Visualization helps you live your dreams -By Harvey Mackay

The old saying goes: If you can dream it, you can do it.

I think that’s more than just an axiom. I believe that visualization is one of the most powerful means of achieving personal goals. To have an idea or dream, and then see how you can make it happen, helps shape your plans and defines your goals more clearly.

Many people, especially athletes and celebrities, have discovered the amazing power of visualization and have used it to enhance their careers and achieve their goals and dreams.

Actor Jim Carrey wrote a check to himself in 1987 in the sum of $10 million. He hopefully dated it Thanksgiving 1995 and added the notation, “for acting services rendered.” He visualized it for years and in 1994, he received $10 million for his role in “Dumb and Dumber.”

Oprah Winfrey openly used visualization techniques on her talk show.

She often talked about the power of the subconscious mind and goal-focusing techniques. Oprah said, “The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life

Nobel Laureate Jonas Salk was asked how he went about inventing the polio vaccine. His reply: “I pictured myself as a virus or a cancer cell and tried to sense what it would be like.”

When I was 13 years old I dreamed about owning a factory. Then when I actually owned the factory, I visualized selling the largest and most prestigious account in town - General Mills. And I finally did it.

One of the most well-known studies on creative visualization in sports occurred when Russian scientists compared four groups of Olympic athletes in terms of their physical and mental training ratios: • Group 1 received 100% physical training.

• Group 2 received 75% physical training and 25% mental training.

• Group 3 received 50% mental training and 50% physical training.

• Group 4 received 75% mental training with 25% physical training.

Unbelievably group 4 had the best performance results, indicating that mental training or visualization can have significant measurable effects on biological performance.

Similarly, for many years Russian gymnasts dominated the Olympic Games. The Americans trained just as hard, but they couldn’t compete with the near flawless Russians. It wasn’t until many years later that the Americans and others discovered that the Russians used sports psychologists to help with mental training techniques. They spent a few hours each day visualizing their routines with perfect landings, twists and jumps.

Today, most top athletes use the power of visualization to perform at their peak.

People who soar refuse to sit back and wait for things to change. They visualize that they are not quitters. They will not allow circumstances to keep them down.

Back in 1952, Florence Chadwick became the first woman to ever swim the Catalina Channel. She had to make two attempts before she achieved her goal.

On her first try, she quit after swimming 21-and-a-half miles and finishing only a half-mile from shore. The reason? It wasn’t the freezing cold water. Or the fear of the sharks circling around her. Or even her fatigue. She told reporters later that it was because she couldn’t see the shore through the fog. She had lost sight of her goal.

Two months later, she swam the channel again - this time with a clear mental picture of the shore that lay beyond the fog. She not only became the first woman to swim the channel - she beat the existing world record by two hours!

History teems with tales of experts who were convinced that the ideas, plans and projects of others could never be achieved. But then someone else came along and accomplished those dreams with a can-do attitude.

Snow does not mean safe ice With the recent snowfall and cold weather, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is reminding everyone, the ice in many parts of the state is still not thick enough for most recreational activities.

“We know people want to get out and enjoy the snow, but they shouldn’t put themself or anyone else in danger by going out on the ice,” said Capt. Greg Salo, DNR Regional Enforcement supervisor.

Currently, layers of snow are insulating already brittle ice making it even more dangerous.

“The ice was not safe before Sunday’s snow and now it’s going to take even longer for it to become thick

enough for travel,” said Salo.

Snowmobilers need to be extremely cautious, Salo said, because riders might not realize several trails take them over ponds, wetlands and lakes.

Last winter, four people died after falling through thin ice.

DNR clear ice thickness recommendations are: • 4 inches for walking.

• 5 inches for a snowmobile or ATV. • 8-12 inches for a car.

• 12-15 inches for a medium-sized truck.

Are you reading these stories with the aid of an electric light? Consider the plight of Benjamin Franklin. He was admonished to stop his foolish experiments with lighting. What a waste of time! It was absurd to think anything could outdo the fabulous oil lamp. Thank goodness Franklin “saw the light” - and made it happen.

