An interactive art installation that critiques anthropocentrism
I simulated an art installation that people in a future world use to transform tomato production. This device not only foreshadows the potential future development path of humanity and nature but also criticizes the anthropocentric and mechanistic philosophy underlying our relationship with nature. Through the power of art, it calls on the audience to reflect deeply and reassess our approach to nature, advocating for a more harmonious and symbiotic relationship between humans and the natural world.

Anthropocentrism has evolved continually, establishing the idea that humans occupy a superior position in the natural world and have the right to control and exploit other life forms. This concept has become deeply ingrained in modern society. Below is my social survey on people's attitudes toward the breeding and modification of plants compared to their concern for human self-modification.
interviewed 100 people from different professions to gather their views and opinions on the modification of plants and human self-modification. I analyzed their responses based on the duration of discussions on each topic, their level of interest, and the richness of their expressed viewpoints.
The survey primarily reflects that:
1.There is minimal concern for plant modification, mainly focused on whether it directly relates to human interests. For example, concerns about 'enhancing intelligence' leading to social inequality.
2.There is a high level of concern and ethical apprehension regarding human modification, with attention only on issues that directly affect human health, safety, and the future. For in
Technological advancement and anthropocentrism reinforce each other. Technological progress deepens human control and exploitation of nature, while anthropocentrism provides the theoretical and ethical foundation for this control and exploitation. If we do not regain a sense of reverence for nature, this trend will continue, ultimately leading to a profound alienation between humans and the natural world.
I use Processing to write code that captures the position of the mouse click, processes it, and then sends control information to the Arduino via USB serial. The Arduino parses these instructions and controls the output signals on the pins, thereby enabling the orderly operation of servos, water pumps, and other hardware.
When was preparing for the test, I encountered a difficulty: the servo of the robotic arm could not complete the action of drawing water into the syringe and injecting it. So observed the structure, modeled a reciprocating motion mechanism model with an up-and-down push rod myself, and 3D printed it to be paired with a more powerful 360-degree MG996 servo to enable the syringe to perform this action.

Monophobia, the fear of being alone at home or anywhere in public area where personal contact is expected to be interacted with their human friends and family members are among one phobia that devastatingly affected someone's quality life due they easily get intensively very disturbed anxiety and including with various forms avoidance behaviors. Traditional therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), use graded exposure techniques but are constrained by the number of appointment attended and real-world practicalities.
New Therapeutic Approaches with Mixed Reality (MR) which count the Apple Vision Pro in their ranks, are also a step further is this direction. The combination of CBT and MR allows patients to perform systematic desensitization in a safe, replicable virtual world.
This project uses Vision Pro to develop an interactive based interface for monophobia treatment. By creating immersive virtual experiences, delivering voice-based prompts and overlaying interactive events in the environment, AI helps alleviate anxiety of being alone while enhancing patients' mental health.
Can you describe your experience with monophobia? How long have you been dealing with it?
How does monophobia affect your daily life, both personally and professionally?
What emotions do you typically experience when you are alone?
What specific situations trigger your fear of being alone?
What thoughts go through your mind when you are alone? Are there any recurring themes or worries?
Can you describe any physical symptoms or reactions you have when you are alone?
How do you usually cope with these situations? Have you developed any strategies or routines to manage your fear?

“The Ghost Sea" is a serious game that I hope to use to make people aware of discarded fishing gear on the seabed, also known as "ghost gear." They are the primary culprits behind the deaths of numerous marine animals, existing like ghosts, inflicting immense suffering upon these creatures, and causing severe damage to the ecosystem.
In 2019, scientists from the University of Exeter conducted a study on over 1,000 sharks and rays. These marine animals were found entangled in various types of plastic debris, with the majority of them ensnared in ghost nets. (Parton et al., 2019, University of Exeter).
In the report for 2021, the Global Ghost Gear Initiative (GGGI) stated that within the five major ocean currents, 46% to 70% of plastic micro-particles are attributed to ghost gear(GGGI, 2021, Ocean Best Practices Repository).
According to the 2020 data from the World Wide Fund for Nature, removing ghost fishing gear from the ocean floor could result in a yield increase of over twenty million dollars(WWF, 2020, WWF Publication).
According to the Food and Agriculture Organization's Fisheries Committee data from 2018, at least 650,000 marine mammals, 700,000 seabirds, and thousands of sea turtles are caught by ghost fishing gear annually. The entanglement of ghost fishing gear poses a threat to marine life that is at least three times greater than that of other forms of marine debris(FAO, 2018, FAO Report).
Zhoushan City is my hometown, and I spend a month living here every year. It's a remarkably beautiful archipelago where the majority of residents make a living through fishing, living in harmony with nature.
Gradually, I discovered a discordant scene hidden beneath the sea. Fishing nets—the tools of fishermen's livelihoods. On the surface, they forge an intimate connection between the fishermen and the ocean, but beneath the calm waters, they weave an inescapable chamber of secrets.
The proportion of single-use plastic products in marine debris is only 50%, with an additional 27% consisting of discarded fishing gear and related items.
Ninety percent of fish killed by ghost fishing gear are economically valuable species, resulting in significant economic losses.
The World Animal Protection organization states that ghost fishing gear leads to a reduction of 5% to 30% in global fish stocks, causing losses amounting to millions of dollars.
I want to understand why some fishermen seem to not prioritize the issue of recycling abandoned fishing nets, so interviewed two Fishermen.
Well, recycling abandoned fishing nets is certainly an important issue, but sometimes we encounter difficulties.
First, these abandoned nets are often challenging to deal with because they can be tangled together or even embedded in the seabed or rocks. Cleaning them up requires time and resources, which can be a significant undertaking for us fishermen. Additionally, sometimes the abandoned nets are not discarded by us but by other fishing vessels or boats. This can be frustrating because we cannot fully control the actions of others.
Well, I have to admit that I haven't paid much attention to the issue of recycling abandoned fishing nets before.
We fishermen typically focus more on fishing and making a living rather than dealing with waste.
Interview Although fishermen know that abandoned fishing nets are harmful to the environment, they do not dispose of them for cost-saving reasons. People dump unwanted things into the sea, hoping that the sea will tolerate them. However, this irresponsible behavior will eventually affect the entire ecological environment and ultimately everyone.
The issue of ghost fishing gear poses significant threats to the oceans and marine life.

