MODULE DESCRIPTION

This modules is directed into design process, programming, analytical critical thinking with the considerations of the environment influences, behavioural studies and end user’s needs and design resolution. Distinctively the progression would be enhanced with having effective graphical communication and technical skill. More commercial project tasks are introduced to relate to the direction of the industry that manipulates various specialised details of materiality and specifications. The module investigates the attraction of workspace value to their specific markets through interior design, which accurately reflects brand values and corporate identity.

PROJECT 1 : NARRATIVE BOARD

TASK 1A

In this phase, we need to explore and propose the post pandemic programming of a new working environment, our group is required to select one Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) to extract issues and propose suitable programs that are in line with the selected goal.

TASK 1B

Each student is required to explore, identify, invent and activate suitable spaces and divert to a functional approach. The clues and regeneration of the term can be explored in culture curation perspective, lifestyle, forgotten values, essence of sustainability, rebuilding the nature, technology, passion, and interest according to the research gathered.

PROJECT 2 : MODEL & FINAL PROJECT

We are required to design an appealing and breathing work space individually at the office level chosen related to the SDGs assigned. Students are to create an engaging workspace that lead to transformation and growth, shift the culture towards engagement and productivity as well as integrating a sense of community will remain important to the future workplace, especially as advancements in technology encourage people to work remotely and become more isolated. Rethinking the power of culture and space for insightful experience, a space that boost employee engagement and vitally by the creative use of space, flow with powerful effect on the human psyche. Digital technologies are transforming not only on the work people do, but also the ways of the workspaces are designed, built and operated. But the very essence of the workplace ― human interaction and collaboration, remains as necessary as ever. The attention of post pandemic and new norm is the main focus in the systems of the intelligence office for each of the spaces assigned that navigated from the issue raised of the assigned SDG.

REFLECTION

In this semester, The tutor's patient teaching allowed me to make a better rendering of the previous semester in this semester. The advice given by the teacher is also very practical, simple and clear. During the process, I also encountered a lot of personal matters and could not attend the class, but MS Fatimah also arranged online classes for me very well.

One of the most profound was when MS Fatimah taught me how to complete the ceiling finishes and floor finishes parts. Until then, I would only use the render way to do ceiling and floor finishes. And then I learned how to use layers to make a more layered design

A team spirit is very important to a group assignment. In our assignment 2, we need to do the narrative board and also the PAM physical model. Although the process was bumpy, we overcame various difficulties to complete the assignment. I also learned to listen to the opinions of other team members, but also developed the ability to express suggestions.

The next semester will be the first time internship for me. I really learnt much skill in the previous semester and hope this will help me get more easier to handle the job in the future.
