación sobre cargada de fuerza por un peso fuera de rango, se acelera prematuramente el desgaste de cualquier articulación “Es como traer cargando un costal de cemento de 20 o 40 kilogramos las 24 horas del día los 365 del año; si traes soportando esos kilos en la rodilla, va a multiplicar la fuerza que se tiene que hacer para soportarlo y va a producir una sobre carga excesiva de las articulaciones, a mediano y largo plazo”, pronosticó.

REGENERAR ARTICULACIONES

El médico aseveró que la artroscopia es uno de los principales procedimientos para corregir daños en las articulaciones, pero que hay otras opciones como colocar plasma rico en plaquetas si es una lesión en el cartílago, por medio de unas micro perforaciones; tratando de que tu propio hueso a través de éstas produzcan un seudocartílago, es decir, algo similar aunque no tan bueno como con el que se nace.

“Además de otras opciones como: medicamentos que se puede poner intraarticulares y dentro de la rodilla, es un tipo de colágeno para evitar fricciones sobre el área que ya está dañada por lo general se utiliza colágeno de alto peso molecular”, ejemplificó.

Además del colágeno hidrolizado, glucosamina, condrioitina, que Virgen León dijo, son condroprotectores o medicamentos que se dan para fortalecer el cartílago, si éste tiene buenas condiciones aún.

“Pero cuando ya hay una lesión en el cartílago o ya hubo un trauma en el cartílago y se abrió, no hay algo que se pueda poner o tomar para que regenere el cartílago”, puntualizó.

Destacó que es bueno que se realice una artroscopia, pues por medio de la cámara, ven y analizan la situación desde una perspectiva directa y se toma las decisión si el

DIAGNÓSTICO

El médico Mariano de Jesús Virgen León externó que el especialista idóneo para realizar una artroscopia es el traumatólogo, ya que no hay ninguna otra especialidad que maneje lo que éstos hacen.

Para llegar a un diagnóstico reveló que primeramente se requiere la revisión de un traumatólogo, el sabe que es lo que se requiere y solicitarán estudios en caso de ser necesario; tras la revisión se diagnostica.

“Pero no si no se visita el especialista y dejamos que la lesión avance es algo que te puede afectar a ti, hemos visto pacientes con lesiones viejas, y mientras más pase el tiempo más grave puede ser el daño, mismo que va a provocar micromovimientos, generando un desgaste en la rodilla; de ser así, ni la prótesis de rodilla servirá”, aclaró el médico.

Contó que no se puede poner prótesis a pacientes a temprana edad, porque ésta tiene un promedio de vida y que los pacientes que ya tienen 20 años con una lesión de ligamento cruzado no tratada tienen la artrosis instalada e irreversible a pasar de que se realicen la artroscopia.

IDENTIFICAR EL PADECIMIENTO

Virgen León indicó que hay varios padecimientos que causan la degeneración en las articulaciones como es la artrosis degenerativa, es decir, desgaste por el tiempo, uso rudo o uso normal.

La artrosis por artritis, es un proceso autoinmune, donde el propio cuerpo ataca las articulaciones y las va destruyendo.

Ambas afectan a la articulación, las dos destruyen y es más dañina la artrosis por

artritis que la artrosis degenerativa, ésta ultima tarda más tiempo, mientras que la primera es autoinmune y una destrucción mucho más rápida.

“También tenemos artrosis por secuela de artritis séptica no tratada, es decir, que esa articulación se infectó, en edad pediátrica, no se trato a tiempo, la articulación se destruyó porque hubo pus y se llegó a un proceso de artrosis temprana”, concluyó.

DIAGNÓSTICO Y DETECCIÓN

El especialista apuntó que cualquier persona está predispuesta a la artrosis y para detectarla los primero es acudir a consulta con el especialista, es decir el traumatólogo especialista para una revisión.

“Actualmente tienen la mala costumbre de hacer consultas por WhatsApp y uno necesita revisar al paciente en persona y hacer una amplia exploración, en la parte afectada y en base a ello, nosotros ya tenemos un diagnóstico clínico y si tenemos alguna duda, la podemos complementar con alguna radiografía, resonancia o tomografía, pero no es un caso estándar”, aseguró.

Agregó que para evitar una lesión en las articulaciones se deben evitar caídas, golpees, si se tiene actividad deportiva y si se es una persona sedentaria con un dolor crónico en alguna coyuntura con alguna lesión se tiene que atender con un especialista.

