Summer sessions at our Ashford location are finally back in full swing since the start of the pandemic, even requiring a waitlist for the first time since 2019 due to such high demand. Camp served 846 participants over the course of seven sessions, a 16 percent increase since last summer, and a total of 983 participants when including the two Family Camps, a 22 percent increase compared to last year. Preparations are now well underway for Fall Family Weekends, which kicked off on September 12.

oUTREACH ACTIVITIES
Camp’s Hospital Outreach specialists have been busy spreading joy and magic to children in hospitals, with approximately 500 interactions a day, not including the incredible 1,280 healing interactions brought to children and families at this year ’ s Camp Week at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. WOW! Meanwhile, Family Outreach staff were hard at work preparing care packages for summer session participants, hosting CampOut events from New Jersey to Rhode Island and hosting a Parent and Caregiver retreat in July for some adults-only relaxation and respite.
Exciting progress is underway at our Maryland location as we prepare to welcome families for programming in May 2026! Renovations are more than half done, with the infirmary taking shape and safety upgrades in motion including a 20,000-gallon water tank for the new sprinkler system. At River House, an accessible walkway is complete, and a beautiful porte cochère is in progress (pictured, right), ensuring families experience a warm and inclusive welcome and feel right at home from the moment they arrive.
Additional key features of the renovated facilities include:
Capacity for 60 participants (15 families of 4), plus 40 staff and volunteers.
Centralization of activities, crucial program areas (Makers Space, Arts & Crafts, Pool, Theater, Parent programming) and housing into River House. Dedicated housing for medical staff