Obituaries Marlene M. Bromeling

Marlene M. Bromeling, 72 year old resident of Long Prairie, MN passed away We d n e s d a y, December 5, 2012 at CentraCare Health System in Long Prairie.

F u n e r a l Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Long Prairie, MN with Rev. Andrew Brown officiating. Burial will be at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Thursday at First Baptist Church in Long Prairie.

Marlene M. Bromeling was born on January 5, 1940, in Owatonna, Minnesota to the late Lowell Sr. and Delma (Caspari) Mollenhauer. She grew up and attended school in Owatonna. After graduation, Marlene went to college for nursing and obtained her Nursing Certificate.

She was united in marriage to Edward Bromeling on October 17, 1959. The coupled farmed with Edward’s parents until moving to Long Prairie, MN in 1974. The couple then purchased a farm north of Long Prairie where they raised their six children. Marlene worked as a C.N.A. at St. Michaels in Sauk Centre and at the Clarrisa Care Center for 20 years. She was a Home Health Aide for Todd County for 15 years. Marlene was

Glen D. Swanson a member of the First Baptist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary in Long Prairie. She was a very active in 4-H, she was a 4-H leader for 30 years and also helped at the Todd County Fair the past three years. Marlene enjoyed all her children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Her hobbies included needle craft, playing cards, baking and cooking. She will be greatly missed by her two youngest grandchildren, who spent a lot of time with grandma playing cards and telling stories. Grandma and Grandpa meant the world to Johnny and Nicole and they will be lost without them both. Marlene and Ed were very special people and will be Greatly Missed by everyone.

Left to cherish her memory are her six children, sons, Lorin (Judy) Bromeling of South Dakota, Lloyd (Kathy) Bromeling of Illinois; daughters, Donna Werner and special friend, Bill, of Burtrum, MN, Debbie (Val) Pachulla of Little Falls, MN, Danica of Little Falls, MN and Denise (Byron) Gill of Swanville, MN; brother, Lowell Jr. of Owatonna, MN; cousin, Sandy Jirele of Owatonna, MN; 18 grandchildren, 4 great -grandchildren; nieces; nephews and many special friends.

Marlene was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ed of 52 years; daughter, Dawn in 1964; parents, Lowell Sr.& Delma Mollenhauer; sister, Lorriane.

Lions Club and a 50 year member of American Legion Post #350. He raised beef cattle on his farm and also drove school bus for 12 years for the Upsala School District. He was an active member of the Upsala Senior Center where he spent much time playing pool and cribbage.

Glen loved to travel and the highlight of each trip was visiting family and friends.

He also enjoyed motorcycling, especially when he purchased his first Honda Goldwing motorcycle. Though Glen had many hobbies and interests he truly loved being with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Glen spent the last 16 months of his life at St. Otto’s Care Center receiving extra special care from the wonderful staff. Glen was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.

Glen is survived by wife, Joyce Swanson of Upsala, MN; son, Mark Swanson of Minneapolis, MN; daughters, Sharon Wunsch of Eden Prairie, MN and Patricia (David) Gunderson of Upsala, MN; grandchildren, John (Karissa) Wunsch of Onalaska, WI, Jennifer (Aaron) Carrell of Minneapolis, MN, Jodi (Tony) Gallup of Eden Prairie, MN, Sara (Mark) Okern of Chaska, MN, Amy (Steve) Tanner of Blaine, MN, and Karl Gunderson of Upsala, MN; great-grandchildren, Lyla & Brielle Carrell, Abigail Gallup, and Makayla Tanner. Honorary family members Karl (Theresa) Passmore of McHenry, IL; Mauricio (Vanessa) San Roman of Celaya, Mexico.

Glen was preceded in death by parents, brother & sister-in-law, James & Yvonne Swanson; and son-in-law, Herb Wunsch.

Funeral arrangements were with the Shelley Funeral Chapels.