“O bien si se tuvo algún accidente o traumatismo, consultar al especialista y con ello quiero decir, de manera oportuna; eso da la oportunidad de salvar o de tener menos complicaciones por una lesión no tratada”, afirmó.

Perfect male silhouette When diet and exercise are not enough to have an athletic and fit body, liposuction for men is the indicated procedure.

Men also worry about their appearance, more and more of them look for a good image and sometimes, exercise and good eating habits are not enough, for this, there is male liposuction.

Liposuction is a medical treatment of cosmetic surgery that consists of “sucking” the subcutaneous fat, introducing a cannula under the skin, which is a tubular medical device made of plastic, rubber or metal.

Plastic surgeon, Guillermo Castaño Ruiz, explained that, through this technique, the silhouette can be remodeled through the removal of fat from various areas of the body.

In males, the areas where most fat is extracted are the abdomen, chest and jowls.

Although it is not very common, in some cases there may also be accumulation in the hips.

To perform liposuction in both men and women, the technique is the same, however, since they have different aesthetics, different criteria will be used to perform it, but the goal is always to mold the figure.

Another of its purpose is to show a more athletic body so that when extracting fat from certain areas it is sought that the muscles look more defined, being the most common the abdomen, chest and back.

Castaño Ruiz said that this procedure is recommended in people who do not have morbid obesity and that it is increasingly common for men to undergo cosmetic surgeries.

Regarding the medical procedure, the specialist said that if the laboratory tests and previous cardiological assessment show good results and the procedure lasts less than an hour and a half, in addition to being performed by a certified plastic surgeon, the risks of complications are minimal.

Going with a certified plastic surgeon is perhaps the most important point to take in-

to account, because failure to do so can result in serious consequences for the patient.

“In the hands of a person who is not trained, that is, not a certified plastic surgeon may have deformities, sinking and grooves in the skin, and during excessive surgical times increases the likelihood of pulmonary embolism,” he said.

In addition, it must be kept in mind that this surgery is not a definitive method to lose weight.

perfecta Cuando la dieta y el ejercicio no son suficientes para tener un cuerpo atlético y en forma, la liposucción para hombres es el procedimiento indicado.

Los hombres también se preocupan por su apariencia, cada vez más ellos buscan lucir una buena imagen y en ocasiones, el ejercicio y los buenos hábitos alimenticios no son suficientes, para ello, existe la liposucción masculina.

La liposucción es un tratamiento médico de cirugía estética que consiste en “succionar” la grasa subcutánea, introduciendo bajo la piel una cánula, que es un dispositivo médico tubular de plástico, caucho o metal.

El cirujano plástico, Guillermo Castaño Ruiz, explicó que, por medio de esta técnica se puede realizar un remodelado de la silueta a través de la extracción de grasa de varias zonas del cuerpo.

En los varones, las zonas de donde mayormente se extrae más grasa en el abdomen, pecho y papada.

Aunque no es muy común, en algunos casos también puede presentarse acumulación en las caderas.

Para realizar la liposucción tanto en hombres, como en mujeres, la técnica es la misma, sin embargo, al lucir estéticas diversas, se utilizarán diferentes criterios para realizarla, pero la meta es siempre, moldear la figura.

Otra de su finalidad es mostrar un cuerpo más atlético por lo que al extraer grasa de determinadas zonas se busca que los músculos luzcan más definidos, siendo las más comunes la del abdomen, pecho y espalda.

Castaño Ruiz dijo que este procedimiento está recomendado en personas que no tengan obesidad mórbida y que afirmó que cada vez es más frecuente que los hombres se sometan a cirugías estéticas.

Sobre el procedimiento médico el especialista dijo que si los exámenes de laboratorio y valoración cardiológica previos arrojan buenos resultados y el procedimiento tiene una duración menor a una hora y media, además de ser realizado por un cirujano plástico certificado, los riesgos de complicaciones son mínimas.

El acudir con un cirujano plástico certificado es quizás el punto más importante a tomar en cuenta, ya que de no hacerlo, pueden presentarse consecuencias graves para el paciente.

“En manos de una persona que no esté capacitada, es decir, que no sea cirujano plástico certificado puede haber deformidad, hundimientos y surcos en la piel, y durante tiempos quirúrgicos excesivos se incrementa la probabilidad

de embolia pulmonar”, sentenció.

