This past fiscal year, Hope Walks has made remarkable strides in its mission to transform the lives of children and families affected by clubfoot and share our hope in Christ. With the support of our dedicated donors, we continued to expand our reach and enhance the quality of care provided. Here are some of the key achievements from FY25*:
Care and Treatment We treated 19,738 unique children, including providing clubfoot care for 9,117 new children and their families. Notably, more than 50% of children born with clubfoot were enrolled in care this year in Burundi (65%), Ethiopia (51%), Kenya (71%), Malawi (67%), the Dominican Republic (65%), and Rwanda (91%).
Program Growth Our commitment to increasing access to quality care led to significant growth in our programs as we opened eight new partner clubfoot treatment centers. With support from Christian Blind Mission (CBM), we increased our reach by starting four new partner treatment centers to serve the Maradi and Zinder regions of Niger. Each year, nearly 1,600 children with clubfoot are born throughout this country.
Education and Training 265 clinicians were trained in the Ponseti method, thereby expanding the local knowledge base and increasing the number of clubfoot treatment providers. Trained 49 parent advisors on how to proactively support and encourage families navigating the treatment process. Educated and equipped 821 church leaders to minister to and support individuals with disabilities within their communities.
Sharing the Gospel Our team of parent advisors conducted 101,111 counseling sessions and made 2,331 home visits, providing crucial emotional and spiritual support to families. Their efforts resulted in 822 faith expressions and 963 church connections, reinforcing the importance of community and faith in the healing process. The achievements of FY25 reflect the tireless dedication of our team and the unwavering support of our donors. Together, we have made a profound impact on the lives of children with clubfoot and their families, providing them with the care and support they need to thrive. * The numbers in this report are preliminary and subject to change upon finalization.