Long-term exposure to pollutants from ghost nets can cause genetic mutations and reduce the reproductive ability of marine organisms, leading to species decline. Although research on mutations from ghost nets is limited, toxic buildup can indirectly cause these effects.(MDPI).

arouse the public's attention to the harm of abandoned fishing nets at the bottom of the water and prompt them to make positive changes in reality. It is the best choice for spreading such environmental protection information.

The Serial component is used to receive data from the Arduino, which consists of 0 and 1 values, and this is converted into CHOP values using the datto component. The data processing here determines the switching behavior of the switch and cross components. Virtual values are also used to simulate the Arduino's 0 and 1 values by adjusting constant3, which now controls the changes in switch3, toggling between 0 and 1. This value is then mapped to control constant1, and constant is connected to express and count. When the value is 1, it triggers continuous counting, making the count data range from 0 to 3, which influences the previous effects and generates continuous variation.
A keyboardin component is added to reset the count value to 0. Next, logic and express components are connected and multiplied using the math component to determine the subsequent count value. A chopexecute component is also connected, with code written to control the different changes in the two switch components and the cross component.

This image symbolizes a bright future: in this future, humans and artificial intelligence coexist harmoniously, trust each other, and progress together. Through this collaborative effort, we can better tackle various challenges, achieve a higher quality of life, and realize more efficient work patterns. This is not only the result of technological development but also a reflection of human wisdom and the spirit of innovation.
The use of an Arduino button symbolizes the intermediary role played by designers, developers, and others.
My father is a severe road rage sufferer. Observing his frequent displays of road rage behavior, I strongly feel that this is a societal issue worth addressing. Therefore, I have embarked on designing an innovative project: a car-integrated intelligent road rage emotion soothing system. By combining advanced emotion sensing technology with personalized calming strategies, the system aims to provide drivers with an effective means to alleviate stress, thereby enhancing the driving experience and fostering a safer, more pleasant road-sharing environment.
Could you share a recent incident of road rage that you experienced?
During this holiday, was driving slowly on the highway when a car suddenly cut in from the right. I honked, took a photo of the license plate, and got upset because they didn’t signal. When caught up, the passengers dismissed me, which made me angrier. My friends told me to let it go, but almost confronted them. Later, my friends said didn’t seem like myself, and felt ashamed. I don’t understand why lose control of my emotions when driving.
How do you exhibit symptoms of road rage?
At first, silently complained. Then, I started honking at slow cars and pedestrians. Eventually, sped up to overtake and argued with drivers who changed lanes suddenly.
Lieutenant Li, as a seasoned traffic police officer, what are your views on road rage?
Road rage has become a serious issue in recent years for traffic
Based on the traffic accidents you've encountered over the years caused by road rage, what do you believe are the main reasons behind the occurrence of road rage?
What role do you think the police play in incidents involving road rage?
The police primarily play a role in advising, delineating responsibilities, enforcing penalties, and providing guidance and de-escalation.
Do you have any thoughts on reducing incidents of road rage?
1. Road rage can happen to anyone, not just those with a quick temper, and individuals who have exhibited road rage behavior are generally prone to repeating it.
2. Without emotional soothing, even after an accident, emotions may remain uncontrollable.
3. Police play a more significant role in handling accidents caused by road rage, unable to intervene promptly as emotions escalate and lose control.