Glen D. Swanson, 86 year old resident of Upsala, MN passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at St. Otto’s Care Center in Little Falls, MN. Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Upsala, MN with Rev. Trish Jorgenson officiating. Burial took place in the Gethsemane Lutheran Cemetery.

Glen was born on September 21, 1926 in Elmdale Township, MN to the late Joseph and Esther (Stenholm) Swanson.

He was baptized, confirmed, and a life long member of Gethsemane Church in Upsala, MN. Glen grew up on the family farm on Long Lake and attended school in Upsala, MN graduating in 1945. After graduation he worked in Minneapolis, MN. Glen served in the US Army in the 110th Infantry Division from 1952 until 1954 where he was stationed in Germany. Upon his honorable discharge Glen returned to work in Minneapolis until 1959 when his father passed away. He then returned home to Upsala and took over the family business, Swanson Oil Co. Glen was united in marriage to Joyce Gerlach on August 5, 1961 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Upsala, MN. He enjoyed water and snow skiing, trap shooting, golfing, watching and attending sporting events.

near Albany. George also worked for the Stearns Morrison Enterprise after retiring from farming. Just recently the couple moved into the Mother-of-Mercy apartments. George enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins play baseball and he loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany, the Knights of Columbus and the St. Joseph’s Society.

George is survived by his wife, Cordella, Albany. His children, Sharon (James) Westphal, Fargo, ND; Kevin (Cindy) Kloeppner, Annandale, Julie Kleve, Albany; his sister, Dorothy Dirkes, Albany, 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Florentine Meier.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his son, Victor Kloeppner; his brothers and sisters, Ann Schleppenbach, Tony Meier, Lena Meier, Joseph Meier, Agnes Meier, Theresa Blenker, Peter Meier, Andrew Meier and Nick Meier; and his son-in-law DelRoy Kleve.

The Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of George C. Meier, age 90 of Albany, was held December 12, 2012 at Church of Seven Dolors in Albany. Burial followed in the parish cemetery.

Donald May

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday December 14, at the Church of All Saints, St. Hedwigs in Holdingford for Donald May age 76 of Holdingford.

He passed away unexpectedly Monday, December 10th at his home.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday December 13th and Friday, 1 hour before mass at St. Hedwig’s Church, Holdingford. Burial will be at a later date.

Donnie was born January 28,1936 in St. Cloud to Mabel (Granquist) and Fred May. The family moved to Holdingford when they bought and ran the Korner Kitchen Restaurant. Donnie married Millie Paggen April 16, 1956 at St. Hedwig’s Church and spent the rest of his life in Holdingford. Donnie & Millie were married 56 years had three daughters and two sons.

Catherine Lichy

Services celebrating the life of Catherine Lichy, age 98 of Holdingford, will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 13, at the Church of All Saints, St. Hedwig in Holdingford.

Burial will be in the Arban Cemetery. Catherine died Saturday, December 8, 2012, at the Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany. There will be a visitation after 10:00 AM Thursday at the church.

Catherine was born April 27, 1914 in St. Anna to Paul and Rosellia (Kobenia) Schmainda. She married Adolph F. Lichy on September 14, 1937 in St. Anna. The couple farmed in Holding Township on the family farm which was established

Donnie first worked as butter maker at the Holdingford Creamery.

When the creamery closed he worked at Franklin Mfg in St. Cloud as a night shift supervisor for many years.

He drove school bus for Holdingford School District and was a custodian and grounds keeper for both St. Hedwig’s & St. Mary’s Churches for 21 years.

He was a member of the Holdingford Fire Dept for 28 years, and belonged to American Legion Frank Feia Post 211, Holdingford.

Donnie enjoyed motorcycling, camping, fishing, hunting and his most favorite was winter spear fishing. Millie was the love of his life, along with his children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

Donnie is survived by his wife Millie, children JoAnn (Ron) Holm, New Brighton, Susan (Douglas) Marstein, Holdingford, Tom (Mary) May, St. Cloud, Diane Scott, Forest Lake. 21 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mabel and Fred May, son Danny, brother LeRoy and granddaughters Angela and Amy.

