Travel programs that follow the Girl Scout Promise Established as a womanowned business in 1974, Holbrook has a long history of offering travel experiences with a strong focus on natural science, culture, service learning, and STEM topics.

• While traveling, girls will have opportunities to earn various awards offered by Girl Scouts, adding to the insignia on their uniforms.

• Through hands-on activities, girls will undergo physical and mental challenges together, fostering cooperative learning and critical-thinking skills.

• Girl Scout Cadettes will be able to earn their LiA (Leadership in Action) Award by assisting the younger Scouts during the journey.

• Lastly, any Girl Scout who is hoping to earn her Bronze, Silver, or Gold Award will discover and learn about issues in a foreign place, which could later assist her in identifying an issue in her own community to focus on for her project.

Supporting girls on their Journeys By its very nature, travel promotes cooperation, creates connections, challenges our worldview, and develops leadership skills. By incorporating relevant activities into your travel program, we can help support girls as they earn badges, go on Journeys, and work toward their Bronze, Silver, or Gold Awards.

Below you’ll find sample activities that correlate to the different Girl Scout Journeys, including the Outdoor Journey. Plus, on the following page we’ve shown how you can incorporate activities in support of the STEM Journeys. Keep in mind these are just ideas to get you started; we’re happy to provide more inspiration and suggestions to meet your specific goals.

Taking on the world of STEM Presenting science, technology, engineering, and mathematics practices through hands-on learning is a vital part of preparing girls for the future. Our programs expand upon core STEM concepts and include experiences to engage Girl Scouts, spark their curiosity, and encourage them as they earn badges or pursue any of the STEM Journeys. Trip Planning Planning an educational field expedition for your Scouts can seem like a challenge, but organizing one-of-a-kind experiences is our specialty.

Search for wild tigers and their prey in Ranthambore, one of India’s premier national parks, and learn about their ecology and behavior from wildlife researchers and conservation experts.
