It is with great pride and gratitude that we present to you the 20232024 annual report for Holy Redeemer Catholic School. This report reflects not only your generosity in giving of your treasure and talents but also reflects the outstanding community we have built together over the past 25 years.
In September of 1999, parents, students and staff entered the halls of Holy Redeemer for the first time. During that first year, and for every year after that, we dreamed of what this school could become, and we worked together to make that dream come true. Twenty-five years later not only is that dream a reality, but in many ways, it has borne fruits that we never imagined. The community we have built, the friendships and bonds we have created, and the foundation for success that is laid within these walls have surpassed what we imagined. Twenty-five years have passed and have yielded memories, faith journeys and academic achievements that we hold dear to our hearts.
We are grateful to all who currently support our school and to those who have supported us in the past. To our founding students, parents and staff who laid the groundwork for the dream and for who we are today: We are grateful for all you have and continue to give to our shared vision. Your dream is our reality, and your dedication and support will forever be the foundation for our success. To all our alumni students, families and staff: We love seeing your children and grandchildren walking these halls, and we remain grateful for your continued financial and referral support. Each and every one of you is woven into the fabric of our community of education and faith. To the students, parents and staff who currently walk our halls: You are the present and the future of Holy Redeemer. You make a difference now and will do so for those Cardinals who will grace our halls in the years to come.
We celebrate 25 years of shared vision, stewardship and faith, and we look forward to the next 25 years. May God continue to bless you and your families and may He always bless Holy Redeemer Catholic School.
With Gratitude, Principal (2010-2024)

