Our Continuing Work on Diversity and Inclusion
This academic year, Holy Child School at Rosemont welcomed two teaching fellows, Lucia Hermann and Shequana Callender, to join our community through the Independent School Teaching Fellows Program of Greater Philadelphia. Created in collaboration with William Penn Charter School and the Community Partnership School, the fellows program seeks to support and develop educators of color by training and mentoring recent college graduates, who then serve as semesterly teaching fellows in area independent schools. The program has blossomed into a consortium of five area independent schools, including Holy Child, which joined in the summer of 2021, recognizing both the importance of diverse teaching teams for our children and the opportunities to provide professional mentorship to new educators of color.
