ABOUT HOLIDAY HOUSE Holiday House, founded in 2008 by interior designer and breast cancer survivor Iris Dankner, is an interior design showhouse where top interior designers and lifestyle brands showcase their talent to raise critical funds for the prevention and cure of breast cancer. Iris Dankner was inspired to combine her two passions — interior design and fundraising for breast cancer research — when she saw a lack of high profile interior design events in the New York City area benefitting this great cause. After its inception in 2008, Holiday House became the first designer show house in New York City to benefit a breast cancer organization, attracting talented designers from across the country to transform the historic Academy Mansion on Manhattan’s Upper East Side each fall later moving to other luxury locations around the city. Following its success in New York, Holiday House created a summer expanded in the Hamptons and is now established as one of the premiere show houses in the country. This year Holiday House is celebrating 14th years of remarkable accomplishments including 12 Designer Showhouses in NYC, 4 Designer Showhouses in the Hamptons, 1 Designer Showhouse in London, 3 Tabletop Events in NYC and the Hamptons, 4 Virtual Showhouses with Hamptons Magazine, Modern Luxury Magazine and HGTV, and Holiday House: Ten Years of Decorating for a Cure, a beautiful coffee table book documenting Holiday House’s history from Pointed Leaf Press. Iris is also celebrating twenty five years as a breast cancer survivor! Iris currently serves as a member of the advisory board of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® (BCRF) while her interior design show house, Holiday House, directly benefits the organization. Since partnering with The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® (BCRF), Holiday House has granted more than 1.5 million dollars to this renowned charity that invests 91 cents of every dollar to support its mission of ending breast cancer by advancing the world’s most groundbreaking research.

A Letter From

IRIS DANKNER FOUNDER & CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Dear Friends, As the saying goes: “It’s great to be back!” After two years of “virtual showhouses” and one night “tabletop” events, due primarily to the pandemic, Holiday House is back where it belongs - live - in a magnificent duo of new penthouses, magically transformed by 18 designers showcasing their talents and creating their visions of the ultimate New York City lifestyle. It has been highly anticipated and will be, I’m sure, one of Holiday Houses’ most successful designer showhouses. But let’s not forget what Holiday House is all about. An opportunity to raise funds to help in the fight against breast cancer and to raise awareness in confronting and, hopefully, extinguishing this deadly disease. I’m honored the Holiday House supports The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) that is doing such critical work to make the end of breast cancer a reality in our lifetimes. At every Holiday House event, I meet many people who share some time tragic but often inspiring, stories about how their

lives or the lives of loved ones have been changed by the scourge of breast cancer. These stories give much meaning to everything I do and make all the hard work and effort fulfilling and worthwhile. This is my 25th year as a breast cancer survivor, and I am thankful for all the hard work by everyone involved in this year’s showhouse. To the designers, sponsors, donors, manufacturers, contractors, painters, electricians, and so many more... thank you all from the bottom of my heart for joining me on this incredible journey. Special thanks to CL Investment Group, Extell, and the The Kent for supporting us. We couldn’t make design come to life without such a stunning venue. Enjoy this year’s showhouse! I hope it inspires you and warms your heart for the holiday season. Most importantly, remember my frequent toast, “Here’s to a world without breast cancer!”

A Letter From

MYRA J.BIBLOWIT PRESIDENT & CEO, BREAST CANCER RESEARCH FOUNDATION ®

Dear Friends, On behalf of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), it is my honor to welcome you back to Holiday House! BCRF is proud to be a longstanding beneficiary of Holiday House and through your participation, we are making undeniable progress. BCRF didn’t miss a beat during COVID. We proudly remain the largest private funder of breast cancer research—and metastatic breast cancer research—worldwide, and the highest-rated breast cancer research organization in the country. This year alone we are funding 255 investigators across 14 countries – a global legion of scientists working on every aspect of breast cancer. BCRF-funded research spans the entire spectrum of the disease—from studying the most basic biology of a cancer cell to developing innovative treatments and improving quality of life. Thanks to our shared work, there has been a 43% decline in breast cancer deaths since BCRF was founded, and there are over 4 million breast cancer survivors in the U.S. today. BCRF-funded investigators have been behind every major breakthrough in breast cancer research. The field is moving faster than ever, and we are leading the charge.

