The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program

Attention all junior/senior undergraduates and first- and second-year graduate students!

The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) provides fellowships to graduate students in STEM fields. Fellows receive 3 years of a $37,000 stipend, as well as opportunities to do research abroad or intern for a government agency.

On August 29, 2023, the CSU Graduate Professional Development Series and the Office for Scholarship and Fellowship Advising (OSFA) hosted the session: Components of a Strong Application for NSF's Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP). If you were unable to attend or would like to review anything you may have missed, the session was recorded and can be found here The recording, as well as presentation slides, successful application examples, and other helpful information are located in this google drive for prospective applicants to peruse.

The Office for Scholarship and Fellowship Advising (OSFA) has recently launched a Canvas module, “Getting Started with the NSF GRFP: An Introductory Course.” This online, multimedia module is meant for any student planning to apply for the GRFP In addition to the module, OSFA is available to help applicants virtually or in-person, provide feedback, and answer questions in real time.

We will also be offering remote application editing and small group editing/accountability pods. Current Fellows will be available to provide feedback and edit completed applications in early October To assist those looking for more feedback and an earlier start on their applications, we will be facilitating small group editing pods of applicants in similar fields, to provide writing accountability and additional editing and support starting in late summer. If you are interested in either or both of these opportunities, please fill out this form by Wednesday, September 20th at 5 pm MT with your name, preferred email, and general field of study (i e biology, physics, etc )

If you have questions about the GRFP, please submit them using this form, reach out to OSFA, or email Kathryn (Kathryn.A.Moore@colostate.edu) with any questions
