1012.Smile, There’s Gin
Donated by: 6 O’Clock Gin, Miami This package from 6 O’Clock Gin includes four bottles of artisan gin, patiently distilled in the United Kingdom. London Dry is strikingly smooth to taste and beautiful to behold in its iconic Bristol-blue glass bottle. It’s 6 O’Clock’s original, multi-award-winning gin which has a soft and citrusy flavor, led by juniper, carefully balanced with coriander seed, angelica root, orris root, winter savory, elderflower and orange peel, all lovingly distilled for a deeply delicious taste experience. Brunel, at 50% ABV, is the ‘export strength’ expression of 6 O’Clock’s London Dry. Exquisitely engineered for a more complex flavor profile, they’ve added extra juniper and introduced six new botanicals--green cardamom, nutmeg, cumin, cassia bark, cubeb pepper and lemon--for a bolder, richer flavor; an earthy sweetness combines with citrus freshness for a dry spicy finish. Damson is fantastically fruity. Masses of luscious, hand-picked British damsons are left to steep for six months or more in 6 O’Clock’s London Dry. Slowly matured, the resulting rich, ruby-red gin is velvety and smooth with an intense depth of flavor and fruity dryness; unlike many fruit gins, it delivers quite a kick-- bottled with an alcohol content of 40%. Finally Sloe combines generous quantities of handpicked hedgerow sloes with just the right amount of sugar and 6 O’Clock’s London Dry. It soaks for at least six months. The high ‘sloe to gin ratio’ combined with this lengthy maturation process achieves a smooth, intensely rich and fruity flavor that retains some of its just-picked tartness.
