Look what you’ve helped us achieve!
Thanks to your support, we have been able to invest in new medical equipment, training courses and wellbeing initiatives for our team and have welcomed new staff members.
Our mission at Midhurst Palliative Care is to ensure that sufficient funds continue to be raised annually to sustain the Midhurst Macmillan Service.

We cover 400 square miles of West Sussex, Hampshire and

‘We not only want to sustain the care and support we are privileged to deliver; we want to expand our provision and grow the expertise within the team’.
Joanna Stuttaford.
MMS Lead and Co-founder MPC
We need to raise at least £600,000 every year to meet our commitment to fund the Service so we can continue to support the community and look after neighbours, friends and family with cancer or a life-limiting illness
Help us continue to thrive!
Be part of our future by committing to a regular gift by Direct Debit and become a Friend of Midhurst Palliative Care You will be updated about our activity regularly with newsletters and have the opportunity to come and visit us at Midhurst Community Hospital or join us at one of our events.

How does your garden grow?
Open your garden for Midhurst Macmillan –like Philip and Jean Jackson did last year and will do again this year.
You open the garden gates and we’ll do the rest: ticket the event, steward the car parking, run the refreshments and other stalls and organise everything
Even if you already open for the National Garden Scheme, you can fundraise for your chosen charity with your refreshments and plant sales
Just be clear to your visitors on the day that you are fundraising for Midhurst Palliative Care as well as the main beneficiaries of the National Garden Scheme

Counselling matters
The Midhurst Macmillan Counselling and Bereavement Service offers psychological treatment and support to patients and relatives. Professional counsellors are available to patients from the point of their diagnosis and continuing throughout their medical treatment. The Service also offers counselling to family members and bereavement support.
We offer one-to-one bereavement support, psychotherapy, time-limited counselling, couples counselling and group work The team of counsellors and trained bereavement volunteers also offers reflective practice, supervision and support to Midhurst Macmillan team members
Last year we completed over 600 face-to-face appointments in our counselling and bereavement support service - that’s an increase of over 120% since 2022!

We are delighted that, thanks to your support, we have been able to invest in our PAT dog, Toby, who is now joined by his new colleague, Dr Rigsby Dr Rigsby and Toby along with their handlers support the children of our patients. The dogs help to promote a friendly and relaxed atmosphere for children to talk about their feelings and learn to understand and cope with their loss We are incredibly fortunate to have such waggy members of the team

Counselling suite makeover
With the increased demand for counselling and bereavement support, last year we moved into a larger suite of rooms at the Pearson Unit.

They were in dire need of refurbishment. Bellway Homes, who are building new homes a mile away from the hospital at their Perceval Grange development, rallied to our aid and generously refurbished the entire suite with new furniture, accessories and blinds for privacy
Further information and support can be found here:

“The rooms look amazing, and the furniture has truly transformed the space into a calming, comfortable environment - exactly what is needed for the counselling we provide. I am so grateful personally to work in this space ” Katherine, Counsellor
