Ah las cuatro paredes albicantes/ Ah the Four Bleaching Walls Trilce is the most radical book of poetry written in the Spanish language, arising at the beginning of the aesthetic change that the avant-gardes of his time were going through. Two characteristics essentially define Trilce: “difficult”, due to its hermetic writing and the poem’s tendency to erase its referents, and “demanding”, because it requires language to say everything new, as if nothing had been said.
