It is an experience that is both exhilarating and frustrating, one that cannot be fully described within the confines of these pages, but which must be experienced. Some of you felt that your only task in law school was to go to classes and read the material. We hope that you will come to the forefront during your professional careers and realize that you can accomplish so much more than mere existence. We have been told throughout our years at Hofstra that as students we take back seats to no one. As you move on into the "real world," take pride in Hofstra Law. Every time you achieve a goal, you enhance the reputation and prestige of this school. Fifty years ago there were many schools that did not get all the on campus interviews they get today. Even Harvard Students Know They Need To Take PMBR! May 28, 1992 Kenneth I. Dym, Esq. PMBR 450 Seventh Avenue Suite 3504 New York, NY 10123 Dear Kenny: I am happy to inform you that I passed this February's New York Bar exam after three unsuccessful previous attempts. I know for a fact that you and PMBR are the main reason for my success. I was able to improve my Multistate score by 35 scaled points. I am convinced that mastering the MBE was and is the most decisive factor for success on the bar, and that nobody knows how to teach this skill better than you. I can honestly say that I enjoyed both the 6-day and 3-day workshops, which provided me with a feeling of challenge and constant growth as you skillfully unraveled many of the "mysteries" of the MBE for what they represent: a game which, once the clues are Dick-Tracy decoded, can be systematically played and won. Perhaps even more importantly, however, I felt constantly motivated by your exceptional presence and state-ofthe-art teaching approach, interwoven with a healthy measure of the best stand-up comedy I have ever witnessed. The combined effect was to annihilate those two eternal enemies to the sanity of law students and lawyers alike: boredom and self-doubt. (Your first-grade teaching mother can be proud!). At the same time, I gained many new perspectives about myself and the nature and effects of the thinking instilled by three years of ivy league law school, as compared to the very different thinking required for the bar and contrasted again with what happens in the "real world". In sum, I have never taken any course as valuable or worthwhile as PMBR.

In memory of Dwight L. Greene I first met Professor Dwight L. Greene in December 1990 when I applied for a job as his research assistant. After a "short" three hour interview, which included conversations from the books I had read to the music that I listened to, he hired me, and I went on to work with him until the time of his death in early July. Dwight and I formed a close friendship during the years that we worked together. Over time he had become my mentor and advisor, helping me through those turbulent law school times all law students are expected to endure, and encouraging me to pursue my goals and aspirations upon completion of my studies. Mere words cannot accurately express the sense of sadness I felt upon learning of his death. I shall truly miss his warmth, humor and sensitivity and shall forever be grateful for the rivilege of having known him.
P What I remember most about Dwight was his sincere commitment to his family, his community and his scholarship. He often spoke at great lengths about his mother and his son, Anthony, and was always quick to interject a story about a family member who he felt "illustrated a point" he was trying to make. It was obvious that Dwight considered his family the basis of his success both in his legal career and in life in general and he often credited his family with keeping his sanity during the troubling years of his youth and adulthood. Community was also of utmost importance to Dwight. Unlike many others who achieve a high level of success in their careers, Dwight never neglected to assist those he considered less fortunate. He especially concerned himself with the community's youth, often going to great lengths to establish college scholarship funds and programs for their benefit and always offering advice to any young person who was willing to listen. He firmly believed that he owed a duty to the young people in his community. Anyone who knew Dwight knew that he most enjoyed working on his scholarship. He labored long hours developing his ideas and writing law review articles and commentaries on a variety of subjects. He was constantly challenging traditional notions of legal thought and normative standards which he felt merely served to foster ignorance and strived to assure that the voices of the oppressed and less fortunate were heard through his writings. Dwight truly believed in using his writings as a sword, "striking" at any injustice which he felt needed addressing. He came to be well recognized in the area of Critical Race Theory and frequently lectured on the subject in law schools across the country. It is hard to realize that Dwight is no longer with us. He was so energetic, so full of life, such a commanding presence. I will sincerely miss the long conversations we had in his office. I will miss his warmth, his vibrancy, his humor, his love of people and his perspectives on life. His memory will forever live in all those he touched. I am sure I do not exaggerate when I say that Dwight Greene was truly a great man. Have a peaceful journey, my brother. Fernando Morales

EDITORS' NOTE
Do you know what cropping is? How about what copy is? A pica? We didn't know the meaning of those terms either until we embarked on the production of this yearbook; but just as we now know how to crop a photograph, how to place copy correctly, and how to measure a page, we have also learned the true value of friendship and the meaning and purpose in remembering that friendship.
It is our hope that the yearbook will serve as a reminder of each of your lives during law school. Perhaps for some it will bring laughter and happiness and perhaps for others it will bring sadness, but most importantly, it was our goal that this yearbook would bring to life emotions greater than the sum of its printed pages.
The yearbook would not have been possible without the much appreciated assistance of the following people: Thornton Studios, Hunter Publishing Corp., Daniel May for providing space in the library for senior portraits to be taken, Dean Ivy Leibowitz for assisting with faculty and staff photographs, the faculty and staff for cooperating with us in times of tight deadlines, the SBA President Mitchel Ashley and the SBA Board for providing the initial funding for the yearbook, the entire Class of 1993 for contributing photographs to the yearbook and volunteering to take candid pictures, and lastly and most importantly, the entire yearbook staff for their dedication and commitment to the production of the yearbook.
