Dear Students,

About education, about learning, I have once read a passage. Since I believe I am not capable to write something better, I quote it here allÿ

This class is brilliant,

enthusiastic

“It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare, it is because we do not dare that things are difficult."

Seneca.* I hope to be with you all in Hong Kong for the Graduation Exhibition. In case this is not possible then I hope equally that you will be able to avoid those telling you yet again that you are about to leave your ideals and inspirations behind, as you enter the ‘Real World' of practice.

and Full of momentum Vincent Pang

Too much of that 'World' is devoted to knowing the price of everything and the value of nothing. If this is ‘Real' then cynicism must be the road to the success of talent, to the reward for genius, and to undivided prosperity through education. The only antidotes to this nonsense are persistence, determination, and immediacy. Do not be burdened by conventions, distracted by comforts, or slowed by hierarchies.

Tutor's comment

The rest of your life is short, precious, and hangs by a thread. Its enemies are procrastina¬ tion, passivity and doubt. Do not wait - this is not a rehearsal. Do not seek approval permission only gives you responsibility without power. Do not worry - obstacles are what you see only when you take your eye off your goal.

‘If

you are told that time to begin the pursuit of your dreams is Tomorrow, -begin Today."

People begin to ignore other kinds of games and toys. In addition, most old toys or games almost forgotten by people. Therefore, I want to provide a place that have some old games and toys so as to remind people that there are not only the high-tech visual games. Ialso want to design a space with games so as to improve people relationship and communication skill, because thos old toys or games were hand-make and created by ourselvi In addition, most old games are play in group and have interaction between people by playing the game. Hong Kong in the 70*s was thriving in toy industry. In 70*s t 80's Hong Kong had produced a lot of toys. Iwant to introduce those historic toys in the store, also want to intrc the toys flow in Hong Kong from 60's to 70's such as the all robot fingers and toy eggs, and 80's comics, animations, to 90's TV games and gameboys and up to the present. Dear students, Your achievement, ... To some of you, it is an exploration to uncharted territories... it is, although not an elevator, at least a ladder, to get to higher ground... it is a magnifying lens for the map to future... it is a great opportunity to exercise long idled brain cells... it is just something that gotta be done and get over with... You draw, you work, you read, you think, and you've learned... You sweat, you stress, you depress, you panic, and you're broke...

After all, it's done. So what do you get? A piece of paper... A group of friends (or enemies)... A bit of knowledge, skills, experience, memory, laughter, tears... A boyfriend (or a girlfriend)... (heehee) A confused mind of donno what the heck had happened...

?

Not bad! You get what you've paid for, of course. So enjoy life, and may the Force be with you.

This year's graduates mark the second group ever to complete their studies from The Art School's Interior Design programme. Since it all started three years ago, the Interior Design programme has grown ever since in terms of the diversity of the students, the breadth of the curriculum, the number of faculties, and now, the increasing number of alumni. This means a great deal both for the future of the school itself and its graduates. leeshufan@yahoo.com

Most of the first batch graduates have since entered the Interior Design business, and together with the coming group of similarly talented students entering the market, The Art School Interior Design graduates are destined to become an increasingly more influential group of people in the years to come. This development typically exemplifies an important and powerful new force emerging from the society, adding new colours and life into the profession.

earning the energies and dedication of the : hand in the school, Ibelieve this new voice in our Interior Design profession will be heard positively in a lot of ways. Iwouldn't, and couldn't, tell you what this voice represents since it's still a work in the making; yet when it comes to your door, Iassure you that it would be one of those most sought after voices that is The Art School Graduates. 6

Dear Students,

•

It is like keeping a relationship, no matter how much satisfactory you get form the relationship or how much time you have spent, it's romantic which keep it alive.

Think of the reason you want to be a designer,

it's the passion. You won't count what it is out there that you can gain, think of what you want. It's roman¬ tic that you are trying to achieve, not money or awards that you get, it's the linkage between you and the work. The dream that you go for. You ought to have the passion for it. And

Spirit Oasis is a bookshop specially selling spiritual books at the centre of Central. It sits quietly between the high-rise development and provides a spacious and convenient location for people escaping from fume, crowds and noise. The main design concept is “oasis" and it is to tentively reveal the natural landscape in indoors. The location of bookshop is on 13/F & 14/F of the building and the route from G/F to 13/F & 14/F is like a path of search. Starting the path, people escape from crowds, calm down themselves and let themselves ready to seek for their spiritual peace.

Hi students, Here are some texts that i would like to say to you

The students had gone through an explorative process in evolving, developing and refining their designs, which results in a promising great work.

guys,

good luck everybody! It is already not easy to study in part-time basis and I knew that all of you should have tried very hard to finish the program. Getting the qualification means you have equipped yourselves to a certain extent, but at the same time means that you w 川 start your career in a new era. The School did not teach all you need in your career life, but more important, the meth¬ odology and way of thinking that you can apply to the coming challenges! Hope you enjoyed to study my course and the program!

The real merit to me being able to witness their design thinking and the independent evaluation which serve as the major essence to approaching their forth-coming design challenges. The students' active participation in class and the indulgence in the works out of their daily routines & other commitments were really appreciated. I wish all of them promising future and hope their design enthusiasm perpetuateÿ
