TA Cattle Annual Sale 2026

Page 1

Welcome

Welcome to our “12 + 1” Annual Bull and Female Sale! (Yes, we are very superstitious, anything we’ve ever tagged to “13” doesn’t seem to stay around long.) It was such an honor to get to host all of you in The Bull Loft for the first time last year and we can’t wait to do it again on February 7, 2026.

We say it every year, so by this point it would be wrong to not say it—we are so excited about this year’s offering! Back in the spring of 2023 when we were planning the matings to bring you these bulls today, you and your herd are what came to mind first. You can expect to find genetics here that will work from conception to cooler, given that we are a cow-calf to finish operation ourselves.

The bred heifers have become a staple in the sale offering. We are pleased to bring you the kind you’ve gotten used to with our home raised genetics, sourced from our repeat customers, and a few from another reputation herd.

This year we are bringing you pick of EIGHT elite registered replacement heifers. No holds barred here— these are the top of the top. These ladies are the epitome of “Focused on the Female, Driven by Data.” As far as females go, this is what we’ve been striving for.

We look forward to seeing you all on February 7th! Come early for lunch and stay after for fellowship. As always, you will be able to view and bid online through DVAuction if you’re unable to join us.

Thank you

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Announcements from the block take precedence over the information in this catalog.

RETAINED INTEREST

We are retaining half interest in all bulls in the sale. We are selling the remaining half interest, full possession, and full salvage value. This option gives TA Cattle the option to collect, use, and market semen from the bull and does not restrict the purchaser from doing the same. This collection, unless agreed otherwise, would be done at the expense of TA Cattle, at the buyer’s convenience. Also at the time of purchase, the highest bidder on a retained interest bull may elect to purchase exclusive semen rights for 100% of the purchase price in addition to the purchased price on retained bulls. If a buyer elects to purchase exclusive semen rights, TA Cattle interest then becomes in herd use only, but TA Cattle retains all rights to use the bull within their herd.

GUARANTEE

All bulls selling for $5,000 or more are guaranteed for the first breeding season. A breeding season is defined as the 90 day period following the first turnout of the bull. If a replacement bull is available, he will be provided or if the buyer prefers, credit toward one bull will be given in the following sale, less salvage value of the injured bull. All injured bulls must be diagnosed by a veterinarian. Please notify us as soon as possible should injury occur and prior to the injured bull being sold for salvage.

VACCINATION RECORD

All cattle have been vaccinated, starting at 30 days of age, at grass turn out, and again at pre-weaning and post-weaning. They were poured and dewormed. Vaccinations include 7-way clostridial, IBR, BVD, P13, BRSV, haemophilus somnus, and pasturellas. Any positive test results will be noted with EPDs throughout the catalog. The open heifers have also been Bangs vaccinated. The bulls and heifers have had their pre-breeding shot—Express FP 5-VL5. If you would like specific details on products used please give us a call. The bulls will be sold as guaranteed breeders according to the sale terms and conditions of the RAAA.

DELIVERY

All bull lots will be delivered free to central points in Nebraska and the adjoining states within 500 miles. Delivery mileage will be calculated from your nearest TA Cattle location (Thurston or Bassett, NE). We provide nationwide bull delivery assistance guaranteeing delivery anywhere within the continental US to central points at the lowest possible prorated rate. If $20,000 or more is spent on bull lots, free delivery will be provided, up to 1,000 miles.

We normally sell the fall bulls private treaty, but they were just too good to not offer them now! Lot 1 is a full sib to the 2025 high-selling replacement heifer that sold to Berwald Red Angus for $21,000 and also a full brother to Lot 103-N169. F66 is the dam of TAC Drifter H10 who sold to Twedt Red Angus and Rhodes Red Angus, TAC Consequence J383 who sold to Sonstegard Red Angus, TAC Drifter 2.0 who sold to Scott Bousquet, TAC Rollin Deep L420 who sold to Cross Diamond Red Angus, TAC Hobo L186 who sold to Lackaff Red Angus and TAC Hobo L262 sold to Martin farms, are just a few of the most sought-after sires that she has produced.

These cattle represent the kind of consistent, dependable genetics, built to work in real-world cow herds that are suitable for both registered and commercial programs. We have yet to breed F66 to something that doesn’t work. To top it off this bull is sired by the record setting $400,000 PIE Hollywood 222. Ultrasound data has not been obtained on fall bulls yet.

