FARMING IS NOT JUST A JOB, IT'S A WAY OF LIFE
Most of us sit at the dinner table with family or go out to our favorite restaurant and enjoy having fresh foods like steak, burgers, and vegetables. Or maybe you like fresh fruits like grapes, apples, or other types of fruit, maybe you favor some frozen foods like pizza. But how many of us actually know where these foods come from?
It doesn’t matter if you choose an alternative diet such as vegan or vegetarian, we all should still consider thanking a farmer. Farming is not just a job, it's a way of life. Without farming we wouldn't have anything, which is why we thank farmers. Farmers bring meals to the table that families can enjoy joining together to eat dinner.
Coming from a farming family I know what the farm life is like, it is tough but farmers power through. Farmers put in countless hours to prove for not only communities but our country as well. When it comes to all the hard work and determination farmers put in to make a difference, it all comes down to their job. Farmers have an extremely important job: feeding the world. Their jobs require them to work long, tiresome hours and battle tough economic and weather conditions, but most farmers and producers don’t see it that way. They have a deep passion and commitment to their work, and most would say they wouldn’t trade their jobs for anything. It is because of these hardworking individuals that most of the products we have in today’s society are available in communities. Farmers are individuals who hardly ever get recognition for their work and what they provide.
So in conclusion, you should thank a farmer for getting up early and staying up late to provide top-quality food for you and me. We thank farmers for keeping the economy steady by buying and selling just about anything you can imagine.

NICK MCHARGUE Candidate for Mayor
To the Citizens of Trenton, My decision to be a candidate for mayor was based on the State of Missouri announcing it was releasing more money for road improvements.
With our street department expertise and equipment, Trenton had a profit of almost four hundred thousand dollars. With more state money, Trenton might increase profit to five hundred thousand. This would enable the city to continue to upgrade equipment and give employees (police, fire, street and utility) wages competitive with other employers.
The City might also adjust utility rates. This would give the working and retired citizens cheaper utilities and some extra spendable money.
Financially, the City is very strong and in a good position. The City has a three million dollar reserve and the Utility has a ten million dollar reserve. The Utility has had a profit of over a million dollars the last few years. With this profit and reserve there should be a possibility for some reductions in utility rates. This could be almost three hundred dollars a year for some.
Recent developments in attracting investors and business that have been made possible by local real estate agents and industrial development corporation have been a large benefit. This should continue to be supported.
All of the statements are in need of council support to be implemented.
