Associate Senator Rachel Navarro 1. What is the FAQ Initiative and how to help with the transition that freshmen have going into college? Rachel has worked with Senator Congdon and the Academic Affairs committee. She also joined the DAV(e) subcommittee as well as had meetings with SAC. This is going to impact freshmen by making them stay happy and confident while coming to Hofstra University, and know more about the resources at Hofstra. We are working on a draft with SAC and hoping that it will be ready for the Class of 2025. What L4L has taught her was to make sure she put herself out there and help get out of her comfort zone. ii.

Associate Senator Lila Campbell 1. Working with the equity and inclusion committee. Assisted with the planning with the town hall and helping with the Day of Understanding however it will get pushed to next semester. Working with How To Hofstra and was very excited to work on this which is a guide to future Hofstra Freshman. This will be shown during Welcome Week in the future years to come as well. Working with the DREAM club on campus and hopefully heading a “lingo bingo” session for How to Hofstra. iii.

Associate Senator Mac Sykes 1. Was tasked to work on the Hofstra TikTok Initiative to expand on what was previously posted from last year. Every few weeks we are tasked to post videos for popular trends that are trending currently and have the SGA hop on that bandwagon this shows and has an impact on the Hofstra Community. We hope that the SGA TikTok continues to grow in the next upcoming years and we hope to grow closer as friends iv.

Associate Senator Nicole Kerr

1. How working with programming has changed this year with COVID so working with social Distancing, limited capacity, and incentivization towards the students of our age want that free shirt or food. They want something for their time while coming to our events. Stuff that has helped was having sign ups for the students and being able to use larger rooms. Skills that have been learned during this program would be Problem Solving, Interactions virtually, and creative thinking v.

Associate Senator Nicole Zacchia 1. Currently working with the club Resources committee. It was great being able to interact with students in and out of SGA. There were some goals that we have decided to do. The 3 main ones were Club outreach, Reallocate Office Spaces, and Review the constitution. The reasons we did these things create solutions and have a better understanding on how to work with clubs to get a better understanding. Also to reiterate to other clubs to make sure they do not need any help and if they do to be a voice for the students to help. b. S.A.2020.85.004 i.

With this action I do not want to diminish any roles to the students and how there is some favoritism. We want to make sure you do not need to be on the programming committee.

1. Chair Paturzo have you thought of this for when in person programming is allowed and if you have thought of this position. a. All the work should be done by the committee and not the chair 2. Senator Schanck 1. I haven't done a lot of this role this semester and I do not want it to be favoritism towards becoming the programming chair iv.

Senator Congdon 1. There also aren’t that many people that sit on programming for the full year and it also shows favoritism on the committee v.

Senator Hotaling 1. It is very hard to get people in SGA or for people in particular

Chair Connolly-Sisk 1. I disagree with this and how this isn’t favoritism because it does set a precedent of favoritism, and it sets other committee members at a disadvantage if they wanted to run for chair vii.

Senator DeBiso 1. We almost had a Deputy on Club Resources but we decided that it wasn’t a good idea viii.

Chair Paturzo 1. It is the same as just being a senator as we have an ethics and conduct and archivist, and social chair it is very important to hone in on the people that want to participate. ix.

Chair O’Brien 1. As not having a deputy I could see how it could be beneficial x.

F. PROGRAMMING DEPUTY 1. The Programming Chair shall appoint a Programming Deputy whose duties shall be as follows. a. Organize the Student Government Association’s involvement in Stressbusters alongside the Office of Student Advocacy and Prevention Awareness (OSAPA). b. Organize Build-A-Friend programming. c. Assist the Programming Chair as needed with any internal SGA programming. d. The Programming Deputy shall sit as a member of the Programming Committee. The Programming Deputy shall have been a member of the Programming Committee for a minimum of one (1) semester prior to holding this position. The Programming Deputy shall report to the Programming Chair on a recurring basis as designated by the Programming Chair.

Senator Hotaling 1. Questions regarding the hours of Dining Services for the Fall semester a. Bruce Our goal is looking for the Fall enrollment and working on campus but to go back to normal hours as well as Nassau Board of health guidelines. Also updates regarding to HofUSA for the Spring and Fall iv.

Senator Congdon 1. Will capacity still be limited in the fall a. Bruce We are hoping that we will be at 100% but it depends on Health guidelines. Indoor and Outdoor Events space has been increased to 75% and hopefully there will be changes to that v.

Senator Singh 1. More diverse food options to the Student Center a. Bruce, we are more than happy to have more Diverse options on Dining. We are also working on putting together family recipes but we are more than happy to work with other organizations on campus vi.