Dale E. Schultz

Dale E. Schultz, age 76 of Albany, died on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany, Minnesota.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.

Friday, December 14 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Albany. Interment will be at Our Savior’s Lutheran Cemetery in Albany.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m.

Thursday and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church in Albany.

Dale Edward Schultz was born December 31, 1935 in Long Prairie Township, Todd County, Minnesota to Edward and Ella (Dehn) Schultz.

He graduated from Long Prairie High School in 1955 then worked for a farmer in North Dakota. He enlisted in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1960. During that time, he was stationed in Leghorn, Italy which he much enjoyed. After the Army, he returned to Long Prairie and worked

in 1879. Catherine and Adolph had one daughter and four sons. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Arban. When that closed, she joined St. Hedwig’s Church in Holdingford where Catherine was active in the Christian Mothers. Catherine is remembered as the family “firecracker” who enjoyed playing cards, bowling, music and dancing. She loved lilacs and red roses. She lived a rich and full life during her 98 years. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Catherine is survived by her three sons, Darrell (Claire) Lichy, Champlin; Duane (Jan) Lichy, Avon; and Jeff (Pam) Lichy, Avon. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Adolph; daughter, Phyllis and son, Kenneth. She is also preceded by her twelve sisters and brothers; Teckla, Victoria, Gertrude, Marie, Peter, Joseph, John, Paul, Frank, Charles, Stanley and Steve.

Upsala parents, families, and friends received an early Christmas present on Monday, December 10 courtesy of the Upsala Area School bands. Under the direction of Denise Cheney, all three school bands performed in the Annual Holiday Concert in the Upsala Auditorium. The Elementary Band started the evening on a festive note, playing a variety of holiday favorites, including “Jingle Bells”, “Jolly Old Saint Nicholas”, and “Up On A Housetop.” The Junior High Band was next with four numbers highlighed by “Aztec Sunrise,” “Cowboy Rhapsody,” and two fun versions of “Cool Cat Shuffle.” The Senior High Band, thirty-eight members strong, topped off the evening with six delightful pieces, including a concert march called “Jingle Bells Forever,” “The Sounds of Christmas,” and 1955 hit by Big Joe Turner, “Flip, Flop and Fly.” Submitted by Bill Abeler.

Upsala Jr. High Student of the Month The Upsala Junior High Student of the Month for November is Ben Blonigen.

Ben is the son of Steve and Kathy Blonigen. Ben has been named to the A honor roll, as well as participating in Knowledge Bowl, Band, Choir, and the Fall Play. Ben is also a member of the UAS Student Council, and is a member of the local 4-H club.

Ben’s favorite class is math because he likes working with numbers. He believes that English is the most valuable

class because everyone needs to know proper English. Ben’s hobbies include putting things together and gardening.

His future plans include graduating from college.

Ben’s band and choir teacher, Mrs. Denise Cheney states, “Ben Blonigen is a shining example of hard work and talent. He started on the trombone in 5th grade and is doing an awesome job.

His hard work makes it look and sound easy. Besides playing in Jr. High Band, he performs with the Albany Community Band, which allows him to play literature that is more demanding. He is a conscientious young man and a joy to have in class.”

Ben’s advice for his classmates is, “If you work hard, do your homework, and have confidence in yourself, you can accomplish almost anything.”

Current surplus allows K-12 repayment.

One of the state’s major financial reports was released last week, and it caused some confusion. The November report showed Minnesota was ending the current fiscal year with a surplus of over $1 billion, but added that we faced a similarsized deficit in the upcoming biennium.

How can that be, and are both numbers “right?”

Yes, both are correct, but keep in mind that the second number, the one projecting a deficit, is only a guess as to what would happen if current law remains in place and automatic spending increases are allowed to occur during the

upcoming two years beginning on July 1 of 2013. Using those future projections, we will take in approximately $35.8 billion of revenue while spending $36.9 billion, .hence the deficit of $1.1 billion.

And since the state cannot operate in a deficit, the Legislature will need to make adjustments to either reduce projected spending or increase revenue (raise taxes), or some combination of both.