Además, se debe tener bien presente que esta cirugía no es un método definitivo para perder peso.

“La liposucción no es un método para perder peso, sino para definir la silueta y aunque se elimine la grasa de ciertas zonas se puede volver al estado anterior si el paciente no se cuida”, expuso.

Para ello deberán seguirse buenos hábitos y tener una alimentación balanceada, aspectos que tendrán que ir acompañados de una buena disciplina.

El cirujano plástico mencionó que posteriormente a la cirugía, se deberá utilizar un vendaje por un mes y los puntos quirúrgicos se retirarán al cuarto día.

Los resultados definitivos pueden verse cuando ha desaparecido la inflamación por completo, perdiendo dos tallas de ropa y de cinco a 10 kilos al mes.

“Cualquier paciente que no esté de acuerdo con su cuerpo, quiera mejorar su imagen y que no tenga obesidad mórbida puede someterse a una liposucción”, externó el doctor.

Por instrucciones de la presidente municipal, Maki Esther Ortiz Domínguez, la Comisión de Agua Potable y Alcantarillado intensificó las labores de mantenimiento correctivo a un costado de la barda perimetral y salida natural de las precipitaciones, en la colonia Rincón de las Flores.

Se efectuaron trabajos de excavación con maquinaria pesada para llegar hasta un colector, a una profundidad aproximada de 4.50 metros y abrir una ventana en dicho colector para sacar el tapón de basura a mano.

La basura es en su mayoría plásticos, vasos y platos de unicel, botellas de vidrio, ropa y calzado en desuso, llantas, entre otros, arrojados por ciudadanos a la vía pública y espacios abiertos.

Con la unidad Vactor se sondeó la línea del drenaje sanitario para completar el saneamiento de la red y, finalmente, se reparó la ventana para poder rellenar la zan-

ja, reponer brocal de concreto y renivelar el pozo de visita.

Cuando inició el saneamiento del pluvial natural y drenaje de la colonia Rincón de las Flores, se urgió a los ciudadanos a ya no tirar basura a la vía pública porque ésta es la causa principal de los taponamientos, brotes de aguas residuales y encharcamientos que afectan la salud y el entorno ecológico.

Con anterioridad se ha solicitado a los ciudadanos a denunciar anónimamente ante COMAPA de Reynosa a aquellas personas que atenten contra la infraestructura de este organismo, para ello pueden tomar foto o vídeo con sus celulares y traerlos ante esta dependencia, ubicada en calle Río Pánuco, entre 5 de Mayo y José de Escandón, en la colonia Longoria.

The Mustre, a story of success

and overcoming With dedication, boldness and commitment, this family has turned its name into a dental brand on the border of Nuevo Progreso, Tamaulipas. And now he shares how he took his first steps to the point of consolidating and having patients who visit him, even from the other side of the planet.

By José Manuel Meza Nuevo Progreso, Tam. On Saturday, November 10, took place the opening of the new facilities of the Mustre Dental Clinic, one of the most prestigious dental care centers in the region.

New units were incorporated with the most modern equipment, which were added to the 13 already existing, to provide a more comprehensive and specialized service, which gives it the capacity to assist 19 patients at the same time.

It was a very important day for this dental group conformed by the surgeon Jorge Mustre; his wife, Rocío and their children, Zairy, Zalma and Jorge.

Representatives of the Texas Chamber of Commerce of Harlingen were present at the ribbon cutting; businessmen, patients, relatives and friends, who could enjoy a pleasant coexistence and visit the brand new areas where new offices were installed and the call center, their telephone customer service platform.

Understanding the needs and challenges of Nuevo Progreso, Tamaulipas, a town that is considered the ‘medical tourism capital of Mexico’, and to which thousands of people come every year to seek dental services, is that the Mustre family decided to concentrate his efforts in offering the public the best infrastructure, at the height of the best dental clinics in the United States.

THE FOUNDATIONS

Dr. Jorge Mustre and his wife Rocío studied dentistry at the University of San Luis Potosí, imagining one day forming a successful duo.

At first Jorge was the first to arrive at the border in 1986, working first a few months in the town of Rio Bravo and, later, settling in Nuevo Progreso, Tamaulipas, where he has been providing 32 years of service.

By 1989 Jorge and Rocío were already working as a team on the border, where they earned the respect and recognition of local doctors, as well as (for their professionalism), the large group of tourists who crossed into Mexico in search of oral assistance, while simultaneously keep studying while working.

