Hello neighbors and friends,
I am Jan L. Roberts and I am running as a write in candidate for Gallatin City Mayor. This letter is to inform you about who I am and why I am running and what my focus will be. First, I have always been a conservative and I want to be active in the role as Mayor. I would like to see improvements in several areas.
Bio: I come from a Military family starting with two of my Great-Grandfathers in the Civil War, grandfather in WWII, many uncl es as well, my Father 20 years in the U.S. Air Force (Korean Vet) and myself U.S. Air Force (Vietnam Era). I have a Son in the U.S. Navy to retire in 3-4 years, Senior Master Chief. I love the United States. I am a 100% disabled Veteran. My wife, Audrey, and I have seven children, 6 girls and 1 son.
I have lived in many areas of the World and have been an entrepreneur for many years until retirement. I have owned an automotive establishment, restaurants, management in several others before returning to the University to follow studies in Medicine and Nursing. After Graduation I worked at several Medical Facilities. I started a Hospice Agency for a Hospital and became the Department head. In the next few years, I became unhappy not being able to do what I wanted, to help people, so I quit to never work for a company again that always told me, no you can’t do that.
So, I went into competition with the local hospital and the Hospice I created. I became the State Hospice Organization President. My Hospice was very successful, I never turned anyone away and never hurt for doing it. In fact, I started a Home Health Agency, Durable Medical Equipment Company and a Dialysis Center. I Built the Dialysis Center myself.
A few years passed and it was good, then things changed and I closed the agencies, didn’t want to sell them because I knew what I had created. So, I gave all my equipment away to agencies that needed it.
We ended up moving to Europe for nine years and assisted the medical agencies there to learn what Terminal Care really meant in the home. Trained in areas they had never seen. One of the most interesting things is that the Physicians began to accept me and recognize me as a colleague. A great nine years. It was then time to return to retirement and Grandchildren.

So why do I want to be Mayor of Gallatin? I will make a list.
• To serve and polish this rough diamond.
• Bring youth into active meaningful service.
• Help establish a reason to stay or come back.
• To prevent Gallatin from becoming Breckenridge, Kingston.
• Create a better image.
• Improve the entire city, not just Main Street.
• Increase prosperity.
• Work with business and non-business alike.
• Clean up the city.
• Be open and really transparent!
