ARCHITECT / DESIGNER / ARTIST / ILLUSTRATOR

Hello my name is Allistair Burt and I'm an Artist and Architect who has worked under the title of 'Hole in my Pocket' (HIMP) since late 2002.

As HIMP I've worked on a vast range of projects including film, painting, sculpture, architecture, illustration & once travelled around Scotland with an air hostess trolley full of wine gathering myths and legends from the people I met.

I've been fortunate to work on lots of brilliant commissions; I've directed short films for Channel 4, illustrated books, participated in exhibitions globally, created the Small World Experiment, designed a Storytelling Machine for a museum, formed my own “religion” and tried to sort out politics through creative solutions in a project entitled ‘Common of Houses’.

In late 2013 I launched my first retail collection and over the last couple of years I have been delighted to work with some brilliant independent stockists and galleries throughout the British Isles.

Our work is bright, bold, and humorous with a lopsided charm that makes excited children out of the most serious of adults. With a background of 12 years working as a project Architect detail is really important to me and our aim is to make work of high quality that will be treasured by those that buy & receive it.