F63 needs about as much introduction as F66. She has been a huge piece of our puzzle stemming from the infamous Abigrace family. Lot 2’s maternal granddam has 22 progeny in herd. Out of these 22, there are five full siblings that have all proven themselves to be great cows, but F63 is the most versatile of the five, so we started using her very heavily in our ET program. If you are lacking power but do not want to sacrifice maternal, this would be a great fit for your program. This is another one of those cows that is consistent in every mating. If you’re looking for a bull that has six traits in the top 4% of the breed with his growth numbers being in the top 1% in every aspect, this is your bull. His half-sister, a Drifter H10 daughter, sells as Lot 103-N73. Ultrasound data has not been obtained on fall bulls yet.

PIE HOLLYWOOD

TAC STELLAR M6

This bull puts all the pieces together to what we envisioned when bringing Stellar into our red program. Highly maternal with unreal growth and carcass but still being heifer safe. His feet are perfect! If there was an EPD for hoof and claw in the Red Angus breed he would rank in the top 1% for both. This bull could be the best Red Angus bull to sell in 2026. He is exactly what we have been striving for when planning matings. He ranks in the top 40th percentile for 11 traits and is backed by a gorgeous Drifter daughter with a complete outcross pedigree. I could talk about this bull for hours. He has that wow factor that just makes you get excited

TAC SAFETY M59

Here’s a heifer bull with extraordinary growth that ratioed very well. He was 4 of 56 for yearling and ranks in the top 13% for CED and top 19% for BW. This bull is also backed by a stunning Drifter H10 daughter. He is a standout Safety J130 who has added frame and foot size. Not many heifer bulls can pack as much red meat yield as M59. He combines two pedigrees that are very consistent and sought after. Don’t miss out on this rare opportunity. 4

If you’re a commercial breeder or a registered breeder he could move you in the direction where most programs are lacking. He is a full brother to Drifter H10 and phenotypically might be the best one yet. Drifter H10 semen has been commanding $3500 per unit and siring some of the most sought-after cattle in the country. We feel M01 will make some of the most fertile females out there and will be a true breeding piece down the road. If you’re wanting to make your cow herd more maternally focused, M01 would be a great fit. Full brother to TAC Drifter H10. Ultrasound data not obtained due to M01 being at stud at that time.

TAC DRIFTER M30

Phenotypically this bull might be the best in the sale and for sure the stoutest. He could have started the sale and might be everyone’s favorite on sale day. He stands on the most massive feet I’ve ever seen on a bull his age. It’s truly unreal how this bull moves like a cat with the power and skeletal width he has. Adding 9 traits in the top 17% of the breed doesn’t hurt either. He is definitely a must-use sire in 2026. We plan on using this bull in our program in the future.

TAC DRIFTER M119

Another Drifter son that ratioed really well across the board. He goes back to a 9-year-old dam that has a keeper every year. She has a 367-day calving interval on 7 offspring while maintaining a 102 MPPA is impressive. M119 is one of the easiest keeping bulls in the pen and is as wide as he is tall.

TAC DRIFTER M115

TAC DRIFTER M182

This bull was my favorite all summer on grass, I even got a few good pictures of him as a calf and I’m not a picture taker! His dam has a perfect udder and is one of the easiest keeping cows on the ranch. If you’re in the hunt for a heifer bull without sacrificing growth with an 8-year-old dam to back it, look no further. 9

Lot 15 is a knockout Drifter son. This bull has very consistent EPD’s, with 14 of the 19 traits ranking in the 37th percentile or better. His maternal granddam is Basin Opal T7385, lovingly known around the ranch as “Granny.” She was the oldest cow we’ve ever kept around, raising her last calf this past year at 19. She is one of the reasons why we have so much Basin influence in our herd today. They are flat sticky and stay in the herd.

We bought 7055 from Marshall’s when they had their dispersion. She was a highlight of the sale, and one of our top picks. Phenotypically these bulls are impressive with a really soft, clean look. They will sire some really nice females with numbers that follow suit. Don’t overlook them just because they’re black!

Another heifer bull right here. He’s super stout, if you’re wanting to add some muscle to your calves, he will do it in one mating. It’s hard to find a heifer bull with this much muscle expression that ratioed over 130 for IMF. If you’re wanting to take feeders to town, he will make you a nice, stout set.

TAC STELLAR M130 ET

TAC Stellar M130 brings a lot of different breeding options to the table, he is a complete outcross to most Red Angus pedigrees. He is out of Drifter’s mother, F66. His numbers speak from themselves. He possesses great calving ease with top 11% WW, top 2% YW, and has phenomenal carcass numbers and maternal indexes. Stellar is one of the most elite maternal Angus bulls on the market and has females in production across the country.

