Smoking Policy

Holiday Inn Dubai Business Bay is committed to providing a smoke-free environment for our guests and colleagues. Smoking is not permitted in any nonsmoking guestrooms or public spaces. In the event of a violation of this policy, a minimum fee of AED 500 will be imposed to restore the guestroom or public space to a smoke-free condition.

Safety rules in room

• Before you unpack, familiarize yourself with the evacuation plan displayed on your room door.

• Count the number of doorways between your room and a minimum of two emergency exits. Check the exact location of the emergency exits: Do you have to make any turns? Are they to the left or right? Also, locate the nearest fire alarm. Familiarize yourself with the controls of your room’s air conditioning unit and learn how to switch it off. Keep your room key accessible within your room and take it with you when you leave, especially in case of an emergency.

• We strongly recommend locking the door properly using both the door chain and the room’s double lock.

• Use the peephole (eye viewer) on the room door before opening it.

• The hotel will not be responsible for valuables left in your room. Safe boxes are provided free of charge at the reception.

• Ensure your room door is fully closed when you leave the room.

• Regarding the smoking rooms, do not smoke in the bed. Fully extinguish all smoking materials before leaving the room or retiring for the night. It is strictly forbidden to use shisha, light candles, or burn incense in your room or bathroom, as the smoke can activate the fire detector alarm in your room.

While it’s unlikely, it’s important for everyone in the building to be familiar with basic life safety recommendations in case of a fire emergency. Please take a few moments to read the following:

In the event of a fire emergency, you will hear an evacuation message.

Here’s what to do:

• Stay calm and do not panic.

• Do not use the elevator; use the emergency staircases.

• If you see fire or smoke in your room, turn off the air conditioning, leave the room, and take your key with you. Do not pause to collect any belongings. Close the door behind you to prevent the spread of fire. Activate the nearest fire alarm.

• Use any telephone to touch the Emergency button and report your name, location, and the nature of the fire. Then, walk to the nearest Emergency exit and leave the building, holding the handrail while descending the stairs.

• If there is smoke in the corridor, stay as close to the ground as possible, crawl near the walls, and count the doorways to the nearest exit.

• If you smell smoke inside your room, turn off the air conditioning. Check the door for heat; if it’s hot, stay in your room, touch the Emergency button on your telephone, and report your name, location, and the issue.

• Remove drapes from the windows. If smoke persists, create a tent over your head with a wet blanket. If smoke is not rising from a lower floor, you may open the window, but do not break it unless the room is filled with smoke and you cannot open it. Hang a sheet out the window to signal your presence, but do not lean or climb out.

• If the door is cool, leave your room, take your key, and do not delay to gather any other belongings. Close the door behind you to prevent the fire from spreading. Activate the nearest fire alarm and use any telephone to touch the Emergency button, reporting your name, location, and the issue. Walk to the nearest Emergency fire exit and leave the building, holding the handrail while using the stairs.

Medical Services

Our in-house nurse is available from 11am to 3pm during weekdays, and our doctor is on call. If you need any medical assistance, please contact the Instant Service Center and we’ll be happy to help.

For your valuables

While we cannot assume responsibility for valuables left in your room, we do offer complimentary safe boxes located at the reception or within your room. For enhanced security, we recommend using nonrepetitive digits for your password.
