Akaroa Day Tour including Harbour Cruise - Visit the beautiful unspoilt old French whaling depot of Akaroa. Travel to Akaroa via Lake Ellesmere, Lake Forsyth and Little River, stop at the Hilltop Tavern to experience panoramic views of Akaroa Harbour, visit the cheese factory at Barry’s Bay and sample some fine New Zealand cheese, and lunch in the naturally picturesque setting of Akaroa Village at the popular Bully Hayes Restaurant. In the afternoon enjoy a two hour cruise on the Canterbury Cat exploring the delights of Akaroa Harbour and sighting dolphins, penguins and seals.

Kaikōura and Whale Watching Cruise - Travel by road through the rolling hill country of North Canterbury, enjoying the beauty of its rural pastoral scenes, to Kaikōura where mountains meet sea. Kaikōura is world renowned for the variety of marine mammals which can be seen, specially the giant sperm whales and the acrobatic dusky dolphins. On your arrival in Kaikōura you will be transferred to a whale watch tour; by boat or light aircraft, the choice is yours. In the afternoon enjoy a café lunch (own expense) and then visit a seal colony where fur seals may be viewed at close quarters. On your return to Christchurch a stop will be made at a North Canterbury vineyard, where a wine tasting has been arranged for your pleasure.

Waipara Wine Trail with Lunch - This tour explores 4 of North Canterbury’s boutique vineyards. From Christchurch we drive 45 minutes north through the New Zealand countryside to the Waipara Valley, known for its warm, dry climate and rich alluvial soils, ideal for superior wine production. Over 40 vineyards and wineries pepper the landscape of the valley, with pinot noir, riesling, chardonnay and sauvignon blanc dominating local plantings. Our first stop will be at Waipara Springs Winery for both a tasting and a leisurely plattered lunch, after which the tour proceeds to Greystone, Waipara Hills and Pegasus Bay wineries for tastings of some more great wines.