We have never offered this many OR this caliber of replacement heifers. We did not hold back from bringing our freshest most elite genetics. If you don’t believe us, then you can have pick of what’s left in the keeper pen! We are retaining the right to two successful flushes on all females with a minimum of 6 grade embryos per flush.

Females

We start the open heifers off with N103. She is a Safe Deposit K635 daughter. He is a black, red-carrier that we retained. Safe Deposit is proving to be a very consistent sire on both spectrums. There will be a very strong bull offering sired by him on our 2027 sale. They are easy fleshing, have a lot of capacity, and are super clean fronted. Not only is this heifer red, but she is a complete outcross to anything in both the Red and Black Angus worlds. We don’t have very many red Safe Deposit heifers. Take her rare color and put it on top of the fact that she numbers up extremely well. Get this girl added to your donor arsenal!

N50 goes back to B47, Drifter’s granddam. This heifer is a complete outcross on both sides of her pedigree, she has both a black sire and a black dam. Her pedigree reeks of phenomenal cow makers with B47, 331A, EA Rose 915, Bieber Tilly 399W, and Sitz Pride 200B. K143 is a Stellar son out of B47 that we retained. He is proving to be a very consistent sire that brings extraordinary feet quality and very capacious females. He also sired a large offering on the 2027 sale. Stellar K143 has a son, Lot 3, that will be a sale highlight this year along with lots 74-76 and his full sister has 2 sons, Lots 28 and 44 that will be well recieved as well. Not only does she have a phenomenal pedigree but she is extremely good numbered as well, with 11 traits in the top 20% of the breed. Take your pick of these heifers and build a program around them.

These two heifers are phenotypically complete opposites. N169 is a very soft made, flatter muscled, deep-bodied heifer that is out of Drifter’s mother. She is sired by PIE Hollywood 222, who commanded $400,000 as a yearling on the Pieper Red Angus sale. Her full sister was the high-selling female on our 2025 sale, going for $21,000 to Berwald Red Angus. Her full brother, TAC Hollywood M620, is Lot 1, a highlight of this year’s sale. This mating is extremely consistent!

N73 is the polar opposite. Harder muscled, elegant in her design, and whistle-fronted. She’s got that freak factor that commands your attention. She is sired by the famed TAC Drifter H10, who is one of the most popular sires in the Red Angus breed today. Very few daughters have ever sold at auction. H10 semen has been commanding $3,500/straw. Her half-brother, TAC Hollywood M632, sells as Lot 2. N73’s dam, F63, comes from the famed Abigrace from RA Brown Ranch. These two females come from noble pedigrees. Not only are they bred for balance, but they also have the numbers to match.

The two Drifter 2.0 daughters that make up Lot 104 strongly resemble one another. They are both feminine in their makeup and super soft. N89 goes back to the 331A cow family. By this time you are probably familiar with 331A because she shows up in a lot of our pedigrees. N89’s dam goes back to Basin Payweight Plus 6048. We were so satisfied by his calves that we decided to implement him in to our Red Angus program, as well.

N104 doesn’t have an outcross pedigree like N89, but she comes with some more old school genetics. She is double-bred Basin Trendsetter 45S5. If you’ve been in the Red Angus breed long enough you definitely know who that is. Some of our best cows go back to Trendsetter. Drifter 2.0 is a full brother to Drifter. There will be a strong showing from him in the 2027 sale. 2.0 himself was the high-seller in our 2025 sale selling to Bousquet Farms. We think that the 2.0’s are going to make even better females than Drifter himself. He has excellent claw shape with a good level hip, soft made and easy keeping.

N15 and N92 go back to Ground Sow A112 who was a very productive donor in our program. Her name speaks for itself given that these girls are some of the easiest-keeping and biggest bodied on the ranch. While she was in our donor program, she predominantly threw bulls so we do not have a lot of offspring from her. The females we do have out of her have been elite. N92 is out of a bull that we used from Mushrush Red Angus called Eneko. He is a bull that consists of high caliber calving ease, carcass traits, STAY, ProS, and Herd Builder--everything that you want to make a female. On top of that she ranks in the top 40% in 14 traits. Her half-brother was a high-seller on last year’s sale. N15 is sired by TAC Strategy J288 which is an F63 son. If you look through the bulls and heifers you will see a lot of F63 influence. N15 has 10 traits in the top 40% of the Red Angus breed. Whatever choice you make on these two, it will be a good one.
