library update Let’s get ‘Christmas Creative!’ With the Holiday Season upon us, it’s the perfect time to reach out to your branches and spread the holiday cheer by helping them get creative with engagement ideas. The “Holidays with hoopla” magazine, sent out last month to all hoopla library branches, offers several ideas on how we can help you engage patrons well into the New Year. Many libraries are already taking advantage of this opportunity, and have shared their own creative ways to engage the community all season long. Many branches are offering holiday craft sessions and utilizing the hoopla “12 Crafts of Christmas” that was included in the magazine. Not only are these proving to be a great use of makerspaces,

but a way to get children’s departments involved as well. Many of our other library partners have embraced “the season of giving” approach, and are offering their patrons extra (even doubling) borrows for both the months of December and January. The “Holidays with hoopla” magazine also included a holiday flyer and shelf talkers to display in your branches! These holiday promotional materials make it easy for your patrons to see the great holiday content available on hoopla. Be sure to check out the “Holidays with hoopla” magazine for more great ideas to assure your branches are not missing out!