One might then ask about the surplus at the end of this current biennium, and that’s a good question. State law dictates what must be done with any surplus when we have borrowed from our schools and utilized the well-publicized “education shift.” When the state’s cash flow and reserve accounts have been fully replenished to the tune of approximately $960 million, then any remaining surplus funds must be used to repay the shift. And that’s what’s being done with this surplus. The $1.3 billion that was mentioned as a surplus in the November forecast is going to our schools as repayment for the shift. Those funds will be sent out starting with their monthly state aid checks on Dec. 15.

That’s good news and marks the second repayment of the shift. Back in March another payment was made following the news of a surplus in the February forecast. In all, we have recovered nicely from the projected $5 billion deficit that Minnesota faced just two years ago.

The largest single cut would occur to the WIC program, which would see its funding cut by approximately $8 million.

CHS, the nation’s largest agricultural cooperative, held its annual meeting last week in Minneapolis. Thanks in large measure to its energy section, earnings for the year topped the $1 billion mark.

In addition to returning a large portion of that back to its patron-members, the coop also announced plans to construct a nitrogen fertilizer plant near Jamestown, N.D., that would utilize natural gas from the Bakken oil reserves in the western part of the state. The proposed $1.4 billion facility located at Spiritwood would be the largest single construction project in the history of North Dakota. The project is still in the planning stage, and if it receives final approval, a completion date of 2016 is projected.

After the clouds gave way to the sunshine, a mother decided to take her two sons for a walk. As they passed a large mud puddle, the older son pushed his smaller brother into it. Astonished, the mother asked, “Why did you do that?”

“Because,” he replied, “I was tricked.”

“What do you mean tricked?” she asked.

“Well,” he replied, “when the idea first came to my mind, it felt so good that I thought the Lord was talking to me and telling me to do it. But I guess it was the devil.”

It is not always safe to go by our feelings. It is not always wise to go by the wisdom of this world. And it is not always smart to go by the sayings of others. But it is safe to put our faith and trust in God and to follow His Word.

Faith has no value of its own unless it is accompanied by works that honor God. We read in the Bible that His Word is true and useful and will show us what is right or wrong in our lives - that it will always put our faith in God ahead of our feelings.

Local Municipality Minutes Burnhamville Township November 27, 2012 The regular meeting of the Town Board of Burnhamville Township was held November 27, 2012 at the Burtrum Community Center. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by chair Mike Berscheit. Members present include Supervisors: Mike Berscheit, Bruce Johnson, and Louis Thompson; Clerk Shirley Hulinsky; and Treasurer Pam Throener. Others present: Erv Herdering.

Sup. Johnson made a motion to approve the minutes of the regular meeting October 30, 2012.

Motion seconded by Sup. Thompson. Motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to pay all bills numbered 4715 through 4734: Rev. $1,500.52, R&B $4,281.35. Sup. Johnson seconded the motion. Motions passed.

The board heard some complaints about taxes in the township being raised. As the township did not increase the levy the board did not know why taxes went up. A member is checking with the county treasurer.

The Swanville City council is having a hearing on December 4, 2012 at 7:15 for the land annexation. One of the board members should attend to reaffirm that the township approves the annexation as it is for use by the school district.

Grey Eagle City held the annual fire department meeting with the cities and township officers.

The board heard a summary of the meeting which included an update on the new radio equipment from the county and very little service rate change.

The next regular meeting of the township board is scheduled for a holiday. After discussion Sup. Johnson made a motion to move the next meeting to December 18th at 7:00 p.m. Motion was seconded

by Sup. Thompson. Motion was passed and notices will go in local papers.

In the road report the contractor did get patch mix is from the county and the oiled road areas were spot patched.

Treasurer’s report showed a balance of $132,196.71 before tonight’s bills. Treasurer’s report accepted on a motion by Sup. Johnson and seconded by Sup. Berscheit.

Motion passed.

Motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Sup. Thompson.

Motion passed. The meeting adjourned at 7:37 p.m. Next regular meeting will be on December 18, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Burtrum Community Center.

