This exhibition was prompted by a conversation with Haerin Choi and continued with my friend Theobald Wilkin-Miralles. Translation comes from the need to pass something on, communicate, and share a moment, a memory or a thought. In these processes, our deliverables often get contaminated or misunderstood. In the end, the exhibition is about words and feelings that cannot be translated - getting lost in translation. However, the art of communication is more important than the language itself. To be able to understand each other despite the barriers. Our obstacles can also become our joy, and language becomes a sheer pleasure to communicate and appreciate the person you are talking to. I am truly grateful to everyone who supported me and made this exhibition possible, including my course leader Tara Langford and my mentor Annette Fernando. I would also like to express my thanks to Graham Carrik from Fitzrovia Noir for providing me with a safe space to experiment with my ideas. Lucie Pardue and UAL Archives and Special Collections Centre for giving me an amazing opportunity to loan their collection, and Karren Harris from the UAL Multilingual Activities for thematic advice. I am very happy to learn and grow as an emerging curator through this process. Best Wishes, Alice
