Local Municipality Minutes: Burnhamville Township
Burnhamville Township June 28, 2022
The regular meeting of the Town Board of Burnhamville was held June 28, 2022 at the Burtrum Community Center. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair Mike Berscheit. Members present include Supervisors Bruce Johnson, Mike Berscheit and Joe Muellner; Clerk Shirley Hulinsky; and Treasurer Pam Throener. Also present were Mike and Jen Shaddock and Erv Herdering.

The minutes from the regular meeting of May 31, 2022 were approved on a motion by Sup. Johnson and second by Sup. Muellner. Motion passed.
For correspondence the township received letters about updated Census count, election judge training information, county meeting on May 30th storm damage.
Supervisors reviewed ditch mowing bid. Sup. Johnson motioned to approve the mowing bid from Mike Berscheit. Sup. Muellner seconded the motion. Sup. Berscheit abstained. Motion passed.
A motion was made by Sup. Muellner to pay all bills numbered 6267 through 6281 totaling $56,862.17. Sup. Berscheit seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Michael and Jennifer Shattuck presented a liquor license application for Shattuck’s Hub Supper Club. With everything in order Sup. Berscheit made a motion to approve the application and Sup. Muellner seconded the motion. With all voting in favor motion passed. Application will be sent to the county next.
The board had complaints of erosion problems on Dunlin Road. Residents on the lake side noted gravel and field debris going across Dunlin Road and onto their lawn. Supervisors and contractor discussed applying crushed asphalt to help hold gravel in place.
With the primary election on Tuesday, August 9 Sup. Berscheit made a motion to approve the election judges as Brenda Schwanke, Nancy Hillman, Pam Throener, Bonnie Alsleben, Mike Holmgren, Chuck Macy, Janice Lind, Beth Ramacher, and Shirley Hulinsky all pending completion of training. Sup. Johnson seconded the motion. Motion passed.
In the road report spraying dust control has started, but with storm damage repair and difficulty getting the spray it has been late getting the spraying done. No update from Todd County Soil and Water Conservation about erosion plan for a field next to Emerald Trail. A supervisor viewed the ruts the resident complained were caused by snow plow.
Treasurer’s report showed a balance of $140,219.22. Sup. Berscheit motioned to approve and Sup. Muellner seconded the motion. Motion passed.
June 30 is the deadline to complete weed grant purchase and spraying.
Discussed updating bank signature card and will do resolution next month.
A motion was made by Sup. Berscheit to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Sup. Johnson. Motion passed. Meeting was adjourned at 7:40 p.m. Next regular meeting will be on Tuesday, July 26 at 7 pm in the Burtrum Community Center.

What if you were required to follow the laws of one of the thousands of religions on the planet that you weren't born into and didn't believe in? The Bible speaks against this requirement under the "do not judge" command. The rules of the Bible are for Christians who honor its sacred text and most often were born into this faith.
Why won't the passionately Christian politicians show proof of their claim that there was voter fraud in the 2020 election? They don't have any proof but if they repeat the lie often enough we will believe it. They claim to be Christian but are often sinfully lying and judging making their religion look like a front. If they make it hard for citizens to vote they are hoping their tribe will have a better chance to stay in power. If they really were Christian they would hold the Biblical "do not judge" command close to heart allowing others to make their own decisions about their bodies and their lives. They would bring citizens together in loving kindness rather than waving guns and hammers to show how tough they are. They would work together in fairness for the good of all rather than repeatedly and sinfully laying blame and telling lies. What's their big motivator? Corporations and the rich legally and secretly give candidates and politicians millions of dollars to pass laws that cut regulations and their taxes all while denying the climate crisis. Big dark money also supports certain news media that spew lies and disinformation.
