Demolition of the oldest building/business on Main Street, Upsala took place on Tuesday, Dec. 6. The buiding was originally the hardware/general store owned by John and Erikka Swedback. The Swedback farm, purchased July 6, 1885, consisted of 10 acres which included much of the west side of Main Street. Later the building was sold to the Millers where they published the Upsala News-Tribune. For the past 40+ years it has been an apartment building. History courtesy of Dr. Steve Johnson.
