January 2014 Coverage Report In January, patrons and librarians validated the usefulness of hoopla digital by praising the service over competitors such as Netflix, OverDrive and Freegal. According to a local patron in Fort Wayne, IN, “Netflix is dropping the ball a lot,” cutting back on content and hiking up prices for consumers. After testing out hoopla’s service, the patron tells local station, WFFT-FOX, that “it’s better than Netflix” and other competitors in the market. An article by OregonLIVE.com also highlights the availability of hoopla at Multnomah County Library, which recently replaced Freegal with hoopla because it has a more robust music selection. According to the outlet, hoopla digital surpasses the music offerings of Freegal, which is “limited to artists signed to Sony and its subsidiaries.” Competitor call outs such as these speak volumes to the quality and breadth of hoopla’s collection and content partnerships and serve as a testament to the company’s best-in-breed service.
