I am delighted to welcome you all to our annual Prize-Giving Evening, a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate as a community the hard work of our students. It is a moment to reflect on their dedication, resilience, and hard work, and to recognise not only their academic accomplishments but also the meaningful contributions they have made to the wider community. Our staff are immensely proud of each and every one of them, having witnessed firsthand the effort, enthusiasm, and growth that has led to their success. Their achievements are a true reflection of the strong partnership between our dedicated staff and our talented students.
The Holy Cross School is a flourishing and vibrant environment in which our students thrive, reaching for excellence both in the classroom and in service to others. True to our mission statement, we applaud not only the academic success of our students, but also those girls who have served our school and the wider community seeking to make the world a better place. I am pleased to announce that as a recognition of our commitment to Catholic Social Teaching, we have renamed some of our earliest cups/awards to reflect our school's focus on Christian values and social justice. These prizes are awarded to students who have demonstrated outstanding dedication to these values in our community
I would also like to thank the parents, carers and families whose support, encouragement and belief in their daughter has been invaluable in this journey and has played a pivotal role in helping them reach their full potential.
Tonight we have the honour of being joined by our esteemed guest speaker, Zainab Adigun, and I know that her story will inspire our young people.
I hope you enjoy the evening and I thank you for all your support and confidence in our wonderful school.
