A Kensington-based family approached us for 11+ tuition and senior school advice for their daughter, in Year 4. Her current school was nurturing and excellent but did not focus on 11+ preparation. We provided weekly in-person tuition for 16 months.

CASE STUDY

As the exams approached, we realised that the girl’s anxiety was increasing and we enlisted the support of an interview coach and a mindfulness tutor to broaden her training and increase her confidence. We held mock interviews and assessments in the SLT office and had lengthy discussions with target schools to explain that the girl’s academic profile was much higher than assessments were likely to demonstrate.

We collated supporting evidence and academic assessments and explained to the parents how they could help their current school better support their daughter. In the end the girl was offered places at five prep schools, including her first choice.
