The historic Edwardian Mansion is set in over a thousand acres of the South Downs National Park, with far-reaching views across open countryside and ancient woodland all the way to the glistening Solent. It’s the perfect setting for the wedding of your dreams from ten guests to a thousand. The stunning former home of the Earl of Bessborough is a sublime space for a small, intimate gathering with the historic grandeur of the Blue Drawing Room and lavish furnishings of the Music Room as the backdrop for your special day. The sprawling grounds offer an incredible opportunity for a large unapologetically bold celebration with space for over a thousand guests in a marquee. Whatever your desires our dedicated team will be with you every step of the way to create a bespoke experience you will treasure forever.
Time to say ‘I Do’
Every wedding is unique, and here at Stansted Park, you have the gift of choosing the perfect space for those all-important words. Get married in our beautiful Music Room, with gorgeous fireplace and breath taking views out to the rolling fields. Fancy an al fresco ceremony or a marquee space? Choose between seating your guests on our perfectly manicured East Lawn or open aspect South Lawn with views to the Solent and the House as your glorious backdrop. Looking for a church style feel? Have a blessing in our private chapel.
Our ceremony room seats 70, our outside lawns can seat far more (wet weather plan required). We also accommodate ceremony only celebrations and vow renewals.
A Blessing at St Paul’s Chapel
The private family chapel at Stansted Park is a truly exceptional place to bless your marriage.
Tucked away in a tree-lined grove, just a short stroll from the Mansion house, the blue stained glass casts a magical light across the tiled 17th century aisle as you pledge your commitment to each other. This uniquely intimate setting provides seating for around 100 guests to share the more spiritual element of your wedding. We can support you in organising a minister or celebrant to help you create a bespoke blessing just for you. The chapel is also available for vow renewals.
A Night to Remember
It’s not just about saying ‘I Do’, your wedding is the perfect time to bring your loved ones together and celebrate. Whether that is beautiful, elegant formal dining for thirty of your favourite people, or a huge barbecue and street food vendors for your own personal festival! Your choices here are endless. Dance the night away in our Servants Quarters and create a speakeasy bar in our Crypt, or take your party out into a marquee and dance under the stars.
The Blue Drawing Room seats a maximum of 50 for formal dining. For the evening, the Servants Quarters has a capacity of 90. Outdoor celebrations can host many more.

The Bridal Suite
Retire up the grand staircase to your glorious suite, kick off your shoes, let down your hair and end your special day with an even more special stay in the Mansion.
The recently refurbished Bessborough Suite in the north west corner of the Mansion features stunning, bespoke tapestry wallpaper, a gorgeous super king bed and original 1920’s fixtures including ornate swan neck tap. With views all the way down one of the longest tree-lined avenues in private hands, gaze out and feel like the Lord and Lady themselves.