“Later each one of us specialized. Rocio in orthodontics and me in rehabilitation. And over the years my daughter Zairy also decided to become a dentist and now she has a master’s degree in endodontics.

“My other daughter, Zalma, wants to study prosthetics and my son, Jorge, also orthodontics. It has been a commitment and a great responsibility that they have understood very well, besides that they like the profession and it is a great pride to have a family with a vocation of service.

“When my children began to incorporate, I thought about giving them a new place to work and be comfortable too,” said the director of the medical center.

Dr. Jorge acknowledged that Mustre Dental Clinic has had several stages of growth and that now is part of the legacy that their children have not only received, but are also continuing.

He said that in his family they chose to work together and stay together in the community of Nuevo Progreso.

“We are Mexican and we are very proud to be here, receiving the foreign public and also the local that comes to see us. Here at the border 95 percent of the patients who visit us come from the United States and the rest is national,” he said.

And it is that regardless of the time of year, or if the season of the ‘winter Texans’ is or not at its peak, Mustre Dental Clinic receives patients all the time, some of which come from North America, Asia and Europe.

“And from anywhere. We have, for example, people who come from New York just to attend, because it is more convenient to be here,” said Dr. Jorge.

About the new advances that are already available for all patients, Dr. Mustre said it is a dream come true to have a comfortable, comprehensive and safe clinic.

“In my way of thinking, if I attended a dentist, I would like to go to a place like this. I would not choose another more than this, because it is a clinic that because of its facilities, cleanliness, quality and type of attention you realize that they are working well.

“We have a team of 25 people who participate from 7:45 in the morning until 6:00 in the afternoon. We offer all services in reality. Mainly rehabilitation, cosmetics, endodontics, orthodontics, prosthetics, periodontics, implantology, all that kind of specialties are handled,” said the interviewee.

In addition to Mustre Dental Clinic collaborate from receptionists, administration people, customer service, accountants, dentists and radiologists.

“And we have a new character in the office, Mr. Juan Zambrano, who has helped us a lot, and has very good relations in the United States,” he said.

find here is that they have a laboratory equipped with a sophisticated device to obtain panoramic tomographies of the skull, which allows to grant a diagnosis and more precise treatment.

“This is actually a unique team in Tamaulipas, therefore the radiographs we have are of very good quality.

“To make a study like this, you would have to go to Monterrey, as far as I know, there is not any equipment like this in the Rio Grande Valley, except with us. This type of device is so accurate and to handle it we have a highly trained person,” said Dr. Jorge, who was very grateful to open the new facilities in the company of their loved ones.

“It is a very important moment for me, because all this has been done with a lot of love. I am very happy to have my family and my team of collaborators with me.

“There are people who have been working with me for more than 15 years.

An assistant who has been 22 years and that speaks of the quality of people we have, always concerned about taking care of even the smallest detail and get the best result in the smile of our patients,” he argued.

And is that in this family, beyond a profession, being dentists is a passion, which does not stay on the walls of the clinic, but transcends wherever they are.

“Yes, we sit at the table and talk about so many things. And there are times that the husband of one of my daughters is with us. He is a systems engineer, and I tell them, poor Marcelo, we are talking about theeth, then he says, I’m already understanding something ... (laughs),” said Dr. Jorge.

For her part, Dr. Rocío and her children also had words to raise the effort to have a better space for the staff of the clinic and patients.

“Thank you very much for being with us all our friends and people who accompanied us and above all, thank God, because this is a realization of what is our career and family.

“We always seek to give the public confi-

dence that they come with us, that they should not be afraid to cross into Mexico, that we have the best care for all those who visit us.

“And we also appreciate the support of the business chambers of the United States for accompanying us, having them here gives our patients the assurance that we are giving them the best,” he said.

While their children, Zairy, Zalma and Jorge, also expressed the joy that they have for the new building of Mustre Dental Clinic.

“Since we were children we always saw the success that my parents have had, how they have enjoyed working with their patients and this we loved, that is why we wanted to be a part of this.

“Noticing the satisfaction in people’s faces after they received their treatment is priceless, it is an unparalleled expression and it is a pride we feel for our parents, because they have always encouraged us and they have also been great mentors for us,” they agreed.

And they recognized that putting the Mustre brand on high is a great responsibility that makes them aware of giving their greatest dedication to the attention provided here.

