Welcome to our annual February bull sale. We have seen a lot in this last year with weather patterns, markets and politics. However deep down I feel that we all know we are on the verge of some great markets to come. The fundamentals will keep this strong from some time to come.
This offering of bulls is the strongest to date. We have proven and fresh genetics combined that have lined out in genetic strength like never before. The phenotype has always been our strong point, but the challenge of matching that same power on paper is really paying off. We breed for “Balance” in everything.
We never make excuses for our bulls, but I will tell you we pictured after the blizzard and three days of hard wind after Christmas. We videoed during the cold snap in mid-January so what you see is what you get…this is THEM after stress.

The Stellpflug name/prefix is throughout the book. ndy Stellpflug purchased a heifer crop from us and our entire donor herd (excluding the kid’s donors) as well as many other females in the last three years. This transaction has been great for both parties and Stellpflug Cattle Company will market bulls here for the next five years. Same genetics, same guarantees, same everything with most of his bulls being born right here in the Sandhills.
We are extremely fortunate to work cattle with some of the best people in the cattle industry and it does nothing but make us stronger. Please take time to meet the people we work with here at the ranch. They are THE BEST…..they give my family opportunities that I hope we can give theirs!

Hoffman Ranch will be hosting two different roping schools taught by Dustin Davis and Joseph Harrison. If you or your organization purchase bull(s) in the 2023 fall bull sale or the 2024 spring bull sale, you will have a spot reserved and a $250 customer credit for the roping school. The cost of the clinic is $500 per person if others would like to attend.
You are welcome to send anyone affiliated with your organization who wants to improve their roping skills. This event is for customers and our crew first. If the two-day schools are not filled by May 15th, we will open it to the public for the $500 price.

We show the cattle we raise for the kids and take a lot of pride in the fact that the full brothers to these show heifers can work anywhere in the US! Our family would also like to say THANK YOU to our crew (both at the show and at home) for your hard work!

Thomas County is the definition of a true breeding bull. His sons are made like him….massive, soggy, exceptionally sound, big testicled and have great EPD’s. His daughters are made just like his mother…. feminine, angular and deep bodied. Structure is a definite strong point for both sexes. H

Partially Pigmented Polled. I can’t believe we are starting the sale with an April bull calf. However, this young prospect has as much power and true performance as any bull in the sale. Cosmetically, he could be improved, but you won’t find this kind of
substance, and bone anywhere else. Along with that, he’s out of one of the hottest cow families to come along in the Hereford breed.

Benton is a carcass sire that adds extra look, length and pounds. The unique thing about Benton is how maternal oriented he is, while also being carcass driven. Benton sons are very limited as the bull died early in life at ABS.

Pigment,

Dominate has really bred true to his own phenotype. His sons are
spined and heavy muscled cattle who have a big foot underneath them. He has created quite a following from some of the strictest commercial cattlemen in our region.

This is an outside heifer bull that we used whose progeny we admire for extra density, substance and volume. The daughters should be very maternal and the sons should be very easy to feed.

Outcross is our old standby. For no more semen than we have every offered on this bull, his progeny have definitely left their mark in the breed. Outcross daughters stand the test of time. It is very common for Outcross to be the maternal grandsire of the lot 1 animal in many production sales across the US.

Thedford is our second highest selling bull in Hoffman Ranch’s history! In our 2021 bull sale he sold for $200,000 to ST Genetics. We have used him extensively and are very impressed with the vigor the calves have at birth. They seem to have excellent dispositions and are extremely high quality with great fertility traits.

Heifer Bull. One of the most special bulls we ever raised. He was born to a first calf heifer that goes back to the Y2 donor cow. Until 3839 came along, I would have told you that Y2 was our best Angus cow. This bull is extremely unique for his calving ease and to be this stout. He’s wide based and big footed. Everything about this bull makes us believe that he’s one of the best herd bull prospects ever offered here.

Barricade is highly regarded throughout the Angus breed. His sons highlighted our spring 2022 bull sale and were admired by both seedstock and commercial producers. Barricade is known for his foot quality, ruggedness and herd bull characteristics. Stellpflug Cattle Co. now owns his dam.

fits our programs very well as he and many other sires here can be used on both heifers and cows. He fits the mold of many bulls in the sale. They can be used on heifers, but have the power and growth for any mature cow herd.

The full sister to Hoffman Midwest is the donor dam of lots 318-320. Ruth 934 is a powerhouse phenotypical and combines this with stellar genetic predictions and a proven maternal pedigree. This trio of 934 sons are part of one of the exciting flushes to every come from this standout donor. Two full sisters sold this past fall for $110,000 and $82,000. These bulls match an outstanding phenotype with next level genetic predictions to be one of the most exciting set of brothers to sell this spring.

This is an outstanding offering of commercial bred heifers. All females offered have been hand selected by Hoffman Ranch bull customers. The Black Baldy heifers are 100% sired by Hoffman Ranch Hereford bulls and the straight black heifers are mostly sired by Hoffman Angus Bulls. We have made it a passion to help our clients market their Hoffman bred offspring. Females will not be at the sale site! Represented through Superior Livestock, Dennis Metzer or Jerry Warren. Call Jason with any questions at 530-604-5096.
Johnny Mike and Tyler Lee have purchased several really good bulls and this is a really nice set of heifers sired by them. This will be a gate cut as we have already sold a gate cut of these. The heifers will be available for viewing at our feedlot on the East side of the highway. All heifers are OCV with complete vaccination and prebreeding shots.
This is an outstanding set of females we always get to market. This is a really special addition to this year’s sale. Yazel Cattle Co. has literally bought hundreds of bulls from us. This is the top of a huge sort. They are extremely good! They are OCV and have had a complete vaccination program and pre-breeding shots. They are located in Vinita, Oklahoma.
