Praise to the living God, all praise be to his name, who was, and is, and is to be, and still the same: the one eternal God before what now appears, the First, the Last, beyond all thought his timeless years! 2. Prayer of Preparation: As we gather as God's people let us pray together: Almighty God, to whom all hearts are open, all desires known, and from whom no secrets are hidden: cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you, and worthily magnify your holy name, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Second Reading: Romans 8:12-25 12 So then, brothers and sisters, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh-- 13 for if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. 15 For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received a spirit of adoption. When we cry, "Abba! Father!" 16 it is that very Spirit bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ--if, in fact, we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him. 18 I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory about to be revealed to us. 19 For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the children of God; 20 for the creation was subjected to futility, not of its own will but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be set free from 7
its bondage to decay and will obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning in labor pains until now; 23 and not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly while we wait for adoption, the redemption of our bodies. 24 For in hope we were saved. GLORY TO YOU, LORD JESUS CHRIST. 24 He put before them another parable: "The kingdom of heaven may be compared to someone who sowed good seed in his field; 25 but while everybody was asleep, an enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and then went away. 26 So when the plants came up and bore grain, then the weeds appeared as well. 27 And the slaves of the householder came and said to him, 'Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? Where, then, did these weeds come from?' 28 He answered, 'An enemy has done this.' The slaves said to him, 'Then do you want us to go and gather them?' 29 But he replied, 'No; for in gathering the weeds you would uproot the wheat along with them. 30 Let both of them grow together until the harvest; and at harvest time I will tell the reapers, Collect the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn.' THE NICENE CREED Let us together affirm the faith of the Church. We believe in one God, the Father, the almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary and became truly human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen. 10

THE BREAKING OF THE BREAD AND THE COMMUNION {Celebrant}
We break this bread to share in the body of Christ. We who are many are one body, For we all share in the one bread.
The choir sings the Agnus Dei Come let us take this holy sacrament of the body and blood of Christ in remembrance that he died for us, and feed on him in our hearts by faith with thanksgiving.
Baptised Christians who receive communion in their own church are invited to share communion with us. Communion wine may be received: (a) from the common cup from the first of the two Eucharistic Assistants. (b) by intinction from the second of the Eucharistic Assistants where a small part of the wafer is carefully dipped in the wine, or (c) from an individual glass on request from the first Eucharistic Assistant. Building Report: The concept report from the architects was presented to the Diocesan Property Committee on 12th July and we await their response. Their recommendation will then be presented to the Archbishop in Council. Following that process we will be able to present a full report to the parish. 'Wrapped in love': is a program where donated wool is knitted into squares by those in rehabilitation or sitting with loved ones in hospital (or any other interested people). The squares are sewn into rugs and donated to those in need, both in Australia and overseas. Viv Harkness (9853 1776) is coordinating this activity and is looking for 8 ply wool/yarn and size 8 needles. Parishioners willing to knit squares or sew squares together are also needed. More details of the program are available on the website: www.artsandcraftsnsw.com.au/Wrap.htm Carnegie Education: are currently vacating the parish hall to move to a more permanent site. The short and long term use of the hall will be decided after we have received replies from the Property Committee and Archbishop-in-Council about our proposed building program. Next Sunday: Roy will be leading a 150th celebration service at Learmonth (just out of Ballarat). The Rev'd Dr Helen Granowski will be taking services at Holy Trinity.