“We hope to finish college. Do the specialty and work here with our parents, because we are super proud of their work. We are very happy with their success, because they are the stars of our family and a great example to follow.

“We are just hoping to get our degrees, so we can start working here with them,” added Zalma and Jorge jr.

Con entrega, denuedo y compromiso esta familia ha convertido su nombre en una marca dental en la frontera de Nuevo Progreso, Tamaulipas. Y ahora comparte cómo es que dio sus primeros pasos hasta el punto de consolidarse y tener pacientes que la visitan, incluso, desde el otro lado del planeta.

Por José Manuel Meza Nuevo Progreso, Tam. El pasado sábado 10 de noviembre se llevó a cabo la inauguración de las nuevas instalaciones de Mustre Dental Clinic, uno de los centros de atención bucales más prestigiados en la región.

Se incorporaron nuevas unidades con el más moderno equipamiento, las cuales se añadieron a las 13 ya existentes, para brindar así un servicio más integral y especializado, lo cual le da una capacidad para poder asistir a 19 pacientes al mismo tiempo.

Fue un día muy importante para este grupo dental conformado por el médico cirujano Jorge Mustre; su esposa, Rocío y sus hijos, Zairy, Zalma y Jorge.

En el corte de listón estuvieron presentes representantes de la Cámara de Comercio de Texas, de Harlingen, empresarios, pacientes, familiares y amigos, quienes pudieron disfrutar de una amena convivencia y recorrer las flamantes áreas en las que se instalaron nuevos consultorios y el ‘call center’, su plataforma de atención telefónica a clientes.

Comprendiendo las necesidades y desafíos que se tienen en Nuevo Progreso, Tamaulipas, un poblado que es considerado la ‘capital del turismo médico de México’, y al cual cada año acuden miles de personas a buscar servicios dentales, es que la familia Mustre decidió concentrar sus esfuerzos en brindar al público la mejor infraestructura, a la altura de las mejores clínicas dentales de Estados Unidos.

LOS CIMIENTOS

El doctor Jorge Mustre y su esposa Rocío cursaron la carrera de médico cirujano dentista en la Universidad de San Luis Potosí, imaginando algún día conformar una exitosa dupla.

En un principio Jorge fue el primero en llegar a la frontera en el año de 1986, trabajando primero unos meses en el poblado de Río Bravo y, posteriormente, instalándose en Nuevo Progreso, Tamaulipas, donde tiene brindando ya 32 años de servicio.

Para 1989 Jorge y Rocío ya estaban trabajando como un equipo en la frontera, donde se ganaron el respeto y el reconocimiento de los médicos locales, así como también (por su profesionalismo), del nutrido grupo de turistas que cruzaron hacia México en busca de asistencia bucal, sin dejar de prepararse simultáneamente mientras trabajaban.

“Posteriormente cada quien nos especializamos. La doctora en ortodoncia y yo en rehabilitación. Y con los años mi hija Zairy también decidió ser dentista y ahora tiene maestría en endodoncia.

“Mi otra hija, Zalma, quiere estudiar prótesis y mi hijo, Jorge, ortodoncia también.

Ha sido un compromiso y una gran responsabilidad que ellos han comprendido muy bien, además de que les gusta la profesión y es un gran orgullo tener una familia con vocación de servicio.

“Cuando mis hijos comenzaron a incorporarse pensé en ponerles un lugar nuevo para que trabajaran y estuvieran a gusto también”, comentó el director del centro médico.

cimiento y que ahora forma parte del legado que sus hijos no solamente han recibido, sino que también están continuando.

Aseguró que en su familia optaron por trabajar juntos y mantenerse unidos en la comunidad de Nuevo Progreso.

“Somos mexicanos y estamos muy orgullosos de estar aquí, recibiendo al público extranjero y también al local que acude con nosotros. Aquí en la frontera el 95 por ciento de los pacientes que nos visitan provienen de Estados Unidos y el resto es nacional”, expresó.

Y es que sin importar la época del año, o si la temporada de los ‘winter texans’ está o no en su apogeo, Mustre Dental Clinic recibe pacientes todo el tiempo, algunos de los cuales llegan desde América del Norte, Asia y Europa.

“Y tenemos un nuevo personaje dentro del consultorio, el señor Juan Zambrano, que nos ha ayudado muchísimo, y tiene muy buenas relaciones en Estados Unidos”, manifestó.

