PREPARATION
Preheat oven to 375º F.
HONEY BAKED HAM SAVORY BRUNCH BAKE INGREDIENTS
• 5 ounces Honey Baked Ham®, diced • 1 tablespoon butter • 1 large yellow onion, finely chopped • 2 tablespoons olive oil • 1 lb cremini mushrooms, sliced • 1 teaspoon salt, divided • 5 large eggs, beaten • 1 cup whole milk • 1 cup heavy cream • ½ teaspoon ground pepper • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg • 2 teaspoons fresh thyme, finely chopped • 1 ¼ cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided • 4–5 slices stale bread (any bread) torn into chunks
Warm butter in a large pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the onion and cook until soft, about 6–8 min. Remove onions from pan and set aside. Add the olive oil to the pan. Once oil is hot, add the mushrooms and ½ tsp salt. Cook mushrooms until browned, another 8–10 min. Remove mushrooms from pan and add to the onions. In a large mixing bowl combine eggs, milk, cream, pepper, nutmeg, thyme, and remaining salt and whisk until smooth. In an 8x8-inch baking pan, mix the Honey Baked Ham, ¾ cup cheese, bread chunks, onions, and mushrooms. Spread the mixture evenly in pan. Pour custard over the bread mixture, filling up the pan. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Let pan sit for 10 min to allow the bread to soak up the custard. Bake for 50–60 minutes or until the bake has an internal temperature of 165º F. Let rest for 10 min before serving. Spoon onto a plate and ENJOY!