Council members present were Andrea Kraska, Thom Muellner, Dennis Barrett and Joe Arnzen. There were no members absent. Also in attendance were Andy Bartkowicz, Lori Hellmann and guest Carl Butler.

A letter was sent to a resident, requiring that a portion of the cement sidewalk that was removed for sewer line repair be repaired.

The resident was given thirty days to make the necessary repairs or the City would make them and assess the cost to the property taxes. There was no contact from the resident and the repairs were not completed.

The council instructed Andy to take a look at what needs to be done and make the repairs.

A motion was made by Joe Arnzen to approve the 2012-2013 contract for snow removal with Herdering, Inc. A second was made

by Thom Muellner and upon vote, with all members voting in favor, motion carried.

The Council discussed plotting out the new section of the cemetery for burial lots. The Clerk was instructed to make contact with Larry Kerzman for an estimate on the cost of having this done before a decision is made.

The council discussed the estimates for replacing the roof on the Old City Hall. A test cut will be done to determine exactly what is under the rubber roof before a decision will be made.

Darryl Rekowski revised the estimate that he submitted in the fall of 2011, to trim the trees behind the fire hall. The revised cost would be to trim up nine trees for $1,800. The Mayor asked the council to look at the back of the fire hall and discuss the estimate at the December meeting.

A motion was made by Andrea Kraska to approve the easement agreement for Allan Beilke as approved by the City attorney. A second was made by Dennis Barrett and upon vote, with all members voting in favor, motion carried.

Additional agenda items: Fire Board meeting: Ray reported that he asked about the question of cost for a 911 call for a car accident in the township and was told there would not be a charge. He also reported that the township portion of the fire board budget for the township would decrease by a small amount.

Public Comment: Request to look into a tree hanging over Ascot Road and if it could be cut down or trimmed. John will check into that.

MnDOT snowplow crews rely on motorists to help keep Minnesota roads safe The Minnesota Department of Transportation’s snowplow operators are trained, experienced and prepared to assist motorists through this weekend’s winter weather in several parts of the state.

“Our crews have the equipment and technology to do an excellent job of clearing Minnesota’s roads,” said MnDOT Acting Commissioner Bernie Arseneau. “We need motorists to do their part to keep the roads safe this winter, by giving our plows room to work.”

Last year in Minnesota, there were 21 crashes involving vehicles that hit snowplows. This is typically caused by inattentive drivers, motorists driving too close to the plow or motorists driving

too fast for conditions.

Operators have much to monitor and control, and their ability to see behind them is limited by side mirrors. Their vision can also be hampered by the snow clouds they create while plowing.

“We all must get back into winter driving mode, which means increasing caution and patience while reducing distractions,” Arseneau urged. “To keep themselves safe and the highways open, motorists need to stay at least five car lengths away from snowplows and give the plows time to remove the snow.”

• Stay back at least five car lengths behind the plow, far from the snow cloud. Snowplow operators will pull over when it is safe to do so to allow traffic build-up to pass.

• Slow down to a safe speed for current conditions, and give yourself plenty of travel time. Snowplows typically move at slower speeds.

Upsala Sr. High Student of the Month Andrew Nelson, son of Mikel and Julie Nelson, has been selected as the November Senior High Student of the Month for Upsala Area Schools. A senior, Andrew is involved in football (captain), basketball, baseball, National Honor Society (President), and drama.

Andrew has a history of maintaining honor roll status as a student, most recently being recognized on the A honor roll. Andrew was named a captain on the USA football team and was named to the All-Conference and All-Section teams. Andrew was also named the UAS Athlete of the Month for October. This disease has devastated bat populations in the eastern United States and threatens those in the Midwest.

The disease name, White-nose Syndrome, comes from the white fungus that was observed on the muzzles, ears and wings of infected bats.

“But it is important to distinguish bats with the WNS fungus from bats with other molds or fungi,” Nordquist said. “More often, other unusual behavior will be observed, such as bats flying during the day in the winter or roosting outside when temperatures are below freezing.”