But still, 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and 1 in 3 of them will see their cancer return. Breast cancer is now the most common cancer in the world with 2.3 million new cases each year. The work we are fueling together remains urgent. Deepest thanks to Iris Dankner, the creative force and visionary leader of Holiday House, and the team of extraordinary designers who have come together to create this magnificent home. The philanthropic heart, soul and passion of the design community are reflected within the walls of Holiday House. Thanks to the supporters of this show house, BCRF is changing lives today and tomorrow. We hope that you enjoy all that this beautiful home has to offer. Thank you for your participation and belief that together, we will be the end of breast cancer. With much gratitude,

MYRA J. BIBLOWIT

AMY LAU DESIGN CHAIR

“Holiday House is a celebration of life, beauty and optimism as an antidote to cancer. “ Such a remarkable mission! What an honor to reprise my role as Design Chair for a special event supporting a cause that we all connect with. Holiday House founder Iris Danker is tireless in her focus on saving lives and raising awareness about breast cancer. I am very excited to learn that since partnering with The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Holiday House has donated over 1.5 million dollars to this charity! BCRF’s mission is to end breast cancer, and towards achieving their goal they invest 91% of their donations towards innovative research. This year, Holiday House NYC is back in the old world elegance of the Upper East Side in a beautifully restored 1904 neo-Federal building with a stunning stairwell and impeccable historical details. The architect Charles A. Platt is also renowned for his residences built for the Roosevelts and the Astors. Inside, we can look forward to being captivated by 18 very talented designers, who have accepted the challenge to imagine a space inspired by a holiday or a day of personal meaning to each of them.

For insight into the incredible Holiday House rooms that have been created over the last decade, I encourage you to purchase Iris’ recent book, Holiday House: Ten Years of Decorating For a Cure, featuring the designs of over 75 of the world’s top interior designers in some of the most incredible residences in Manhattan. And, of course, a portion of the proceeds from all sales are granted to BCRF. I hope you will take the opportunity to join me and Iris at Holiday House NYC 2022 to share the experience of beauty and hope that good design can bring to all of our lives, while knowing that entry fee supports charity with such a positive mission. A wonderful schedule of events and times to meet the designers has been planned for the duration of Holiday House… perhaps I’ll see you there!

It is a pleasure and an honor to work with Holiday House and its founder Iris Dankner to raise funds for breast cancer research and The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. It is so great to be able to have a brick and mortar designer showhouse this season that really demonstrates that New York City is back and that we can gather safely and do great things through design. I am thrilled to be the Honorary Chair of Holiday House amongst talented interior designers, prestigious interior design companies, Extell, the Kent management team and Iris Dankner and her team of professionals who are helping to make things happen in the pursuit of eradicating breast cancer in our lifetimes. I’m glad that you joined us today to see all of these designers’ stunning, stateof-art work and to be a part of a community at the forefront of this women’s health movement. At Badilla Painters, we hold ourselves to the highest levels of quality in performance, communication, and coordination, and it has made us the go-to for high-end projects” The objective at Badilla Painters may be beautifying surfaces, but the firm’s approach to doing so is anything but surface level. Instead, its mission rests on two concepts: innovation and intentionality. By studying leaders in the industry, Badilla Painters stays on top of trends and provides builders, architects, designers, and homeowners with well-rounded insight. This includes prioritizing eco-friendly materials and discovering products that offer high-quality texture and finish. “We are always doing research and looking for new products on the market,” says Joe Badilla, president of Badilla Painters. In the past year, the company has added three products to its portfolio of interior and exterior finishes. The additions—a high-quality refinishing technique for kitchen cabinets, a paintable magnetic plaster, and a custom chrome finishing division, ChromableNY- offer clients the opportunity for customization and a painless upgrade. Our custom chrome finishing service division, ChromableNY is a proprietary new process by which highly-reflective paint is applied to transform almost any surface to look like metal. The design possibilities are virtually endless for wood, plastic, glass, and other substrates. These exciting finishes can be utilized in creating architectural interest or may be used to specifically punctuate a space with show-stopping design feature. Applied to furniture, the ChromableNY process can create one-of-a-kind pieces that deliver that major wow factor.

