Curtain up on The Westbrook Theatre!
In early December, we launched an appeal to raise money to help us convert the Drama Studio into a Studio Theatre. With the College putting in £15,000 of its own funds and with £8,800 already pledged through the generosity of our community, we now only need to raise a further £6,200 to reach our £30,000 target. We’re also delighted to announce that our new theatre will have a new name: The Westbrook Theatre. Westbrook Waste is a local, family run business which drives an innovative and ethical approach to waste management and recycling solutions. Our students feel passionately about sustainability and the environment and these are running themes in the topics they choose to explore in the more creative elements of our curriculum (such as Art and Drama).
We can therefore think of no better partner to support the exciting future of our Drama department and we are proud that our theatre will bear the Westbrook name. The new floor will be laid in the Westbrook Theatre over half term with the seating installed shortly afterwards however we still need more support in order to ensure the theatre is appropriately fitted out with a lighting rig, lighting and sound boards and lighting. See page 3 to find out how you could support us. @holyportcollege
