We believe the Arts are for individuals of all ages, cultures, and artistic abilities. We develop artistic skills, offer outstanding performances and art exhibitions, and enable visitors to experience art in all forms.
The HCA offers over 200 classes for youth, teens, and adults in the visual and performing arts. Every year over 2,000 students enjoy classes in fine art, dance, music, theater, film-making, photography, acting, and ceramics. In addition, students can take private music and art lessons with qualified instructors.
Among our innovative current programs:

The Lotvin Family Gallery showcases a variety of exhibits, including juried exhibits, the HCA Members show, featured solo artist exhibits, and educational and community projects. Juried exhibits are curated by guest jurors who select pieces from submissions received during our open calls for art. The Delbridge Family Performance Center is home to a variety of music, dance and theatrical performances throughout the year.
Enter Stage Left Theater (ESL) is the resident theater of the Hopkinton Center for the Arts, producing up to 10 productions every year. Each season brings a wide-array of theater options to audiences looking for a great affordable theater experience.
We are visited by more than 15,000 patrons a year from over 340 cities and towns in the US and Canada. Created in 2011, HCA, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community arts center, fosters and celebrates the creative spirit in everyone.

The Hopkinton Center for the Arts believes the arts are for everyone and thanks to the generosity of the Dora Kishibay Garabedian Scholarship Fund and individual donations to our scholarship fund we are able to assist children, teens, and adults who might not otherwise be able to afford classes. Need-based scholarships are available for HCA classes to residents of Hopkinton and surrounding Metrowest communities. Assistance is awarded on the basis of demonstrated need, motivation, and potential benefit to the student.

Wait Lists
The HCA does keep wait lists for classes that are full. The lists are on a first come first serve basis. Once your name is added to a list you will be contacted if a spot becomes available.
Payment Plans
Payment is required in full at time of registration. No payment plans or deposits are accepted to hold your position in a class. Jr. Ensemble and Dance Ensemble are the only programs that require a deposit and provides a payment plan for its 34-week session.

Join this eight-week mixed-level program for inspiration and camaraderie. Beginners will learn basic hand-building skills such as slab, coil, and pinch pots, and all students will refine technique, surface treatment, and finishing options. More advanced students will explore more complex forms to dig into their own personal style. Class discussions and critiques of fired works will allow students to better explore these individual styles.
Come and learn the basics of making pottery on the potter’s wheel! This is for beginners, intermediate, and advanced ceramics students. Students will explore the fundamentals of creating functional pottery forms in this week-long workshop. Students will focus on wheel throwing and learn about working in the HCA’s Ceramics Studio located at 34 Hayden Rowe Street. Includes a bag of clay, firing, and glazing.

Advance your dance training. Classes train core stability, weight placement and alignment. Please bring long resistance bands, a small beach ball, a tennis ball or a racket ball, and a yoga mat. Instructor Onalie Arts is a certified Progressing Ballet Technique instructor and she has worked as a massage therapist and attended Yoga Teacher training. In this five-week course, students will learn the fundamentals of stand-up comedy, from developing a unique on-stage persona to transforming personal stories into polished routines. Through guided writing exercises, performance techniques, and group feedback, students will build confidence, sharpen their comedic voice, and take the stage in a graduation showcase that friends and families can attend on August 25.

Gond is vibrant Indian tribal art which showcases nature’s beauty in a peculiar way generally of object arrangement. It uses bright colors and detailed patterns. Dot painting creates mesmerizing artwork using dots patterns. The symmetry in this style creates marvelous visual themes. Warli’s art reflects the connection between humans and nature using simple shapes and colors. It’s rudimentary style looks simple but creates stunning results. In each class, we’ll explore these important styles of Indian art, which have been part of Indian culture for many centuries. All levels are welcome.