Esta actividad se efectuó con el objetivo de recaudar fondos y ayudar a las personas que menos tienen a través de sus diferentes programas de asistencia social.

En las instalaciones del CRI del DIF Madero se congregaron decenas de personas movidos por el deseo de ayudar y adquirir artículos nuevos y de segunda mano en ex-

celentes condiciones y a bajo costo.

La presidenta del DIF Madero Ana Cristina Organista de Oseguera, informó que debido a la buena respuesta de la ciudadanía, antes de que concluya el mes se pueda llevar a cabo un segundo bazar navideño, por lo que las puertas de este organismo están siempre abiertas para recibir donaciones.

En el evento los niños también la pasaron muy bien, ya que se llevaron la grata sorpresa de la llegada de Santa Claus, quien arribó en una motocicleta para recibir sus cartas y tomarse la fotografía del recuerdo.

“Este es en realidad un equipo único en Tamaulipas, por lo tanto las radiografías que tenemos son de muy buena calidad.

“Para hacerte un estudio como éste hay que ir hasta Monterrey, porque en el valle de Texas que yo sepa no lo hay tampoco, mas que con nosotros.

Este tipo de aparato es tan exacto y para manejarlo tenemos una persona sumamente capacitada”, señaló el doctor Jorge, quien se mostró muy agradecido de poder inaugurar las nuevas instalaciones en compañía de sus seres queridos (ubicadas hacia el lado derecho).

“Es un momento muy importante para mí, porque todo esto se ha hecho con mucho amor. Estoy muy contento de tener conmigo a mi familia y a mi equipo de colaboradores.

“Hay gente que tiene más de 15 años trabajando conmigo. Un asistente que lleva 22 años y eso habla de la calidad de gente que tenemos, siempre preocupados en cuidar hasta el más mínimo detalle y obtener el mejor resultado en la sonrisa de nuestros pacientes”, argumentó.

Y es que en esta familia, más allá de una profesión, ser dentistas es una pasión, la cual no se queda en las paredes de la clínica, sino que trasciende en donde quiera que se encuentren.

“Sí, nos sentamos a la mesa y platicamos

de tantas cosas. Y hay veces que está el esposo de una de mis hijas. Él es ingeniero en sistemas, y les digo, pobre de Marcelo, estamos hablando de dientes cinco personas a la vez y me dice, ya estoy entendiendo algo… (risas)”, ilustró el doctor Jorge.

EJEMPLO A SEGUIR

Por su parte, la doctora Rocío y sus hijos también tuvieron palabras para enarbolar el esfuerzo de tener un mejor espacio para el personal de la clínica y los pacientes.

“Muchísimas gracias por estar con nosotros todos los amigos y las personas que nos acompañaron y sobre todo gracias a Dios, porque ésta es una realización de lo que es nuestra carrera y familia.

“Buscamos siempre brindarle la confianza al público de que venga con nosotros, que no tenga temor de cruzar hacia México, que contamos con la mejor atención para todos los que nos visitan.

“Nuevo Progreso está súper seguro y pueden venir caminando; pasar, dejar su carro del lado americano, o venir con su auto: disponemos de cajones de estacionamiento para los turistas para que se sientan cómodos y tranquilos.

“Y también agradecemos el respaldo de las cámaras empresariales de Estados Unidos por acompañarnos, el tenerlos aquí le da a nuestros pacientes la seguridad de que estamos brindándoles lo mejor”, aseguró.

“Desde niños vimos siempre el éxito que mis padres han tenido, el como han disfrutado trabajar con sus pacientes y esto nos encantó, por ello quisimos ser parte de esto.

“El notar la satisfacción en el rostro de la gente después de que recibió su tratamiento no tiene precio, es una expresión inigualable y es un orgullo el que sentimos por nuestros padres, porque siempre nos han impulsado y además han sido grandes mentores para nosotros”, coincidieron.

De manera que haciendo el mejor uso de la tecnología los integrantes de esta familia que están frente a los pacientes, como el doctor Jorge, su esposa Rocío y su hija mayor, Zairy, todos realizan la mejor atención en el menor tiempo posible, sin dejar de disfrutar al convivir unos con otros.

“En nuestro caso eso de que el trabajo se queda en la clínica no es cierto, porque llegamos a la casa y platicamos de lo mismo, y tenemos proyectos, resolvemos problemas y tenemos una visión hacia el futuro.