Our school takes seriously Jesus’command to live the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy. From our kindergarteners to our eighth grade students, Holy Redeemer Catholic School’s mission of service to others is evident.
Every February, in place of Valentine’s Day parties, every student participates in a Service from the Heart hour. Students work with their Saint Families on a variety of service projects to emphasize the love of Christ for everyone, especially those most in need.
Kindergarten students begin their journey of service by creating Christmas stockings filled with items for Catholic Charities’ Refugee Resettlement children to use in their new homes.
First Graders multiply their talents and collect funds to purchase items needed by children in the Mustard Seed communities of Nicaragua.
Second Graders reach out to their home and school communities by organizing a coat drive to collect coats for children and adults being assisted by St. Vincent de Paul Society of North Georgia.
Third Graders realize the potential within themselves to help others less fortunate by walking in the shoes of children who have been suddenly removed from their families. They use their talents to buy backpacks and items needed by the children assisted by the Foster Care Support Foundation.
Fourth Graders heed the call of Pope Francis by stewardship of God’s creation through a year-long recycling project on the Holy Redeemer campus.
Fifth Graders develop a business plan to reach out to their school and neighborhoods to collect new socks, pajamas and underwear for needy families received by North Fulton Community Charities.
In Middle School, the students begin a formal program focused on the Corporal Works of Mercy.
Sixth Graders work on projects designed to help the homeless in our local community.
In every way I have shown you that by hard work of that sort we must help the weak, and keep in mind the words of the Lord Jesus who himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’
Acts 20:35
Seventh Graders explore the issue of hunger among low-income Georgians in the context of their faith and raise funds for local food banks by participating in a fundraiser walk to support the ministries associated with Atlanta Food Bank.
Eighth Graders host a fundraiser dress down day and a baked goods raffle to support the life of the unborn babies of clients at the Pregnancy Aid Clinic. They also serve as hosts and hostesses for our annual Mardi Gras dinner.
HR students also conduct three all-school food drives during the year to support the food pantries of neighboring parishes and organizations.
1 Community ServiceAward for grade 7 participation and fundraising for Atlanta Hunger Walk
2 school-wide clothing drives
9 grade-level service projects
36 large bags of coats collected by grade 2
100s pairs of socks, underwear and pajamas collected by grade 5
$5,477 raised by grade 8 for PregnancyAid Clinic
Giving to Holy Redeemer School demonstrates your firm belief in the value of a Catholic education. When considering gifts to Holy Redeemer, remember there are many different giving options. All gifts benefit the school by helping to meet current operating expenses and supporting the exceptional programs and services we provide our students. As a bonus, most gifts are tax deductible.
Our success has been and continues to be a direct reflection of the support of our community. To learn more, please contact Tricia Navarro,Advancement Director, at 770-410-4056 ext. 213 or tnavarro @hrcatholicschool.org.
The Annual Fund is the foundation of giving at HR and the financial priority for our school. Gifts to the Annual Fund help bridge the gap between tuition and the actual cost to educate each student. Our goal is 100% parent, faculty and staff participation.
The Gala, Raffle, Seasonal Events and HR Art Show are various events and activities held throughout the school year that supplement our fundraising efforts.
Unrestricted Cash Contributions are a popular and convenient way to support Holy Redeemer Catholic School. Gifts can be made in a single contribution or pledged and paid in installments.
Many businesses have Matching Gift Programs that will double or even triple a contribution from an employee even after retirement. Information is available from your Human Resources Office or the Advancement Office.
The Cheryl Hogan Fund was established by the Hogan Family in loving memory of Cheryl Hogan, our founding Business Manager, in recognition of her passion for helping families in need. The fund provides tuition assistance to families who demonstrate financial need.
The Knights of Columbus Financial Assistance Fund (Council 13204) is a newly established fund for HR students with financial need. Holding to their original mission to assist widows and orphans, preference is given to Catholic students from single parent homes with documented financial need.
Gifts in Kind are non-cash gifts or items the school needs and uses such as computer equipment, office equipment or printing services.
Gifts of Securities, Stock or Bonds benefit the donor and the school. This type of gift is tax-deductible and may help the donor avoid paying capital gains tax on the appreciated stock or security.
The most common Planned Giving is through donor bequests, trusts, gift annuities, real estate, memorial gifts, life insurance and other financial instruments. A codicil naming Holy Redeemer Catholic School as a beneficiary can be added to an existing will.
Consider this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each must do as already determined, without sadness or compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
2 Corinthians 9:6-7
State taxpayers can donate to Georgia GOAL (formerly GRACE Scholars) and qualify for the Georgia Private School Tax Credit. Money that would have gone to the State of Georgia is now supporting Catholic schools in Georgia.
The Holy Redeemer Catholic School Endowment with the Catholic Foundation of North GA was established with a gift from Joseph Mitchell. This fund is in trust for HR through the Catholic Foundation of North Georgia. Donations can be made through the Foundation.
#iGiveCatholic inspires faithful stewards to "Give Back and Give Catholic" on Giving Tuesday, a global day of generosity and kindness. The #iGiveCatholic mission is to offer financial support to the organizations that help shape lives of faith…our parishes, schools and ministries.
The Annual Report has been prepared by the Advancement Office. Every effort has been made to accurately list all contributions made through June 30, 2024. Should any inaccuracies or omissions appear, please accept our sincerest apology.

In 2008, Georgia lawmakers voted to allow taxpayers to redirect a portion of their State income taxes to the support of private school education. GRACE Scholars was founded byArchbishop Wilton Gregory ofAtlanta and Bishop J. Kevin Boland of Savannah to take advantage of this new tax credit legislation. GRACE Scholars, Inc. provides scholarships to Georgia families that have proven financial need allowing them to secure a quality K-12 Catholic school education for their children.
Thank you to all the families who redirected their Georgia tax dollars to GRACE Scholars. HR currently has 35 GRACE Scholar students.

The 2024 Holy Redeemer Gala, Mambo & Mojitos, was held at the Country Club of Roswell on February 24, 2024. More than 200 parents, faculty, staff and friends came together for a fun evening of dancing, dining and bidding in support of our school. In addition to raising money for ongoing operating expenses, the Gala also raised funds for our new Raptor Technologies integrated school safety system. We are extremely grateful to our Gala chairperson, Stacie Prater, and to all of our sponsors, parents and volunteers!