Chair Connolly-Sisk 1. Allergy and Reactions for cross contamination on campus a. Bruce We have a safety Committee and our managers have 3 hours of mandatory allergen training each year where they try really hard to not cross contaminate. Ask the manager and chef to make sure it is readily prepared. Ask the manager on the floor as well, they can show them what ingredients are in it. I haven’t heard much of anyone having an allergic reaction, so make sure

those students communicate to me so I can find the source. I need to be on-top of my staff to make sure they are properly trained. b. Chair Connolly-Sisk - can I give students your email? i.

Yes Absolutely Chair Germaine 1. Any Price Gouging in Dutch is there anything about that a. Bruce, We are trying to make adjustments but they go at a cost per bottle Senator Kaludis 1. Do you know when students can use their Credit/Debit card readers on campus? We had an issue yesterday but it was resolved a. I did not know that I would go and fix that issue.

2. I know Dunkin is open in the fall but what about Einstein’s a. Bruce, Yes our plan is to have that open Senator Perez 1. Student Workers and trying to get more hours and Surveillance testing a. The Staff is being screened everyday and workers are tested about every 3 weeks. We are working on getting the staff for Vaccines. As far as hours we don’t like to cut hours but we did have to lose some staff members and health benefits from the companies but we did have to cut staff but they were given benefits. We have had employees opt from coming back. The Government is working hard on unemployment we are trying to do everything we can for the fall and to have them all back Chair Germaine 1. Will we be adding more to the boost app or making more updated and not many meal options on boost. a. Bruce, I will have my staff take a look at the boost app. We may add some more locations to boost. Boost is doing well with Starbucks and Sushi but it is almost non existent from BYOB on South Campus and Brooklyn Slice in the student center Senator Welch 1. What is the Hofstra’s Plates Policy for accessible a. Colin, The plant and facilities team is in charge or plant. It is not in place now but with COVID. b. Bruce, We want to use plants but we can’t have them now.

However we are losing at least 1,000 plates per semester from being thrown out or they are mysteriously disappearing.

Chair Connolly-Sisk 1. Will self serve come back when we are allowed to. a. Bruce, Absolutely, as of right now we are not allowed from Nassau Board health guidelines but we are trying.

Associate Senator Booth presents from Leaders for Leaders 1. Associate Senator Boothe presents about herself and getting to know as well as teach herself to the rest of the senate body. Explains her proposal as well as meeting with sustainability and meeting with Senator Welch.

The overview is to work with a net neutrality proposal over a bunch of other schools. The team of this proposal is the forward and introduction on how we can show support as well as climate change with Hofstra University especially because we live on Long Island which has climate change concerns as well as hurricanes when in season. This will help keep the planet to keep it more sustainable as well as to finish the proposal that we have started working on. I want to shout out working with Chair Aquino for all her help while getting the staff to help me share our concerns. I have been working with VP Houston and Branka Kristic to help create a logo that can be advertised and promoted for the Garden.

Associate Senator Amalia Sanchez 1. I worked with how the safe space has helped with the Hofstra Community and how to help with the transition resources that are given to the students as well as the Hofstra Community to help them as items are coming back to normal. I want to help working with collaborating with SGA to help from other advocacy groups I want to open the floor to other organizations iii.

Associate Senator Anthony Papasodero 1. I want to talk about my project that also relates to my introduction to and process to work with Uber Eats so you can have more dining options with campus. With COVID-19 there are less options available on campus as well as giving students more options. For example we want the ability to make it better and so you can order food from Uber Eats by using the meal plan from Hofstra. There will be an optional tip as well as other Uber fees. We wanted to use this because uber has a higher usage compared to other apps. It may increase more people and/or commuters to get a meal plan. We are considering this and we are working to get this done. Currently this project is in the works we are trying to work out the financials part of this process. I would like to pursue a higher role in SGA as well but started being the treasurer of the Commuter Association. iv.

Associate Senator Jessaia McGriff 1. I joined the Leaders 4 Leaders program that is a two semester program that helped to be a better student as well as showing how to be a more active student. How have we been a better outcome from zoom but as well as working for in person events. While working with teamwork as it has been a journey talking about being a bigger and stronger leader on campus as well as having lots of ideas and making sure that nothing stops you. v.

Associate Senator Jonathan Lee 1. Explains himself and the journey through SGA then became a part of the appropriations committee. Helped allocate Clubs funding as part of the Committees tasks. Community Governance Summit and connecting with other student leaders on campus. Going back to how to enhance your skills in speaking. Working with the accounting society organization on campus working on an Internship with the business field and planning on running for Senator for the future days at Hofstra C.
