THE MINISTRY OF THE WORD Readings from 'New Revised Standard Version' (NRSV) First Reading: DANIEL 7.9-10, 13-14 9

As I watched, thrones were set in place, and an Ancient One took his throne; his clothing was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool; his throne was fiery flames, and its wheels were burning fire. 10A stream of fire issued and flowed out from his presence. A thousand thousand served him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood attending him. The court sat in judgement, and the books were opened. 13As I watched in the night visions, I saw one like a human being coming with the clouds of heaven. And he came to the Ancient One and was presented before him. 14To him was given dominion and glory and kingship, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that shall not pass away, and his kingship is one that shall never be destroyed.

The Nicene Creed Let us together affirm the faith of the Church.

We believe in one God, the Father, the almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made.

For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary and became truly human.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried.

On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.

We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.

THE PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE Let us pray for all people and for the Church throughout the world.

Each petition of intercession or thanksgiving concludes with, Lord in your mercy, HEAR OUR PRAYER. We pray for: We pray for all who work for peace and justice.

We remember before God with thanksgiving the life of Dudley Rankine (1983), as we come to the anniversary of his entry into your nearer presence Almighty God, you have promised to hear our prayers.

Grant that what we have asked in faith We may by your grace receive, Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Jesus said: A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you.

John 13.34 [Let us pray] We do not presume to come to your table, merciful Lord, trusting in our own righteousness, but in your manifold and great mercies.

We are not worthy so much as to gather up the crumbs under your table.

But you are the same Lord whose nature is always to have mercy.

Grant us, therefore, gracious Lord, so to eat the flesh of your dear Son Jesus Christ, and to drink his blood, that we may evermore dwell in him, and he in us. Amen.

The Confession Let us confess our sins in penitence and faith, confident in God's forgiveness.

Merciful God, our maker and our judge, we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, and in what we have failed to do: we have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbours as ourselves; we repent, and are sorry for all our sins.

Father, forgive us.

Come let us take this holy sacrament of the body and blood of Christ in remembrance that he died for us, and feed on him in our hearts by faith with thanksgiving.

Baptised Christians who receive communion in their own church are invited to share communion with us.

Communion wine may be received: (a) from the common cup from the first of the two Eucharistic Assistants. (b) by intinction from the second of the Eucharistic Assistants where a small part of the wafer is carefully dipped in the wine, or (c) from an individual glass on request from the first Eucharistic Assistant.

Or you may choose to receive the wafer only (Communion in one kind).

THE SENDING OUT OF GOD'S PEOPLE Post Communion Prayer Prayer of self-offering Father, we offer ourselves to you as a living sacrifice through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Send us out in the power of your Spirit to live and work to your praise and glory. AMEN

Stewardship Program: Commitment forms can be left in the basket at the back of church or placed in the collection plate. To celebrate the presence of Holy Trinity in the community we have arranged a free 'Afternoon at the Proms' concert for 3pm today with the Boroondara Symphonic Band. The band will perform a selection of pieces from the traditional Last Night at the Proms repertoire and you will be able to join in a sing-a-long with some well-known favourites, including Land of Hope and Glory and Jerusalem. The programme will also include "Jupiter" from Holst's Planets' Suite, the Floral Dance (featured in the Film Brassed Off!), a lovely arrangement of Rutter's "For the Beauty of the Earth" and a medley of Gilbert and Sullivan tunes. Moreover, there will be a set of a set of variations, for euphonium soloist and band, based on the hymn tune Holy, Holy, Holy! (Nicaea).

We encourage all to attend and make this a bumper celebration of Holy Trinity.

ADVENT Study Groups: will meet for 4 weeks on Wednesdays - 1.30pm and 7.30pm groups, starting on 28th November.

DECEMBER STREET STALL: The Christmas Street Stall will be in the main drive on Saturday December 1. The Boroondara Symphonic Band will play in the morning.

Choir continues rehearsing for the Dec 16 Carols this week, anyone wishing to sing in the Carols service choir, rehearsal is at 11:30am Sundays. Email Stephen at music@holytrinitykew.org.au or phone: 0422 524 574 for further info.
