Prayer of Preparation: As we gather as God's people let us pray together: Almighty God, to whom all hearts are open, all desires known, and from whom no secrets are hidden: cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you, and worthily magnify your holy name, through Christ our Lord. The Confession Let us confess our sins in penitence and faith, confident in God's forgiveness. The Nicene Creed Let us together affirm the faith of the Church. We believe in one God, the Father, the almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary and became truly human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. Come let us take this holy sacrament of the body and blood of Christ in remembrance that he died for us, and feed on him in our hearts by faith with thanksgiving. Baptised Christians who receive communion in their own church are invited to share communion with us.

REPORT FROM VESTRY: • Buildings: The location of leaks in the church roof has been difficult, but the problem has been greatly reduced, and will be watched. A few small leaks in the halls are also under review. Work on the restoration of stonework in Pakington St near the organ are scheduled to start as soon as permits are granted and replacement sandstone is sourced. A number of working bees have achieved a great deal in moving the offices. Electrical work has been completed in the church for the office spaces and in the kitchen of the old Op shop. Smoke detectors are to be placed in the old Op Shop. • Gardens: appreciation for the work by Julie Burke was noted, and a replacement of unwell roses in the Memorial Garden is to be undertaken. • 150th anniversary projects: work continues on designs for a 2 new stained glass windows, a new set of green vestments, allocation of funds donated for KIVA micro-economic aid in developing countries, and the history book. • New buildings: while progress has been made in preparing for our new building (hall rentals, subdivision and lease/sale of Peel St car park, demolition of cottage, moving offices), we are still frustrated by the slow progress with the Diocesan Property Committee in being able to give final directions to our architects so that plans for submission to the Diocesan committees and Boroondara Council can be finalised. • Finances: With hall rentals now being received the financial position of the parish has been made more secure. We are currently hoping for only a small deficit at the end of the church financial year (ends September). We appreciate the strong support we are receiving from our parishioners to support Holy Trinity. 18
