Summer Bridge Academic Report, 2025
This report shares the impact of Hope Academy’s 2025 Summer Bridge program, measured through NWEA MAP Reading and Math assessments (Spring to Fall).
What is a RIT Score?
A RIT score is a stable scale score used by NWEA MAP to measure student achievement and growth over time, regardless of grade level It allows us to track whether students are gaining skills, holding steady, or slipping in key subjects.
On average, students in the United States lose 2 - 3 RIT points in Reading and 3 - 4 RIT points in Math over the summer months (spring to fall testing window)
For the students who participated in Hope Academy’s Summer Bridge Program* the average Reading growth was 4.4 RIT points and the average Math growth was 2.4 RIT points
● 57.1% showed Reading gains
● 38 1% showed Math gains
Students who did not make growth generally stabilized and prevented the typical summer slump Students who attended >75% of sessions showed the strongest growth, underscoring the value of consistent participation
*Three students who graduated/transferred schools were not included in this report. U.S. NWEA Statistic:
