As we begin the new year, our team with the MH Collective would like to give you a brief snapshot into the real estate market and where we are seeing the market moving. As you can see from the graphic on the last page, two significant changes seem to be taking place. First, the number of active listings in the Victoria Real Estate Board continue to drop. What this means for seller’s is that it is a good time to list your property because there is not as much competition in the market. To this end, we are seeing qualified buyers active in the market and viewing properties – the buyer’s are still in the market and we did see instances in December of multiple offer situations. sales decreasing. This could be for many reasons but we do know that historically, the amount of sales decreases over the holidays and especially between the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s. The market does seem to be stabilizing and judging by the inquiries we are receiving right now, we anticipate a continued active market but not to the extent that we saw at the beginning of last year.