Kevie Murphy is the founder and principal of k.a. murphy interiors, a full-service design firm focused on high-end residential interiors. In Kevie’s interiors, function dictates and informs, while beauty always transcends. Balancing both, in striking and elevated ways, is fundamental to her vision. Design wasn’t Kevie’s first career. Growing up in Port Jefferson Station, New York, Kevie went to Boston University and then attended law school. This led to her working as an Assistant District Attorney in Brooklyn, after which she entered the private sector and became a partner at a New York City firm. It was when Kevie and her husband purchased a Brooklyn Heights home that required extensive renovation, that she realized her passion for interior design and enrolled at the New York School of Interior Design. Everything has brought Kevie to this moment: her passion, her enthusiasm, and her ability to connect with people, which she uses, today, to help make people’s lives better. This starts with her own life: 1 husband, 4 kids, and 3 houses. All of which Kevie sees as “ongoing, always changing, and forever works in progress.” They’re also the perfect examples of what Kevie means when she says, “Home is your memory maker.”

A self proclaimed design addict, Riki Wagh’s design work has run the gamut from designing residential, hospitality, commercial and healthcare. I love working on a project that leaves a message that creates a buzz. I’m a free thinker, I see a blank canvas wherever I look and I’m always trying to envision things a different light. It can come from how we interact with the floor or the ceiling or how we think about moments within the space. I’m not afraid of wearing color (fashion is definitely an inspiration) or designing with color. Color connects with our emotions and I’m passionate about creating unique color combinations that push the envelope. In life and design, I don’t take things too seriously or play by too many rules. Being playful, taking risks and having fun promotes positive energy in my projects.” A go big in design attitude keeps Riki on the pulse of current trends seeking out what’s now, what’s new, what’s next for how we live, how we work and of course how we play.

“Think outside the box.” With a jewelry box that doubles as décor and triples as an emotional box. I learned about the box method, putting our emotions in a box at times when it is not effective to be overwhelmed by them. I printed out a picture of Kelly Wearstler’s polished brass bejeweled box and looked at it every time something triggered me to be upset. The beauty of the box would help bring a sense of calm. I’ve recently replaced the box for this Studio Greytak work of art.”

DESIGNER ALISON ROSE CONTACT

alison@alisonroseny.com (212) 842-0362 alisonroseny.com One of designer Alison Rose’s earliest memories is spending her formative years in the pioneering workspace of her mother at The Museum of Natural History in New York. The museum was a place where dramatic vignettes inspired fantastical environments; where Alison could surrender to time and became captivated by the influence of space, and a starting point to designing by observation. Since then she has honed her creative sensibilities by looking beyond the ritual of process and focusing on the individual through visual narratives that are specific to each project. With a foundation working in both architecture and interiors, Alison formulates true connection between the physical space, the inhabitants, and the objects that can live within. As a creative visionary, Alison’s innate ability to juxtapose unexpected materiality, both architecturally and in her contemporary custom furnishings, inspire a masterful and continuously expanding body of work. With a dedicated passion for luxury living and century old artisanal techniques, Alison has built a strong foundation for her own design collections. Two globally acclaimed lines for Artistic Tile, ‘Euclid’, and ‘Zephyr’, both receiving accolades including the Interior Design Best of Year Award, winner of The Boutique Design Competition, and a nomination by the Creatures Design Awards for Best Design Colaboration, a textile collection with Misia Paris of the Casamance Group, ‘Euphorie Cubiste’, inspired by the linear fashions of the early 20th century. Alison will be launching her eponymous new collections in 2022.

Born and raised in a small suburb between Baltimore, Maryland and Washington, D.C., Eneia grew up in one of the most diverse cities in America, grooming her early appreciation for learning through cultural diversity. Her favorite part of the design process is getting to know the client, really understanding what they are communicating verbally and non-verbally to deliver an end result they feel represents their aesthetic. Earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from The Art Institute of Washington, Eneia has a strong understanding of the technical side of the design process, bridging the gap between innovative ideas and dissecting the details of how successful spaces are built. Eneia developed her craft under the instruction of high-end designers and architects in Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, and New York. Residing and practicing design across the country has given Eneia a unique perspective into how culture, location and environment shapes the client’s lifestyle and needs. Launched in 2018, EWI was formed based on the idea of offering a professional design service, extending dynamic concepts to her clients in a comfortable environment.
