Programs & Services YOUTH SERVICES North Shore Youth Safe House provides emergency housing for youth 14 to 18 years old and acts as a single point of entry to connect them to much-needed services that can break the cycle of homelessness. Life Success Program offers transitional housing to homeless youth, while providing life skills training and support to find permanent housing. Once graduated, 95% remain housed and employed. Youth Education Navigator supports marginalized youth to enroll in and graduate from postsecondary programs and training. Wired 4 Success is a “tough-love” employment program for youth with barriers to employment. It boasts an 85% success rate for participants securing permanent jobs. Hollyburn Hockey Heroes provides an opportunity for youth-at-risk to play hockey as an incentive to stay in school. 85% of youth partaking remain in school and graduate. Housing Navigators support youth and young adults to secure affordable and sustainable housing to address their housing instability.

SENIORS’ SERVICES Supporting Seniors to Remain Housed prevents homelessness by providing support to seniors with chronic tenancy issues. By preventing evictions, we keep seniors housed. Seniors at Housing Risk offers support to seniors who are at imminent risk of homelessness. Seniors’ Housing Outreach offers support to homeless seniors in our community. Seniors’ Safe House offers a safe place for homeless seniors or seniors living in unsafe or abusive situations.

INDIVIDUAL AND FAMILY SERVICES The Housing Liaison expands partnerships with landlords to create new affordable housing opportunities for individuals and families. Free Counselling Services for individuals and families requiring a safe place to address the trauma they have experienced. Specialized Victim Services supports children and adults who have experienced domestic violence. Integrated Domestic Violence Unit is a unique collaboration with HCSS, West Vancouver Police, North Vancouver RCMP, Squamish Nations, and Ministry of Children and Family Development. As a team, they respond to the most violent calls of domestic abuse. Indigenous Mental Health Court Outreach Worker provides court support for vulnerable North Shore Indigenous residents with mental health barriers.
