LANET CHRONICLES

A Pastor’s Mission; A Community Transformed

On a quiet Good Friday morning in Kiundu, Lanet Umoja Ward, hope arrived not in grand speeches, but in simple acts of kindness—warm meals, clean clothes, and open arms. For more than 60 vulnerable children, the day became more than just a date on the calendar.

The day became a reminder that they had not been forgotten.

In the modest community of Kiundu and its surrounding, Pastor Felix of Kingdom Zoe Ministries, alongside his wife and a group of well-wishers, operate. Their mission is clearly defined.

Kingdom Zoe Ministries reaches out to children burdened by hunger, neglect, and hardship. The goal is driven by a compassionate call to offer both spiritual and physical nourishment. The result is usually immediate and powerful as it slaps the children with smiles. The compassionate gestures replace worry with laughter cutting through what had long been silence.

These children, many of whom endure harsh realities, found temporary refuge in the care extended to them. Some wait late into the night—sometimes until 2:00 a.m.—for parents who may never return sober. Others face risks that no child should encounter. From exposure to crime to deeply distressing home environments shaped by substance abuse, these children are living a reality tougher than usual life experiences.

For them, this outreach was not just charity; it was relief, dignity, and a glimpse of something better.

Pastor Felix understands this struggle intimately, though it wasn’t always part of his journey. Back in 2016, while working at the Kenya Ports Authority in Mombasa, he felt a call he could not ignore. Leaving behind stability, he sold his belongings, pursued Bible school, and eventually returned home. By 2022, he had secured land in Kiundu and established a ministry that would soon become a lifeline for many.

What began as a place of worship quickly evolved into something deeper. As children kept coming— drawn by a sense of safety and belonging—Pastor Felix saw the widening gap between them and their peers elsewhere. He witnessed firsthand how early exposure to neglect and harmful environments was shaping their lives. That realization shifted his mission toward compassion-driven service.

Day care facility in progress

Today, the church is more than a spiritual center. It is growing into a structured support system, including a developing daycare facility aimed at protecting and nurturing vulnerable children. Beyond the children, the ministry also reaches out to parents, offering spiritual guidance with the belief that transformation at home is key to lasting change.

To him, these challenges affirm the importance of the work. “We are here to model God’s love,” he says, “and that alone is reason to continue.”

On that Good Friday, the message was echoed by an unexpected guest, Bishop Wambua, who reminded the congregation of a pressing truth: many children today are lost, and it is up to communities to provide direction—a spiritual map grounded in faith and care.

As the day drew to a close, the supplies would eventually run out, and the children would return to their daily realities. But something far more lasting had been planted—a sense of worth, a spark of hope, and the quiet assurance that someone cares. In Kiundu, that may just be the beginning of a much bigger story.

Pastor Felix is welcomes well-wishers and peoples of goodwill from all corners of the to be a blessing to the vulnerable children.

The journey has not been smooth. There have been moments of rejection, even from those the ministry seeks to help. Yet, Pastor Felix remains steady.

From Lanet to the Land of Opportunity: Real Pathways to the U.S

During my hunt to come and work in the U.S., there is one thing I have learned— anyone can thrive, regardless of age or background.

What matters most is planning. As we say back home, kazi ni mob, especially if you already have a profession back at home, Kenya. The opportunities are real, but you have to approach them strategically.

Let me break it down for you, my people.

The most straightforward route is family-based immigration. If you have a close relative who is a U.S. citizen or a Green Card holder, this path can move faster than most. “Hii njia ni quick sana especially for spouses, parents, and children,” I always tell people. It is all about leveraging existing family connections. Then there is employment-based immigration. I personally recommend this avenue.

The U.S. is actively looking for skilled workers. “Currently, I know about Nursing, Hospitality and Teaching.” I have seen many Kenyans succeed here. The key is finding employers willing to sponsor visas— this is where proper research and persistence come in.

Another golden opportunity is the Diversity Visa Lottery. It opens every October, and honestly, it is one of the simplest ways in. “I highly recommend it too” because it does not require sponsorship—just luck and meeting basic qualifications.

For those with financial muscle, the EB-5 investment option is available. “Ideal for wealthy people who can invest 800k USD” However, this is clearly not for everyone.

Now, let us be real—some people try the asylum route. But I always caution: “Nowadays it’s not strong enough to win you a visa,” Besides, it is risky to rely on fabricated stories. The system has become stricter. Honesty matters.

If you are a teacher, you are in a very strong position right now. Agencies like Search Associates and ISS actively recruit internationally. Others like U.S. Global Teachers, IAG, Greenheart Exchange, and EPI handle placements and visa sponsorships. “These agencies provide vetting, visa sponsorship, and recruitment services” They make the process smoother.

For those interested in hospitality, companies like Royal Caribbean and Carnival Cruise Line are constantly hiring globally. They offer visa support and international exposure.

The truth is, the American dream is still alive—but it is not accidental. “It just needs proper planning.” Whether through family, work, lottery, or investment, the door is open. From Lanet to the U.S., the journey is possible. Prepare well, choose the right path, and take that step.
